I watched at least 3 other tutorials on this and this is by far the best one I found. Something as insignificant as explaining the sheet’s plastic back “stickiness”, helped me understand how it stays put. When starting a project for the first time… Im not one to “wing it” and need a clear understanding of every step of the process and why. I will be starting my first project now so Thank you!!!
This was super helpful! I just made my first mugs yesterday and have been trying to understand how to layer colors. The whole part about doing different cuts had me a little mystified but I think I can do this now!
The grid design on the transfer sheet can sometimes apply to the mug, so I trimmed it just in case. The heat resistant tape doesn’t leave any ink behind, so I always feel safer using it.
Great tutorial - i tried something like this the other day - inset the other pieces - of course i tried to make them fit and they didnt exactly. Turned out ok - today I decided to re-fire black silhouettes of heron over a full background press of another color - of course I knew the background would fade and it did - next experiment will be to inset the heron or flamingos - and so be it if there is a white “highlight” around the pieces!
That sounds beautiful!! I love how many options there are to customize. Would you share photos in our Facebook craft group? It’s called: Cricut Mug Press Crafting
I have a design I made with two colors for a mug. I have it lined up in the mug template in design space but when I try to cut it, it doesn't stay in place. It separates the two colors onto their own mats but the actual design is spread out all across the mat rather than staying in place where I had it. Can anyone help?
Hi, before you click “make it” select everything in each colour set (layer) and click “attach” this will keep everything together on your mat where it’s supposedly be. Hope this makes sense

Great video. Didn’t see you apply the butcher paper, however. Thanks
Brilliant 👏
It's like paper-piecing or putting together a puzzle--very satisfying, LOL! Turned out pretty cool, Ashley!
Right! I’m really loving the Set and Slice method with these mugs!
amazing!!!!!!!

Yes I felt the same way too, but now I watched this I have a lot more confidence 😊
Great video 👍🏻😊
I love this technique. I really must give it a try! Thank you for sharing your creativity!

Thank you!
Very nice!
Thanks so much!
I love this design, can't wait for it being available in Australia
Hopefully soon!
Thank you for the great tutorial.
Omg that’s beautiful. Hey what if I forgot to add an image can I still do it after the image has been pressed?
I have a heat oven. Can I do the same process? I shrink film
Can you sublimate a layer 6then another one if you want to or must they all be done at the same time?
Is there a reason why you trimmed the sticky and then applied tape? Wouldn't the sticky you trimmed help hold it in place?

@@TheThriftyChica oh ok😊 I understand now. Thanks for this video. Very helpful.
i just recently made a mug press but the color from the sheet is dull. do you think it’s the type of infusible ink paper i used?

@@TheThriftyChica yes i will have to figure that out - the next two were fine doing the inset pieces -
Absolutely wonderful and very informative. Do you have the SVG that you used? Thank you!
Love this cup. Can you tell me the name of the Infusible Ink. I can't seem to find it.
Butcher paper comes in the infusible ink box?
How did you cut the design for each color?
Do we not need blowout paper when using infusible ink?
Can’t find this design anywhere on Cricut , can someone please tell me what the exact thing to search for please to find this
Thank you so much. That was super helpful.
They suggest you put butcher paper around the cut as well, you could transfer ink to the inside of the press

Does anyone else have the issue where the infusible ink doesn’t make that cracking noise?
Beautiful
