If the ogryn with the missing arms is from Station Forge he's supposed to be holding a huge two-handed mace above his head. It's one of my fave sculpts from them.
I like to think they never released them fully so players can "have fun" with their own lore. Similar to the "missing" SM legions. But considering they have "upgrade kits" I am almost certain they just want people to get multiple boxes for the bits only. We've come so far away from "Hey make this base out of garbage and use proxies" to "Consume more."
I think there are multiple reasons that GW isn't making Traitor Guard their own army: 1: They share 90% of their design space with normal Guard. Even in the lore proper traitor Guard (not just a mob with weapons) like the Blood Pact from "Gaunt's Ghosts" are just Guard with spikey bits. They use mostly the same wargear, same tactics and so on. They may have occasional special vehicles like wire wolves or other Daemon engines but those are often too valuable to be given to anything that isn't Traitor Space Marines. So they would likely share the vast majority of units with normal Guard which might be too "boring" for people. 2: The actual playerbase that would buy/collect Traitor Guard just may be too small. Making a whole new army is a huge financial investmen for GW and the army HAS to sell. The risk may just be too big.
Ive always loved the idea of a traitor guard army. I got into 40k near the end of 3rd edition and wanted them then but just couldnt bring myself to buy an IG army and then a bunch of chaos kits to bash them with. So i kept playing Space Marines. Time to fire up the printer!
Traitor guard army would be fantastic, I am not sure why there is no full fledge heretic guard army so with mine I thought it would just use imperial guard rules for now. Station Forge make some good looking models :O
You've had the same problem I've had with that banner man, I think I'm going to go in and add some reinforcement shapes to make it more resistant to falling apart, I'm enjoying painting my traitor guard though.
xoxoxox @Sam. Nice paint job, Traitor Guard are awesome. My guess is that GW makes so much money on Space Marines it probably doesn't make much sense to make anything else.
Traitors on 30/40k are just so much better in general more cool looking, lore isnt all good boi :-P I want grit and nasty to my games, I want to feel the hellish nature of the world/universe!!

Sadly that seems to be the way the hobby is going

glad to hear I'm not the only one!! They are fun to paint!
In defence of the "we got new models" camp - 2022 is remarkably recent when compared to some of GW's lineup

Thanks! lol imagine a world where its only space marines...oh..wait..
I've been looking all over, but I cant seem to find files anywhere for full armies paid or free. Anyone have and ideas?
where can i find the files for those models?
Oh Sam's back hahah
Dust off the cobwebs brother lol
Im new to 3d printing. But im not sure where to go for 3d prints for 40k. Any suggestions would be much appreciated
Cults 3D and Myminifactory have great minis and also many Free.
Do you track which support making companies tend to be the best?
Once in a Six Side has a community sheet that gives ratings to companies and their supports
Minirater is a great resource to use!
I just know off hand which ones are safe and which ones are a maybe, themakerscult is the best imo
@@battlebrothersamnot so sure about them, most of their stuff ist so heavily over supported
Yay! More models and makers for Sam to get nuked by GW and never acknowledge when the community asks questions! Hack

Speaking on the painting side, I think we need to have a conversation.
