    Why do you rip around in Sport mode, being so concerned about 0-60 times?? This is a HYBRID!!!. I want a hybrid for the gas mileage. I want the Touring for the luxury and the ride quality. I do not want to race anyone and try to beat you to 60mph. If that was my goal, I would buy a Tesla S Plaid.

    Why not just put on gloves in the winter for the steering wheel! We’ve gotten spoiled. Would have been helpful to hear a sample of the Bose system. Do you really need a spare tire?! Most people use road service. Can’t remember last timeI got a flat, maybe a slow leak is more common. Looking forward to a road test this spring. Content with my Acura TL 2003 so far but definitely time to sell it. Thanks. Yeah, I do have hood struts but even those had to be replaced once as the hood would creep downward.

    It will surprise many, but the Accord not mid-sized. It is classified as a large car by the EPA (116 ft^3 passenger + 17 ft^3 cargo=123 ft^3), and has been since 2018. In that era, Toyota's Camry (100+15=115) and Avalon (103+16=119) are Mid-sized. And the new Crown is almost compact (98+13=111).
    But the reason I'm commenting is because (14:30) there is no "hybrid assist" and you aren't "passing 3000 rpm." It is a electric car that, at least for acceleration, is driven entirely by an electric motor. The engine is driving a generator, and the generator plus battery are providing the juice. And it would accelerate faster, and get better mileage, if Honda hadn't caved in to the pistonheads who demanded the fake shifts.

    Honda has been heading in the wrong direction since COVID. Cutting corners wherever they can. No-homelink, even on the touring model without having to pay extra. No vents in the back for many trim levels. no spare tire. No AWD option. No SiriusXM, No heated steering wheel option. No Panosunroof. and it continues. As a prior Honda fanboy I am so disappointed, and this does not even address the tame/lame new 11th gen design. Toyota on the other hand, with the new 2025 Camry, is knocking it out of the park: Much more powerful engine, AWD available, Homelink available, heated steering wheel available, spare tire provide, has SiriusXM, has a Panosunroof, vents for the rear seats. Not to mention, a really cool new exterior and interior design. Toyota continues to move forward, while Honda is moving backwards. I really wanted the 11th gen Accord, as I have owned 3 accords in the past and currently drive a 2020 Accord. So disappointed Honda!!!

    • @stevehoppenjan
      @stevehoppenjan 6 месяцев назад +4

      Depends on your priorities. You want top end or blow people away at a stop light, of course, the 2.0T is better. You want to drive like a grown up and get concerned about high gas prices, the Hybrid is the way to go, hands down. Still handles well enough for most drivers. I have the new Touring and almost always have it in Econ mode. Quick enough for my driving! My son has the 2.0T and averages 25mpg. I average 46 with the Touring Hybrid according to the trip computer. 11th Gen Touring definitely quieter with less road noise.

    • @redcapote4760
      @redcapote4760 3 месяца назад

      @@stevehoppenjan Are the suspension and shocks any better also? I don't love it on my 2020 Accord LX. I always think about finding something to replace the stock ones with something more damping, quiet, and cloud-like.

    • @stevehoppenjan
      @stevehoppenjan 3 месяца назад

      @@redcapote4760 That is a good question. I have to admit, I'm not sure. All I know is that the result of tires/wheels, shocks, suspension results in better ride. I think the Touring has a really good ride, probably the best ride in any Accord in it's lifetime (I've owned several). However, if "cloud like" is your goal, stick to the trim levels with the 17" wheels. The ride will always be better. Or go with a model with the 19" and swap them out for the 17". I just drove my Touring 1000 miles on a trip recently, and I have no complaints about the ride or the road noise. Everyone's tolerance is different. It's not a Lexus ride, but close enough for me!

    • @redcapote4760
      @redcapote4760 3 месяца назад +1

      @@stevehoppenjan 17's for sure. I don't want a 19" with slim sidewalls. The purpose of this car is not sport, so I'm not even sure why Honda is so aggressive with the slim profile tires on its family (and obviously not sport or spirited inspired) sedans. I bought some Goodyear Assurance Comfortdrive tires (225/50R-17) and plan to either upgrade my existing 2020 Accord with them or put them on a new 2024 Accord Hybrid EX-L.

    I like this car but i cant pull any triggers on it now. i have to sit back and do my research and find a good car that meets all my needs. because the last time i bought a car i rushed and then after i bought i went and looked up a bunch of reviews on the car. All i gotta say about that is dont you hate when you buy a car that you like alot but then figure out you either over paid or couldve gotten something way better for a couple more dollars? well thats what happened to me and a vowed to myself that i wouldnt let that happen again and that i would take my time and do the research on the cars that i want to buy and see what the best option is out there because if i dont im gonna just be dissapointed lol. But its most def going to be a honda or a acura mist likey because the new honda interiors and the new looks on the accord and really the civic is insanely good. like the civic doesnt look like a "honda" or a "cheap" car. the interior is out of this world and beats most high end interiors right now. the infotanment system is super responsive and the rest of the car (seats, air vents, steering wheel, and the gauge cluster). doesnt look like a honda. especially the civic. if you compare the civic to the old one you will be stunned that they call this new car a civic. this civic is by far the best looking civic they have ever made.

Just visualize yourself trying to repair a flat tire in the middle of the night in the rain rain on a car that doesn't have a jack or tire iron. Since I have been making these comments Honda has come up with a spare tire kit you can buy for $500 that gives you the missing content.

    I find it frustrating that they feel the need to put shifting into a vehicle that doesn't have a gearbox.
    I have a 2019 Accord Hybrid, it just pulls, there's no fake shifting BS.
    Americans need to learn that NOT shifting is significantly more efficient and get over their puny emotions.

    • @themelancholyofdude959
      @themelancholyofdude959 5 месяцев назад +1

      This probably sounds unreasonable to most, but I find programming a CVT to mimic shifting so offensive that I don't think I could buy a CVT that fake shifts. Every time I'm in a CVT that does a fake shift I'm just thinking "Wow this car should be accelerating slightly faster, but it revved down for no good reason."
      I'm just mad because in 2019 the Accord hybrid didn't shift (this was literally a major deciding factor in my buying one). To me it was the car that was supposed to destroy stupid BS CVT shifting not join them.
      I guess I'm just stuck waiting until the Accord goes full electric.
      Thank you for coming to my TED talk about my middle class first world problem.
