    Reviewing the outhouses is great, I'm not a fan of them but if it is necessary well no choice. I do like the ones that have flush toilets with water in the. Grundy Lake has some of those.

      That is awesome! Cheryl loves the look of the Tab and really likes it but then I bring her back down to reality reminding her that she likes to pack A LOT OF STUFF and she likes her space in the trailer. I wish we could downsize a bit to open up more potential campsites. Happy camping!

    We were on site 113 in East Campground it was really nice. The kids enjoyed the falls. This park is tight though, some of the most narrow roads I have seen in a park yet. They definitely need to have a better layout for the dump station I think. So hopefully it sees some upgrades like other parks have.

    Enjoyed the East campground a few years ago, in August, along the water. Found it to be nice and quiet with no rowdy campers. The West campground seemed to be much busier and crowded. Good sized sites in the East camp. A true gem for enjoying the outdoors, kayaking and hiking. The location of the park is perfect for visiting Sauble and the Bruce area. Your video brings back happy times.

    It would be great if you could do a review of your kayaks. We are thinking about getting a pair so we are deciding whether we purchase sit in or sit on. I would like to see how you get in and out of your kayaks. You're doing a great job with your videos.

    • @CampingwiththeColes
      @CampingwiththeColes  2 года назад

      Thanks for the suggestion. I don't think we'll do a review of our current kayaks because they're pretty old and that model isn't made anymore. They are pretty inexpensive Pelican kayaks that we got from Costco. Each year Costco sells a slightly different version of the Pelican Kayak. I will say though that getting in and out is a bit tricky. Our friend has a sit on fishing kayak with the seat on a swivel. He easily sits down then swings his legs on. It's muck more convenient but I haven't looked at the cost.

    Love your videos as we plan for our maiden season with our new travel trailer. Like your friend, we have upgraded from a tent trailer that we used when our children were young. We would also like to weigh the trailer and tow vehicle before our first trip. Where did you go to do this. (We live in the same city as you)?

    • @CampingwiththeColes
      @CampingwiththeColes  Год назад

      We weighed our trailer at a gravel pit owned by a friend of the people we were camping with. Unfortunately, it's not open to the public. Flying J Travel Centers usually have a CAT scale where you can get it weighed. The one at the 401/Hwy 97 near Ayr is the closest one that has CAT scales. It's exciting thinking about heading out with a new trailer! Hope you get the reservations you're trying for. Happy camping!

      I ended up going solo with the dog. Two rainy nights. Stayed in east campground. Loved the comfort station. I’m now in a B van, I could not imagine using that dump station in a big rig. It was a good place to stay to explore Sauble Beach.

      The friend we camped with on this trip has a friend that owns a gravel pit in Wellesley. He allowed us to weigh our trailers there. Unfortunately it's not open to the public though. Must people get their trailers weighed at a CAT Scale that are often at truck stops. We've never used one there but they are supposed to be excellent and much more detailed than what we did.

    I spent the entire season across from the park at a private campground last year. I walked through Sauble Falls PP almost everyday with my dog, so I got to know the park and area well. The west comfort station is brand new from last season. I put my kayak in closer to the lake and paddled up to the falls, so coming back down was very pleasant. I would like to add that I saw a kayaker get stuck between the start of the falls and the bridge. Very intense rescue had to take place, so I would be very careful if I was kayaking upstream from the bridge. I also biked around that whole area and loved it. One thing you didn’t mention are the spectacular sunsets from the beach. It is called Ontario’s west coast for a reason. 😉 In any case, thanks for the review. I’m heading to Creighleith in a few weeks. I’ve been there before, but not for a few years, so I’ll check your review there. Happy camping!

    • @CampingwiththeColes
      @CampingwiththeColes  2 года назад

      Thanks for the info. You're right that we forgot to mention the sunsets. The lake Huron Parks; Pinery, Point Farms, Inverhuron and MacGregor Point are our most familiar parks over the year and we always talk about the amazing Lake Huron sunsets. We're just so used to them that it slipped our minds on this trip. Enjoy Craigleith. So much to do in that area. Happy camping!

    We booked the campsite right behind Cheryl’s left hand (at 4:24) (at the yellow posts across the road) in July! We know it’s a crappy site, but it’s only a 1 night stay and might end up being perfect for our kids to run around!

    • @chantellek3982
      @chantellek3982 2 года назад

      We just got back from Sauble Falls (and MacGregor Point).. You are right - campsites were packed, busy and you were on top of your neighbours. You could easily hear people's quiet conversations; we were always telling our kids to be quiet since we felt like we were in other ppl's "living rooms", and other kids screaming and running around until very late at night... went to MacGregor afterwards and couldn't even see our neighbours fire-glow through the trees, and couldn't hear any neighbours. Such an amazing difference.

    Even in summer, it’s still pretty quiet. It’s nice it’s spread out, east and west campgrounds. We won’t return till the water level drops so we can drive on the beach south of the main drag. I’m not paying $30 a day for the beach. Sauble isn’t in our top 10.

  • @ownerofjackthecat
    @ownerofjackthecat 2 года назад

    It is a nice park for people with young children, my kids spent hours playing on the falls. Plus the playground makes it a winner park for them. There isn't much privacy but during summer most campers are gone during the day.

    • @CampingwiththeColes
      @CampingwiththeColes  2 года назад +1

      We added the old pics of the kids playing in the falls because while we were there this time clearly, it wasn't a time for anybody to be in the falls. Our kids always loved the falls in the summer.

    • @louannekeast8575
      @louannekeast8575 2 года назад +1

      The site you are talking about i believe is a pull through. Don't think it mentions it in the description. We were on 105. Beware if it rains water runs from the top road at one side of the site towards the water so runs right through the site. The sites there hold the water our trailer mat was actually floating. When the rain stopped it drained fairly quickly, some of the sites didn't drain as well.

    What is your all time favourite place for kayaking?

    • @CampingwiththeColes
      @CampingwiththeColes  2 года назад +1

      We would have to say that Algonquin is our favourite for kayaking. You can kayak right from each campground such as Pog Lake, Mew Lake, Lake of Two Rivers, Cansibay etc and you can drive to any of the campgrounds you're not staying at and kayak from there. Sooo much kayaking to be done. It's great!

  • @Ultrafrozen
    @Ultrafrozen 2 года назад

    What about the tongue weight the trailer adds to the truck when hooked up? That affects your GVW. Part of the trailer weight is on the trailer tires and about 10 to 20 percent is tongue weight. I prefer the narrow scales that weight each individual axle set as I drive over them. I found our trailer axles were OK but the drive axle on our F150 was always 500 to 1000 lbs overweight. I could jack the weight distribution bars up more but that just spreads the weight over the front steer wheels and trailer wheels and created a real bucking ride. We ended up with an F250 and couldn't be happier.
    I enjoy the content, keep it up.

    • @CampingwiththeColes
      @CampingwiththeColes  2 года назад +1

      Yeah, I agree with you. This was a very basic weigh in. There is a lot more to it such as axle weights, tongue weight, max towing weight etc. Ideally I'd like to get on a scale that weighs each tire separately to get a real accurate picture of our weight. Maybe some day. Thanks for your input.

    • @carter1515ful
      @carter1515ful Год назад

      I just came back to this video after your first Texas video. I’m curious as to your axle issue. Your trailer weight here was close but doesn’t take into consideration the weight the truck carries as you had your tongue jack down on the scale. Can’t wait to see part 2
