after restarting on retail after a couple years I was so fucking disappointed. while leveling I rarely saw anyone. crossrealm destroyed any sense of community in the game.

Because this is not an MMORPG anymore. People in the current game could just have easily been replaced with NPCs/bots and I would not be able to tell the difference. What leveling? - You can level from 0-100 mostly naked and skip at least 60% of all the quests. - There is no longer any need to strategize (just pull as much mob as you can and swoop them) - There is no longer any need to gear-up at all, which means farming ressources is useless and will not sell well on the AH anyways - Because of the above line, crafting is completely irrelevant (you used to make good money on greens even, and when you crafted blues, that was nice) - Even dungeons are lol-rushed without challenge, and greatly rewards player doing them by spamming nice blue gear at them. - Because there is no challenge, it's harder to form parties (and quite useless while leveling) which limits interaction with other online folks. I reactivated my account back in 2015, and I was level 90 in little over a week and I wasn't even trying. Far too easy (well except end-game stuff but I do not play for that) I heard everything is even quicker now that Legion went out last september. I didn't care before, but now I kind of want a TBC-Legacy server (barring that I'll take Vanilla or WotLK, but my favorite races are from TBC). Same thing happened with FF11 (they killed the soul of the game with Abyssea)... ...and SW:TOR with their easymode companions and x3-x5 leveling (outlevelling every game experiences you could do). Guess it's lights out until legacy servers for WoW, and when WOW does it it might trigger other companies to try it as well. The laugh was worth it... I am of the same opinion too.
This is why I always want to punch posters in the face that say "classic sux server will be dead in 2 weeks" and act like the current game is completely better.

Biggest problem with Garrison: 1) You can do everything there so why leave? aka forever alone 2) Followers do everything for you, just log on and do missions and log off. Order halls fix: 1) Class shared space aka you wont be alone 2) Followers only finds out stuff for you, gotta get rewards for yourself aka content to do. and the thing that i like the most so far in Legion is: 1) no flying for at least half the expansion, which means bigger chance for world pvp. 2) there will be many many many many world missions each hour / day / week and all will have the same so there will be many people all over fighting for the same thing aka again world pvp and you can bring friends since all needs the same world events anyway.
