Most people say Deadpool was the 1st R-Rated comic book adaptation. But for me Watchmen holds that title. It's one of the best comic book movies out there.

It's becasue if they record at normal speed, the actor would have to actually punch the other actor. As you see in 1:33 the punches are fake so nobody gets hurt. In the intro scene they had to show every detail, that's why they are acting in slow-mo
Also because high speed cameras are expensive even today. to get something that could shoot in a high FPS so it would have a smooth replay back then would have been a huge cost
Watchmen was pretty underrated at the time. I was always confused how some people disliked it for sticking too close to the source material while others disliked it for straying too far away from the source material. I think that Snyder found just the right balance. I'm not really a fan of Snyder's more recent movies but Watchmen is one of my favorites!
God, this is why i love Snyder. His movies are so artistic, he has his actors that do their fighting stunts to a level, his action choreography is epic (no shaky camera scenes like Nolan or Marvel movies), and his visuals are so god like. Such an amazing director. I want more from him. Watchmen, MoS, 300, and BvS are my favorites so far. I've watched them to death, and i still can't get enough.

Zack Snyder stands in the line of one the most under appreciated & underrated film makers of all time. He mesmerized us with 300 & then doubled it with Watchmen. This movie making scene is a proof of how much he is involved in every aspect of the movie & not just treated it as another money making opportunity sadly which the movie studios have resorted to in the present days. I heartly wish He makes a comeback & that His work is genuinely recognized.

She may not be the best actor, but props to Malin Åkerman for doing her own stunts. Given the way her hair flies in front of her face I always assumed a stunt double stepped in for the fight scenes.
They actually did the same to Henry Cavill, sort of. While the fire on him in The oil rig rescue was cgi, the fire surrounding him was real and they put the flame retardant gel on him. Apparently it was so hot that when he finished the seconds long shot of walking through the fire, the gel had dried up and cracked.
I dont understand why people hate snyder view of directing any movie....i like all hiss movies especially this one regardless i never knew that its a graphic novel adaptation. But i loved first time i see it..
