    Cell Phone Service: Telus, Bell, Koodo and Virgin Mobile. Service is fair. Web surfing, texting, phone calls work. Some buffering with videos. If you've been to this park please let us know your experience with cell service especially if your with a provider other than the ones previously mentioned.

      July 2024, Eastlink mobile service is pretty good. No issues texting, calling or surfing the web. Minor buffering on videos but most play through fine!

    My family did the exact same trip from Rainbow Falls Provincial Park to Pancake Bay with a stop in Wawa. By the time we got to Pancake it was late (pitch black) and we couldn't the fill station. On the map it shows where the dump station was but when we got there we couldn't find the water station. I watched your video and saw that it was on the other side of the mound which we couldn't see in the dark. So thanks!!

    Pancake is on my bucket list.. I'm a trucker, and I've been by more times than I can count, [so that's at least 4 times ;) ] it looks like a lake superior version of craiglieth, with sand! I would think the parks pretty popular with the Soo locals. Even with bachawana Bay close by... Most of those site look like they could handle 30 foot travel trailers with minimal drama...

      It's a fair observation to equate Craigleith and Pancake Bay. They are both right along the highway and very narrow parks between the highway and water. That's where the similarities end. Pancake Bay is WAY nicer than Craigleith.

    If you ever go back to Lake Superior you should go in August. In July that lake being so deep has only warmed up slightly from the freezing point. While bays like Pancake Bay have warmed up. I was at both Pancake Bay and Agawa Bay at the end of August this year and they were both 70 degrees and as warm as Lake Huron. It just takes a lot more time for that huge lake to warm up.

      You're the expert that we listen to when it comes to Lake Superior. We'll be heading that way again because there's more parks up there that we missed on this trip. We especially wished we could have made it to Neys. We'll try mid to late August next time. Thanks for the tip.

    Thank you so much for your great reviews of Lake Superior and Pancake Bay Provincial Parks, really great information. I am not RV-ing or camping, but planning a solo 6-day driving trip to Sault Ste Marie, Batchwana Bay, Lake Superior, Old Woman Bay, Wawa, and your video tours of the parks, trails, beaches, info on gas stations, etc. are excellent and so helpful! Love the content that you create, btw.

      Back from this trip - INCREDIBLE!! So happy I did it! And you are right: no pictures can do justice to Lake Superior and Hwy 17 views! Loved the apple fritters at Voyageur's and, thanks to your video on the Agawa Rock hike, I had the right footwear to actually get safely close to the pictographs :) You guys rock! Keep doing what you do!

    My favourite place on earth! We actually always get the back sites next to the highway and don’t mind it at all, the noise really is not as bad as it seems! The amphitheater was used for movie nights and other activities but unfortunately this park has ramped down these services a few years ago, right around the time they got the cabin. Unfortunate as the kids and families loved the movie nights!

      That's interesting that someone made a grill top to fit over the provincial park fire pits. I'm not sure if that style of firepit is common elsewhere. Thanks for sending the pic.

    Great review! we had a campsite on the second road in from the Highway 17. We left the park on the second day of a week trip there because we had to yell at each other at night around the campfire because of the trucks engine braking going south down the hill all night long. Felt like I was sleeping in a ditch beside the highway.😒 Nice beach !!

    • @CampingwiththeColes

    Pancake Bay has some some of the softest sand i ever felt. The lookout trail is nice but after the lookout the trail became really bushy, no maintance at all. Its okay, you do get to see pancake falls but it was hard hiking through it.

    • @CampingwiththeColes

    Beautiful coverage of the PP and the nearby attractions! Just a different kind of a question: What is driving like on the Trans Canada Highway along lake Superior where we have all these provincial parks? Is it scenic throughout or just in patches. Can we park an RV along side lake Superior anywhere to stretch our legs? I am asking this because we have a 6 year old young man, a bundle of energy, in our family.

    • @CampingwiththeColes
      @CampingwiththeColes  Год назад +2

      Most of it is very scenic. I had to stop Cheryl from constantly recording the drive because there is only so much video of the drive we can use in the video. She kept saying that there is just so much beauty she has to keep trying to capture it all. There are quite a few scenic lookouts and pullovers that you can pull into to stretch your legs and enjoy the view.

    • @CampingwiththeColes
      @CampingwiththeColes  7 месяцев назад

      The roads are good for big trailers. I don't know about how many sites can handle a rig of that size. You'll just have to check the site size when making your booking.
