Thank you so much for sharing. I love to see quilts. I had not been to a show in over 30 years until this year. My granddaughter and I went to Quiltcon since it was in Raleigh, NC. My take away was that the only thing that matters is what is in the mind of the maker, anything goes. All quilts are unique and beautiful whether it is the first quilt of the maker or their 10th blue ribbon quilt - enjoy YOUR journey.

That is so amazing! Makes me wish i had gotten into quilting when i was younger. Limited by arthritis now. But these sure do inspire!

Wow these quilts are amazing beautiful! I would love to to go a quilting show to inspire me. I live in CA t last weekend went to Huntington library museum they had some quilts in the 1800's was incredible with only the hand sewing quilts!

On my third rerun of your video! I had to slow it down to get better looks at all that magnificent work. How on earth could you pick winners when they are ALL winners? Thanks for taking us to the show with you. You did a great presentation.

Fabulous show! Only thing missing is the Fantastic "Boot quilt" you made for your friends Airbnd. What was the final name for that quilt as you were taking suggestions?
Both of the guilds I belong to have a Local Quilt Shows every 2 years. Fortunately one is in the even years and the other is in the odd years. The talent in local guilds is amazing. In one guild we separate Artisan (quilters who quilt “not professionally”) from Professional quilters. And that way the ribbons are given in both categories. We found non-professional quilters not wanting their quilts judged for ribbons, because “So-and-so always wins best of show so why would I try”. Where “So-and-so” is a professional quilter. In our next show we will award 2 Best of Shows, one for each category. These are both small to medium size guilds (125-150 members). We do have vendors at the shows, and do other fund raising activities within the show (raffle baskets, Raffle Quilt etc) please visit and support local shows. First of all the talent and artistry is phenomenal and, They are often the major fund raising events for the sponsoring guild or group. Both of my guilds do a tremendous amount of charity work ( Habit for Humanity, Quilts of Valor etc)and the funds help to purchase batting and backings in particular for the donated quilts.
That sounds so wonderful and really let's everyone's artwork be shown and enjoyed.
