Can you elaborate a bit on what color the bounce light should be? Should It be the mix between local color of object that the light bounce of and the light color itself? And also - can we conclude that every image is kinda exposed when there is strong key light, the only cases where we'r not exposing are diffuse scenarios?
I thought the title meant exposure as in notoriety as an artist, which I thought would be a really interesting correlation to listen to. Still valuable information none the less.
Sam's Fundamentals of Lighting classes are amazing. My works improved a lot after learning from him. An excellent teacher I would say.

The bouncelight should mix with the local color. Specular bouncelight retains the light color
