This is super helpful, but I think I actually paid too much attention to this last night, when I watched it; I woke up after the most terrible nightmare this morning, where I was chased by a backlit (non-feathered) T-rex, and every time it ate someone, I could see it swallowing people through the skin because it somehow had low density flesh :'( Very scary.
But I think it means that I really took in the info in the video! XD

Ahahaha oh no!! But I guess that means the information really stuck with you :P

I *knew* I was missing something about light. I could see these effects, but I couldn't categorize/explain them. Mind blown!

Just wow man. I knew the concept of SSS but not this detailed. The types of sss on objects and how it will behave with other surface too. Plus the Variable sss was definitely one which i never knew. Super thanks for this demo Bobby. really really reallyy helpful!!

1:40 Subsurface scattering = Pinball scattering
The Pinball (light) goes in, bounces around, and gets out.

The funny thing is that photographers often increased the local contrast to counteract the subsurface scattering effect (wrinkles and pores lit by the inside so less contrast)
