Honestly, trains over in America are pretty cool looking. But you should see the trains down in Australia, for example. We have the Sydney Train System, and there are no lengthy classification of locomotives (like the P32ACDM) we have relatively short designations (like the “Waratah” A & B Set, “Tangara” T Set) just to name a few
Euro trains: beep beep excuse me could you please scoot over so I can get by? Sorry to bother you thanks have a nice day American trains: I SAID YOU BETTER MOVE BEFORE I PAINT THE TRACK RED
What I meant when I said stereotypical is about films. You know when a train is approaching the main guy and you always hear this type of horn in my opinion. But still, it's a great horn and one of my favourites
I live in Barrie which used to be a railroad town, but now all the original track area is just condos, resturants, beaches, and walking paths. The only railroad action I get is just GO transit and the Barrie Collingwood Railway.
You do not know how loud train horns are until you've heard one outside, not in a building or car😂 It just happened to me and scared the frickin balls off of me!
I had no idea just how long those trains are in Canada. I came across a lot them when I drove from Brantford (Ontario) to Calgary. I am now back in the UK. I never thought I would miss the sight & sound of those huge machines. I would like some of those horns on my car. Ideal when the car in front has the driver on his/her mobile. I am sure it would get their attention. It would more than likely necessitate a change of underwear. Thanks for sharing.
Love it! Have you noticed that some locomotive engineers seem to be a bit lazy these days. There should be a full two longs; one short, and two longs. Some are barely into the second long blast when they enter the crossing. Personally; louder is better--I love the powerful sounding horns. It's a serious safety issue. Some American locomotive horns sound more like fog horns. Very weak sounding.
You're welcome Dave. My second time around. Just as exciting listening to those power blasts. Re lazy engineers...I wrote 2 long, 1 short, 2 long. What was I thinking! Should have written 2L/1S/1Long.
The two longs, one short and two longs (or one long at the end) is the standard for trains in the USA. Canadian trains only need to blow 3 times before entering the crossing. It doesn't have to be in a certain pattern. These are mainly Canadian trains.
+Dan Hiteshew Thanks for your comment Dan that is very true no 2 engineers sounds the horn the same way they are all individuals with different ways of sounding the horns and there is many types of horn tones .
the first one is the best for sure! But most of them are very nice horns, canadian horns at their best (beside P5s and K5LLAs... those are pretty ugly and dull to hear, not like K3Ls!) Very good video!
Yes I have heard Andre , the same thing , we will have to wait till then to see I guess , more trucks and pollution on the roads again ? Thanks Andre !
yah, I find it 'stupid'.... more trucks on the roads, pollution and damage, when they have a lack of truck drivers. I thought that CP was making money with that train..It almost looks as they want to get out of the market back East
There is only 6 trains running on the Belleville Sub now minus this one , you can't make money if the trains don't run ? they need to run more and bigger trains in my opinion ? CN has more than they can handle that is why they are using foreign power now !
yes, CN has got big problems too, lack of crews, motive power (like you say, rely on motive power), they 'fired' their president yesterday, because of big complaints of customers, etc
David I got return and thank. I don’t have a RUclips channel but I love all trains and I plan to do a small N scale layout and I do watch trains when I’m able. If not trains it airplanes. I enjoy your videos thank

The great sounds of Canadian Power, especially at 5:53!!!
Good thing I had my volume set to 16%! Not only great horns, but also some very nice catches in there too!
Thanks yes I really enjoyed making these videos #1 , #2 , #3 . alot of editing on this one but it turned out to be my most popular video !

You'd love to see/hear them at the Spiral Tunnels in British Columbia. It's awesome!
seen em, loved em!

I think that horn is the most stereotypical american train horn ever (but yes, i know that's a canadian train)
Yes it is a Canadian Railway , I would say prototypical !
The multi-chime air horn was a Canadian invention, and we still tune them the best ;)
What I meant when I said stereotypical is about films.
You know when a train is approaching the main guy and you always hear this type of horn in my opinion. But still, it's a great horn and one of my favourites
1:59 how does an SD40-2 pull a GEVO with high priority mail cars at such speed?! Great catch!!

That is because they are brand new thanks for watching !
David Allen no problem
I wish I lived near trains so bad, I mean close enough where they are loud.
Thank you for your comment !

That’s awesome! Obviously in the video they aren’t anywhere as loud but I know what it would be like.
That is true I didn't want to make everyone deaf from watching the video so I toned it down a little thank you !

In the UK there are strict restriction on horn usage from engineers.
