I mean to be fair titan has upped their quality from where they started as purely cheap chinesium garbage. Thats when i bought my rack from them, definitely wasnt quality but its been good for me the past 5yr lol
Yes ring colors please. Really like this design. I bet we start seeing a lot more collars in the future with this style of locking. Thanks so much for sharing.
I've had mine for a few weeks now and I LOVE THEM! And you absolutely can set and remove them one handed as long as you have some weight on the bar. The only thing you might have to be careful about is removing them if you have small plates on because the magnets could pull them off the bar too if you're not careful.
10:51 I love my 2" dumbell weights (like the green one) to use on a barbell I feel if you are not lifting 100s of lbs, there is no need for the cumbersome larger diameter 45 lb weights, unless you need the height for deadlifts. There's plenty of room on the loading pin to put 200-250 lbs on, enough for me who isn't super strong and never does heavy singles due to advanced age
heya coop. couldn't find any yet but you can create a guide or review 2nd gloor gyms? ended up buying a house with no driveway so can't use the garage. first floor just has a living room/kitchen so upstairs it is for a home gym. missus wants a treadmil (marathon runner) and i mainly do free weights (rogue squat stand for bench/skwatz). no deadlifts needed
Torture Fail! Did not get yeeted off a roof on a Rogue DB15 dumbbell handle with two 45lb dumbbell bumpers! c'mon Coop, those green bumpers are good for this!!!
whats the locking mechanism? the real question is would repeated drops- ie testing not brand new but after months of overhead drops- would it still be gripping and holding comparable to brand new, would repeated drops be damaging the lock mechanism over time
since your review I was interested but they are out of stock for the last month. They must be popular. Supposed to send me an email once back in stock. I like the build on these.
I discovered titan fitness in 2015 and I exclusively only bought equipment from them just because the quality has always been amazing for home use and the free shipping cannot be beat!! Titan is my saving grace unfortunately I can never get my hands on their bumper plates because they’re always sold out like their adjustable 200lb dumbells!! I did get my bar from rogue because the boneyard had Ohio bars for $150 which got me a beautiful black oxide Ohio bar but I did get the 60 in bar from titan for small accessory work and because of my limited space it allows me to do barbell exercises in a limited amount of space
I've been trying to find the perfect collar for my young kid. I don't trust him to use the Rogue aluminum ones without losing a finger or breaking his hand taking them off. These might just be the perfect solution!
Coop any chance you'll be reviewing the MAXUM Fitness SX2? Seems like one of the best all-in-one racks on the market and really good value for all it includes but there's not much coverage of it!
Nice design, for some reason I feel like I'd like a nice fancy set of clips but I find that I can easily fit & remove the bog standard cheapo style clamps easily with only one hand & they are more than adequate for normal weight lifting so I've yet to see a fancy barbell clip that would make me want to ditch my cheapos.
Hmmmm... was very interested to use at my gym because all the plastic collars are worn and loose... but $70 is kinda steep for a quick fix. Especially simce the Rogue's are $20 cheaper and hold better. I HATE wobbly plates lol
Cool idea and looks like a solid product but not sure I can justify spending over $50 on barbell collars. Also, agree that the Rogue collars are better in terms of security but have you ever hit your knuckle with the clasp? Ouch! Not hard to do especially when tired...
Seems like a pretty easy torture test. A lot of CrossFit exercises have 20-60 reps. I’d assume dropping it a dozen or so times will cause them to loosen. Why so few reps in the test?
I really like these had I not picked up the rogue aluminum ones I probably would get these. Getting the rogue ones off and on are a little bit of a bitch for an old weak handed putz like myself...
Like reviewers in just about every other industry, we sometimes get samples ahead of time. Especially when the companies think what they've got is good. - Coop
@@pkd.81 more like they filmed this prior to the launch and had it ready upon the product being released. As far as being paid even IF true as long as the review is honest showing the cons and benefits I take no issue. Thank you for the "congrats" but I don't need it for watching a video about a product I was genuinely interested about even if an infomercial. Hey congrats on commenting (see it's off-putting)...
While I get the safety aspect of not having collars on when benching, I really hate the plates moving around. Someone should make a collar that is purposefully weak, so it can hold the plates together, but will slide off if you fail and tip the bar.
testing HOLD is best done w/ multiple plates like 45s and 3pr of 10s so you get the energy transfer effect which really loosens... especially from an overhead drop onto stall mats on concrete
I have a friend he owns a CrossFit gym he bought some pull up bars for his rig to add to the class rig and 2 of them was from titan fitness. He had 2 people jump up on the titan bar and after the first person it was fine the second person the next day the bar broke off the rig the bar was bolted in to the up rights all the holes had bolts in it was super tight as well. The bar broke at the right after the bracket that attaches to the rig the weld broke on it. They refuse to use titan equipment for now on.
If you don't do anything crazy with the bar just go to harbor freight. Buy some cheap plastic clamps that are big enough. They're like 2$ each. I use them all the time on squat and deadlift. I have even used them on Olympic lifts to varying degrees of success. If they break no big deal go buy another one or two or just put duct tape on it.
Titan and Patent were two words that I’d never expected to be together 😅
I've been expecting it for a long time, along with one more word: Lawsuit.
Now we wait for Rogue to take the idea and turn the tables.
I mean to be fair titan has upped their quality from where they started as purely cheap chinesium garbage. Thats when i bought my rack from them, definitely wasnt quality but its been good for me the past 5yr lol
@@greekd00d69Even the cheap Chinese crap they used to make was solid as hell.
@@greekd00d69 9 years later, my T3 rack is still standing, I was able to afford quality benches, bars ect.
Shoutout to titan for allowing me to effectively train at home at an affordable price. Will support them always.
Coop is probably the single most reason that we get so much knurling these days. Thanks Bud!
Talked to Titan at home gym con. They tested them to 20,000 cycles with no issues and have been using them at the hq gym for 6 months with no issues
Not the knurled horse stall mats that I wanted, but it's the correct step in that direction.

These look dope! The knurling, aluminum and the magnets sold me. Just bought a pair. Thank you for the great review as always Coop!!
The lack of Titan/tighten puns is disappointing.
Well I just pulled the trigger after seeing this advertised for the 3rd time. These look pretty nice.
This is a crazy month there was the new rep cable system, repxpeppin dumbells, and the Nuobell 240’s, and now these
Yes ring colors please. Really like this design. I bet we start seeing a lot more collars in the future with this style of locking. Thanks so much for sharing.
Those look really nice. I don't need collars but I sort of want these anyway.
Do it.
Knew this was coming once they announced. This design is incredibly smart. Magnetic, knurled, simple twist, aluminum.
Rogue are what I have and the only ones I trust for my adjustable dumbbell handles but do like the magnet part for the titans
I know they are just collars but I like the innovation. Great video as usual!
Still waiting for the restock!
These look really nice, seems like they hold up well for general use.

Love the channel and love you coop, that stash is going to take over the channel soon enough though, be careful.
Thanks to coop, I am now a proud owner of titan locking collars.
I'd love to see an updated review on the GR3 rack.

I'd prefer colors. Black accessories on a black rubber floor or on a black rack, or in a half-lit garage gym, disappears too easily.

How about integrating this locking mechanism directly into the plate itself? Then any plate can lock and you don't need a collar at all.
