You got that right I've been a fan of Eminem ever since I was a kid and that was 30 years ago this song does hit different because you got to know the story for this song to hit you
Feeling for someone you don't know is just called empathy. Too many people don't have it, or suppress it because "why should I care about a stranger?" But empathy is a core part of being not only human, but a *good* human. Embrace it, even when it hurts, and learn from others' pain and pleasures as they may learn from yours.
It's a nice thought but that isn't what empathy is. It's the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. Has nothing to do with whether you know them or not.
@@OlSmokyDaBear That's my point: empathy doesn't discriminate based on personal familiarity. Empathy exists for your friends just as much as it does for strangers; it's all the same.
I love watching all the various reactor reactions. This song hits us all the same. I have great empathy for Em, Jelly Roll and all that have addictions. Love this song. Love Jelly Rolls song.
We've known so much about Em and his life for so long because he's been so incredibly honest with us since day 1. That's why his fans/his audience feels like they know him/ relate to him/ connect with his music.
It’s so much more sad when you realize all the things he was talking about were things he would have missed had he died when he overdosed. For him, for his daughters/family this is a very happy story, obviously with pain. The sad part about this song is there are drug addict fathers that do not make it to the other side. Really sad song. I am a recovering addict, or whatever you call it, gardening and bodybuilding help me, unfortunately not everyone has an outlet.
@@jenniferhuff4895 Thank you so much. Being a single married mother of a disabled adult child amidst many other things makes me thing of using again. Thankful I have enough self restraint these days.
I will always have love and empathy for people struggling with addiction! My sister gave me a perspective that I could have never gotten any other way. Not even as a nurse!
I cry EVERYTIME i hear this song. Its so relatable as most of us know someone going thru some type of addiction. My tears are happy tears tho because he made it, jelly roll made it and countless others. Eminem can really do it all. Thank you Em for showing us just how valuable you are.
yeah I feel for him as well with this song being a long time fan, pretty much from day one. All the changes he's been through, all he has accomplished. And now he inspires from his struggles. I think a lot of people will feel personally close to him due to this song and Temporary. Even those who don't normally like his music.
I love this track. I can relate to some of what he's talking about. I have a lot of respect for the man's ability to pull himself out of the things that were dragging him down.
The art level is too good, that is why you can even relate without having lived through it. Imagine what it does to somebody that has lived through something like that
It’s a strange thing caring about someone you don’t know but you feel like you do. Had nothing to do with it but proud of him for getting clean. I remember feeling pretty emotional when Halie graduated college 😂 I straight up cried when I saw the picture of him dancing with her at her wedding. Same when I see his other kids accomplishments. It’s a very weird thing lol
The song is beyond incredible so emotional and the video couldn’t be any better….damn man if this doesn’t make u feel sort of way then u don’t have a heart …did u notice how the lights start to flicker more and more towards the end? The flickering lights are representing death and faster the lights flicker the closer he is to overdosing …. Eminem and Jelly Roll are phenomenal ..the words everything about this song phenomenal…
Your reaction to songs are so relatable to me, this one more than ever! People who have been there since day 1 know his struggles and he’s still going, phenomenal artist
Please react to: LET THE GUITAR SING by Aj Ghent It’s such and awesome guitar blues solo that has no words but you can hear the lyrics in your head while he plays
Great reaction fischtank brother I do really like hearing your thoughts on these breakdowns, you having experience in music also helps get a different perspective from not just a fan but an artist as well.
PLEASE please please listen to Coal - Dylan Gossett. Great song about loss, frustration, and rebuilding. Heavily similar to some Zach Bryan’s songs. There’s a certain lyric that’ll really hit you deep.
@KBRoller Slim Shady died with the overdose. I think he wants people to understand why he can't bring slim shady back. His daughters are too important and as a person he has to focus on sobriety. The only way slim could come back is thru a portal from 2002, and that's the concept of the album. That's the only way to bring Shady back, because he died in the overdose.
@@kmhbelieve Nice theory but slim doesnt actually have anything to do with the drugs, he was doing slim shady before he did drugs. This slim shady being a result of drugged up marshall is a recent invention to the character
This was a song that gives people light on how drugs affects the tightest bonds we have in life. Pretty Slowly by Benson Boone is a great listen, you should check it out.
Hello my name is Emily and i am 23 and i am technically a life long fan my mom was listening to him since i was infant and this song is so sad my dad wasnt a addict but he was in and out of my life and when he got me he was always in bed so i had to learn to just be by myself on his weekends i am working on a relationship with him now
What appearing with jelly roll combined with his story. I would have known nothing of him if I hadn't seen a collab of him with Ronnie radke falling in reverse. I am an emotional overload myself but almost the opposite of yours. I had no information and had never listened to anything remotely related to Eminem until this last month or so. A strange thread of things going through the videos I was discovering by reactors led me to finally check him out. When was the first person to listen to rappeling then somehow falling in reverse had all these genres mixed into one song then between the two of them I kept saying things about NF and a new thing came out his hope song that apparently was also something that was accumulation of all his past and a lot of resolution after therapy. in that credit was being given to Eminem and mentioned a lot right at the same time then everyone started reacting to Houdini as it came out. Another video / song for every line apparently was reference to some other well-known thing in his catalog. I was hooked. Checking out this songs that have the connections at the same time learning more about the journey of Marshall Mathers. It's like I've had a crash course and I've been so intimately entwined with everything about him all of a sudden there's this and it is like a punch in the gut with the pain that he's portraying. Anyway... Just blabbing along letting you know that it's not just for the initial fans even though I know that has to have an exceptional figure impact as well. Guess we don't realize how much the music and the artists are are ingrained into us. Thanks for keeping it real.
He once said he used to have cameras set up everywhere in his home because his drug addiction gave him seizures, so he needed the security cameras in case of any medical emergency. Of course he needed a camera facing his bed in case he had a seizure while sleeping.
You dont even have to be an eminem fan to relate to this. You just have to have people you love and cherish that you dont wanna miss out on
I can’t imagine how children of addicts must feel when listening to this song
It’s tough buddy
Broken
It kills me because my parents won't ever get clean. This is literally their future. I just wish they'd quit.

I thinknits from the perspective of Slim Shady
This is when he died. Drugs got him
I don't think it's from Slim's perspective, as much as it's from Marshall's perspective if Slim (and the drugs) won.
