Look at that dirt! I was there that day and the racing was awesome. Long gone are those days when the competition was vicious. Every rider fought tooth and nail for every position. Nothing like these days where guys settle in their positions then just circulate. The state of racing now is just plain sad. Everyone is just trying to collect a check and say "I'll get them next year."
This track was the premier track in America before they took a bulldozer to it and ruined it. They changed the start, they changed the track and all of the changes were for the worse. Trying to make it into an outdoor sx track which it will never be. Such a shame!
Thanks fir posting. Was there and great to see again. Sad how crappy this track has become. Not seeding and letting grass grow which was the key to holding the loamy topsoil, coupled with running am events and the ridiculous demands of MX Sports ( filled in starts, man made obstacles etc) ruined it
I couldn't agree more. What greed has done to this track is obscene. I was there also (from '86 until present) and not only was the racing great, but the party the night before was out of control as usual. Now it's like going to church. I remember watching Johnny O' running out of gas on the last half lap and Hannah inheriting both the moto and the overall wins. The place was going NUTS!! Too bad those days are gone and they're never coming back.
@@stkyfngrszmooth My first race there was in 1972 and this track has the same "bumps" then as it did back then....only bigger. Now it's a piece of sh*t.
This is how motocross racing should be, not that pussy afraid to touch or steal a line from somebody that they do today. BTW, That corner on the last lap where Stanton tried to pass LaRocco but came up short, used to have a tree growing in the inside of the turn in that dip. That is where Hannah was run over by DeCoster trying to block pass him in the 1978 Trans AMA race and it smashed Hannah's pipe shut. Happened right in front of me.
@jamesadams2334 They didn't do the track any favors by throwing all of those supercross jumps in there either. Unadilla used to be THE motocross track of the United States, but now it's just another beat-up rocky burnt up mess.
I was at this race, one of the last years they allowed camping across the street, holy shit that was a party.... they burned a Ryder truck and rolled it into the lake.....
Speedway guy live feed with back turned while first and second place almost clip him with their handlebars on the gas! Who's idea was this I wonder? Was waiting for him to get pile driven!
Although I hate them personally, I couldn't help but think about how well a four stroke would hook up on this deep, tacky loam. Seems like there's a lot of wasted wheelspin on the two strokes.
Thank you for uploading this! Awwwwwww what a classic! Sure miss those days!

Stanton and LaRocco, two of the all time greats. Don't forget about Trampas Parker, the first American two-time World Champion.
thankyou very much l was there and to see this again is great
The good days before ESPN sold out to MLB, NBA and the NFL

Thank you for posting this!
and why would anyone think this track needed changed ?
Idk 🤷🏻♂️ But when they brought that new soil in, it ruined it. Should’ve left it grass/dirt
@@Steezy_Mx should have left it totally the same. It is sh*t now.
@@jamesadams2334 That is exactly what I just said 🤦🏻♂️
Great shat!!!!! Watching Easter morning. Thanks for posting.Man miss those days.✌🏻❤️

Yo man the newts 🦎!
And did you see me out there. I had third then I feel behind Larocco and Dymond . DILLA !
@@visser677 Ha!!!
Yeah they ruined it for the rest of us, assholes
Can you see the difference between the 2stroke days and todays 4strokes? Back then that track was BRUTAL.
Jeff Stanton was one of my favorite riders.
Bayle destroyed Stanton 😂
22:13 cameraman got roosted
Ah 91 when torrential downpours were all the norm
Who would of thought that the section named screw u would be so offensive to people
Aren't they the same people sitting on the edge of their seats watching Scrabble tournaments?
Jeff is riding great but I think they missed the set up too stiff back to u Dan Bentley....
The Unadilla motocross GP track full of tracks and holes.
Great video, the volume sucked though. I suppose that is what happens when you post vintage videos. Love it though, thank you

Thanks 4 this! 40 minutes +2 laps..... what do they run now?
30+ 2
Can barley hear anything.
Real mx racing
26:49 Damn straight.

modern 4 strokes would spin almost as much here. I did see BSA mx bikes on it back in 72.
Proper motocross
Hey, if you have any Carlsbad or the Detroit Silverdome, I would really appreciate it the more the merrier❤👍🎯
