You are my favorite RUclips fish channel. Great voice over, nothing but fish and good information. Keep up the amazing work. Yup you tell us what the fish is like.
Hi, from America. I love you so much and have been watching your videos for at least a year now and promoting you on all my American fish keepers channels. I’m so happy that you’re doing videos more frequently. You have just helped me decide on another tetra I must have! Thank you so much for being you!! Also you made my “microworm “ life a lot easier with that video.
Thanks, that's really kind and encouraging of you. I'm trying to do more videos and keep to something of a schedule. Red eyes are a charming tetra, wonderfully laid back and easy to keep, well worth looking into.
I had a very traumatic experience with these guys, they were rescued from someone who wanted to dump them somewhere but it was too late, at least they passed knowing they were loved. watching this video reminded me of that, I shall give these fish the love they deserve.
Do it. I have a 375 L tank (150x50x50)with a group of 40 of these Red Eyed Tetras. In size they are between 3.5 and 6 Cm. Also there is a group of 15 Corydoras and 25 Red Neon Tetras. Together they make an absolutely gorgeous scenery. Just 3 different kind of fish, that's all. Next week I get a group of 20 "Inpaichthys Kerry", we call them "King Tetra ". And that will be it. Thanks for another informative video. Your videography is one of the best in aquarium category. You could consider making longer videos with just background music for relaxing watching.
Loved this video, currently cycling a 40b rio salobra river biotope aquarium and I think these guys will be the first schoolers I personally would love to see a menagerie video on moenkhausia bonita, or the “Bonita tetra” if possible
They are able to hunt smaller neocardinia shrimp. Some of my red cherry, not fully grown, but definitely not shrimplet were swallowed by them. Fully sized ones were able to survive encounter okay
My experience with red eyes they are very tough species. I set up my large fish tank over year ago, bought 8 of those tetras and till now i have 7 . It's very good resoult. I lost plenty neons, the same with panda corydoras . The worst survival rate i had with zebra danios . Bought about 10 and now im left with one or two . Otosinclus is doing very well , and they supposed to be difficult fish to keep. Going back to red eye tetras, tiny menagerie mentioned that they are brave fish. Absolutely not in my thak . They are the biggest cowards possible. Any movement in my living room and they run away under cover . And is very seldom to see them all , even during feeding only two or three the bravest shows up from under cover. But that is my experience i my tank .
My red eyes are pretty skittish too. I just put some Ottocinclus in with my school of 8 red eyes and wondered if they would pick on them. Mine seem fairly peaceful but other tetras I’ve had in the past (skirt tetras especially) would eat another fish regardless if it would fit in their mouth or not 😂 I hope my new Otto’s do great because my tetras have been awesome.
