My god when Bradley delivered that line in An Adventure in Space and Time, I bawled my eyes out 😭

Love the contrast between capaldi and Tennant. Tennants I don't want to go. Felt like a last futile defiance against something he can't stop. Whereas capaldi saying I let you go is pure acceptance. His regeneration isn't something inevitable HE is letting the doctor go almost giving his permission to regenerate. Miss capaldi and his brilliant acting

Time lords are able to refuse to regenerate and die it happened with the Master too, he literally did let the next Doctor go because he was holding it back probably the same reason he destroyed the Tardis because it's a side effect of holding back the regeneration causes it to become like an explosion same thing happened to Tenth Doctor

@@tyborbat yes I know they have the ability to refuse. But tennents view on it was closer to being angry at something inevitable like it was a day that was coming that he didn't want to happen but it was always going to hence "I don't want to go" but capaldis refusal and later regeneration felt more like him taking control for the first time like it wasn't an inevitable thing but he made the choice to go on and his life was no longer a curse like it was often talked about with 10 and 11 but he was actively deciding to live rather than just going on until he dropped

      "Time enough."
He's going to sacrifice himself. If he's killed during a regeneration he dies permanently. It's a miracle he survived, and he just wanted to die. He was sick of living.

@@sheridan5175 the whole thing is sacrifice in a way. He wants to die after having lived and lost so much. But upon finding the strength he holds off a while longer to fully give his consent making the regeneration squarely 12s choice. It's not like 10 where he feels a new man saunters away stealing what life he could've had. He's allowing the next doctor to go on sacrificing his own life willingly and on his terms. It's like the war doctor said "great men are forged in fire. It is the privellage of lesser men to light the flame"

it breaks my heart every time the Doctor regenerates alone. I just hope 13 doesn't regenerate alone :(
