  • Key VFX concepts for non-experts.
Subsurface scattering (SSS) is a mechanism of light transport in which light penetrates the surface of a translucent object, interacts with the material internally, and then exits from a different location.
It's crucial in 3D modeling for rendering materials like skin, wax, marble, or any other substance where light must scatter beneath the surface to achieve realistic appearances.
This effect gives a softer and more natural look to the surface, particularly noticeable in the way light diffuses through materials.

they've just make it complex for me. How the fck am I gonna supposed to change a little bit my skin texture transferred from the substance painter with that weird settings, they don't even work somehow

Not sure how effective this would be for you but if you want it more similar to the previous model you can add an RGB node to the radius node and select the colour that way... That might help.
