I always love the quiet of hearing a train horn in the distance and looking at the seemingly empty track, not seeing lights or anything, just the track and the horn. Idk why it’s so relaxing but either way thanks for this.
Reminds me of Waseca MN and Converse TX, Both of my home towns (mostly Waseca). Every time I was at my dads house I would hear distant train horns all the time
I remember sleeping in Appleton Wi before I had to fly out the next morning and hearing the sound of the CN was music to my ears and put me right to sleep.

Goosebumps. I don’t know why. Just ERIE. 😂 but seriously, this is creepy.
Reminds me of Becker, MN. My hometown. At night, the distant train horns combined with the stillness of the winter air was entrancing. I miss it.

I really hear BNSF every night when they honk in Oak Grove MN at the Hinckley Sub
I love this I live three minutes away from the bnsf Columbia River sub so distance horns are very soothing
Reminds me of Necedah, wi. Place was next to the train tracks and hearing those horns made me blitz to the crossing to film it before it passed.
2nd and 3rd gen K5HLs always put me to sleep, same with the low idle of a GEVO-12.

It's in the 432hz range that probably why distant train horns are soothing

I'm doing the same thing. I live almost two miles from the Pine Bluff Sub (Union Pacific/ Former Cotton Belt).
