Thanks for the video man. New 5amp battery owner here. Got a deal for it with the charger and the 1/2 impact wrench. Works like a charm for $100 i believe this brand will just get better overtime.

The 6 port Bauer battery charger you mentioned at the end of the video is wonderful. I picked it up recently and love it. It's perfect for battery storage even when not charging. I own just about every power tool in the Bauer line and this new 12ah battery is going to be perfect my pole saw and chainsaw.

I can see it being useful for the Bauer Chainsaw. I've used the Milwaukee chainsaw, and it needed the 12ah battery for optimal performance. Price compared between the two is you can almost get two Bauer 12ah batreries for one Milwaukee 12ah battery. To me, that's amazing. Granted, for most Bauer tools its to big. However, as you mentioned, the heavy draw tools will shine with it. I look forward to seeing you test it out.

I don't think I need anything over 5 amp hour batteries , what would you use it on?
SDS hammer drill, high torque impact wrench, chainsaw, pole saw, wet dry vac?
@@BuildALotAcresI can tell you without the 12 amp hour battery I would be struggling to drill in bolts into granite for rock climbing. The power it adds is amazing
The string trimmer is what I need it for. Under heavy use it takes two 5ah batteries to trim my yard and the power drops off quickly so hopefully the 12 solves that for me.
I think it would be good during a power outage in combination with their inverter, to keep phones and computers charged and running.

Great video man thanks for making it I've been waiting and constantly looking here on RUclips for someone to be reviewing the Bauer 12ah battery and it seems like it took forever for them to finally come out with it and I like how you compare them all side by side as well to show the size difference plus how you talk about the weight difference and Hercules didn't always have the 12ah battery but they definitely got it way before Bauer did and I do want to get 1 of these myself but I just don't like the fact that it's $5 more than the equally sized Hercules battery that has a much better warranty so I'm thinking in a few months maybe the price will go down to like $120 for the Bauer 12ah battery and then if I can get like a 20% off coupon or something I can get it for about $100 bucks give or take or if I can get a free good tool with it if they have an offer like that sometime then I'm gonna do that maybe but I do think this will probably be the biggest size that they will come out with like you believe even though some companies have 15 or 16ah batteries I just kind of don't think Bauer will but Bauer is the best bang for your buck really and I do think it's under appreciated as a tool brand and I don't think I would have got very many cordless power tools at all if it wasn't for Bauer with their much more affordable price compared to most all other companies or tool brands but I appreciate the video man keep them coming.

I'm too invested in Makita to consider any other brand. That said I AM interested in a future video on the 12 amp hour Bauer battery because Makita offers much higher amp hour batteries than what I have (5 ah) and I have been tempted to buy a pair of Makita's higer amp hour offering batteries, but I am not sure it is really worth it for a little longer run time at a much greater cost.
They do sell adapters that adapt the Bauer batteries and Hercules batteries to the Makita 18 volt
We need the tear down! im super interested to see if they are like the other batteries on the inside with more cells
Edit: it says they have 21700 type cells

Just remember when he says or Bauer says or anybody says more power you don't get added power you get power for a longer amount of time that's what they mean when they say more power
@@OU812NVME Despite all being “20V”, due to the larger amount of cells, the bigger AH batteries do perform better in cutting, drilling, driving, etc. Not just duration, but in the moment power. Sorry to hear that Bill. I bought a battery drill there like 25 years ago. It was blue, I forget the brand, but it really sucked. I returned it fairly quickly and didn’t buy any other power tools from HF for about 20 years.

I just picked one up last night started charging it and this morning it's still only has one blue dot. Currently charging on the rapid charger. Is this thing ever going to charge where do I need a different charger?
@@grandnagelyou need at least a 3A charger. So either the dual port, the rapid-plus, or the 6-port charger. Rapid charger is 1.7 or 1.8A I don’t remember.

12ah is the biggest in either Bauer and Hercules line.
