- Don't you just love it when you see Doctor Who References in other shows? This video has all of the references in "The Big Bang Theory" related to the british sci-fi show "Doctor Who". This video was made on 8/11/2012 and any references that happen in the future will not be shown on this. If I missed any, then comment please! :) Whovians, UNITE!
(Also yes, I know there is a weird camera pan in episode 5x14 clip... it recorded that way and I don't know why.) I do not own "The Big Bang Theory" or "Doctor Who".
UPDATE: I have made a video showing TARDISes in Stuart's Comic Book Store!
• TARDISes in Stuart's C...
New reference in this week's episode :
Professor Proton: "Is this the first time you've lost someone close to you?"
Sheldon: "No. I've already had to say goodbye to 11 Doctor Whos"
I could identify with disturbingly much from this week's episode. At the line you mentioned, I went: "Okay, that's it - I'm turning into Sheldon!"
11 Doctors*
Texugamer Thank you.
And in the same episode we can see scheme of dalek on the wall from Sheldon's room
You were forced to say goodbye to all of them "i don't wanna go!" :"(
"That being said, if you don't get a TARDIS, you stink and your party stinks."
AMEN SHELDON
T R U E
Plus a TARDIS totally makes sense for a Halloween party. The show has a reputation for sending people hiding behind the sofa!
Not if Raj drags his guests to a frightening time in history with the TARDIS - like when Mary Shelley conceived the idea for her story Frankenstein over at Lord Byron's castle in Geneva, Switzerland in 1816
staying in and watching Doctor Who with a guy sounds like a great date to me!
Wanna come over?
The only thing I need now is a date!
where can i find you
I volunteer
Hell yeah it is.
It's not technically a DOCTOR WHO reference but it's related. In 7x14, when Sheldon listed the names that he would invite try to his con, one of the names that was not yet crossed out was Matt Smith.
"For someone who has a machine that can travel anywhere in time and space, Doctor Who sure does have a thing for modern-day London."
The episode they're watching when she says that is "Silence in the Library," which takes place entirely in the future on a library-planet far, far away. Amy does have a point, but she didn't pick the ideal time to make it, lol.
Oh snap! I literally just made the exact same comment and only now just scrolled down to see yours.
Well if she paid more attention to everyones accent instead of what was happening in the episode then I guess her comment would make sense
What do you expect it’s written by Non-Whovions that don’t care for detail or nerd culture at all
And the fact that they would not refer to him as ""Doctor Who"
It's amazing how we can recognize and episode just by its music.
I didn't know there were so many references in TBBT!
And I don't know what Penny's problem is. I would love to watch Doctor Who on a date! But I would probably forget about my date and be too concentrated on the show :P
Haha. :)
If it isn't a love story, chances are Penny wouldn't want to watch it LOL.
there isnt, its not real
I know right
I would totally do that too!
Wish my boyfriend would invite me to watch Doctor Who,you're lucky Penny :P
I wish I had a boyfriend to watch Doctor Who with in the first place
I wish a had a friend
@@jujublue4426 Hook me up. 😏
@@DingleDangle66 what about padme????
@@foxymanaic5934 why don’t you watch it on your own?
Jack and Rose are:
1: Not a couple in Doctor who
2: On Amys list
And therefore it's a titanic referance, not Doctor Who
But...The Doctor & A Dalek are on Sheldon's list...
...I was commenting on the other person's comment. They said that the lists didn't have a Doctor Who reference...but I was pointing out that there was a reference....
My two favourite things, Titanic, and Doctor Who. This is my idea of HEAVEN!
sitting at home watching Doctor Who would be a FANTASTIC date!
I know right.
Ahh I see you Did there fantastic Referring to the 9th Doctor I see clever
There is absolutely no better way to spend an evening than watching Doctor Who.
I have seen every episode of BBT about 5 times and I have NEVER noticed they have a Dalek statue in their living room =P and "Doctor Why Bother" gets me every time lol
same i with the holloween epsiode i knew i saw the photo booth some where untill i watched doctor who and it turned out to be the tardis
Hes not JUST a fictional character. Hes a role model to those who have watched him growing up. Someone who can inspire people to be there best and try to do no wrong. He's someone who tries puts aside his own problems and help others, saving as many as he can. "No one dies, not this time, everyone lives". Isn't someone who strides to save every life he comes across worth looking up to? If he can inspire people to better the lives of real people doesn't that make him more than just a character?
Shame on the women of BBT. Why don't they like Doctor Who? Amy, at least should. *sigh* IT'S NOT STUPID OR LAME.
I 100% AGREE WITH YOU!!! :D
Well I don't think its a matter of them not liking it (at least going off these clips). Amy is just pointing that out and there are plenty of fans who complain about that in the RTD era. Penny I think just hasn't seen the episode to get her hooked and of course did not like the idea of just watching tv as an idea for a date.
She just hates everything we boyfriend likes and into including herself
You missed the part where in one of the episodes howard wrote a song for bernadette and he said "without you i'd be like the doctor without the TARDIS."
If you don't have a TARDIS, you stink and your party stinks.
I guess that's why I don't like parties.
There's also an episode where Sheldon makes his own "comic-con" in a way and he has a list of celebrities to invite and Matt Smith was on the list. But that episode is very (x4) recent.
I just started watching Doctor Who.
One of my new pet peeves is when people think the Doctor's name is Doctor Who.
It's not a name, it's a question.
Sorry if I'm being picky, but I'm a perfectionist and can't help it.
THANK YOU!!!!!
No. If it would be a question, the series' title would be "Doctor Who?" and not "Doctor Who".
Actually, in all of the classic episodes and in a lot of modern-day references, he is called 'Doctor Who' in interviews, credits, character listings, etc. He is much more commonly referred to as 'Doctor Who' than he is as 'the Doctor', seeing as that's something picked up after the 2005 series reboot.
I'm also a perfectionist, I was bothered by this for a while, then I watched the classics and accepted it, now it bothers me when people get it wrong.
UltimaFangirl
this is true a real fan
UltimaFangirl Actually in the classic episodes he was called The Doctor, it's just they credited the character as Doctor Who, and the William Hartnell story The Chase, Episode 5 carries the title "The Death of Doctor Who"; this is one of only two occasions in which the technically incorrect name "Doctor Who" is used in an on-screen title (the other occasion being the seven episodes of Doctor Who and the Silurians in 1970). The name was corrected when the title was otherwise reused for The Sarah Jane Adventures serial, Death of the Doctor and its novelisation.
If a guy took me on a date and the date happened to be watching Doctor Who I would love it :3
Marry Me
no me first !
That's the most romantic thing i hever seen a girl say! :D
Jordan Gilly I would actually forget about the guy I was with because I would be so focused on the episode of Doctor Who 😂😂
always bring a TARDIS to a party.. xD
No its always bring a banana to a party.. Bananas are good :3
Good source of potassium!
XD LOL
If you don't, you stink and your party stinks.
...why not? The Doctor has several times...
I would love if a guy would ask me out for a date and watching Doctor Who wit me. That would mean that he knows what I like. But well, it would be great to be alone while that. And if he wants me to cry Doomsday would be the perfect choice.
If only I lived closer
haha, what? where do you live? XD
Cold & damp UK :(
I love the UK.. It would be so great to live there and be better in english. Ok, wanna switch countries? over here in Germany it's ways too boring..
Lara-Marleen Neumann Germany was fun when I lived there
I'm sure those 2 elves at 3:16 had a 'Big Bang' in the TARDIS...
You could say they had enough... time YEAHHH
You mean those Smurfs?
I think they were elves before... must've regenerated....
Hamza S I Am The Doctor
Elves, omg wtf
"Jack and Rose"
Well.. considering Sheldon is supposedly a "nerd"...
He would never ship Jack Harkness with Rose.
Clearly titanic.
A few frames later, there's something on the bottom that says "... & A Dalek"
+Fate Wulluf OMG finally someone who say dat
+Fate Wulluf Actually, if I'm not wrong, I think it says The Doctor and a Dalek.
+Fate Wulluf I think its on Amys couple ideas side anyway. So it would be titanic.
+Tuxedo Penguin Although it would have been funny if he chose that one and had to have Amy explain that it -wasn't- a "Doctor Who" reference.
2:55 it says "the doctor & a dalek"
I want a Tardis photo booth!
It's a Police Box, not a phone booth.
A photo booth? XD Yes, Nyarl, it's a police box, and I'm pretty sure there's a phone in there, well, normally, when it's not a disguise for a time traveling machine...But it is definitely not a photo booth lol.
It's a "snog box"!TacticalxIncursion
Nyarl arthotep Actually, in that episode of the Big Bang Theory, it IS a photo booth and that is what she meant.
TacticalxIncursion
Yes it is. She is talking about the episode of the Big Bang Theory where they hire a photo booth that looks like a TARDIS. Do you get it now?
When Amy calls the Doctor "Doctor Who," Sheldon doesn't correct her. It's just "the Doctor;" any true Doctor Who fan would have corrected her immediately.
gogetyourverb Actually, any doctor who fan would know if the Classic Doctor era, (1-the war doctor) he was referred to as Doctor Who. So don't try to act like a superfan when you sadly srent
DesChem in season 10, while pretending to be the Doctor, Missy refers to herself as "Doctor Who" soooooo
DesChem you just got burned by true whovians 😂😂😁
Kiara Taylor Was just about to point that out! Lol
Bailey Neighbors she’s not referring to the war doctor or those others? She’s referring to David Tennants one. The correct referral is the doctor
In Raj's house there is a poster of Daleks, the one that says "to victory!"
There is one episode where we can see the poster of "the exploding Tardis" at Stuart's comic book store.
In the episode where Sheldon is looking for a famous person to take to his own comic book convention, he writes "Matt Smith" on his whiteboard.
Ten and Rose would've been a perfect compromise - Sheldon gets to be the Doctor and Amy gets to be in an awesome, adorable, if somewhat heart-wrenching couple costume.
you forgot the one when Sheldon got hurt and said to himself, "No worries i'm the doctor." XD cracked me up.
If you look at the credits at the end of the episodes, he is called "The Doctor," "Dr Who," and "Doctor Who"; depending on the series.
1:24 If you recognize the episode off the top of your head just from hearing the music, then you are totally one of the most awesome people in all of existence.
This reply may be 9 years late, but isnt it silence in the library. I may be wrong tho, only started watching the revive series recently and havent watched the originals yet
There is a problem in the scene where Amy point out how much the Doctor comes to the modern London whereas he can move when and where he want whit his TARDIS: they are actually watching the double episode "Silence in the Library", which takes place on another planet. I refer to the music, which is precisely (if i remember well) only on those episodes.
They may have been looking DW all day long before the moment of the scene, but in view of the fact that Penny leaves the group because she is bored, I doubt of it.
I love whovians. Recognizing an episode just because of 10 seconds of music.
frome the board example...you got it wrong.....the "jack and rose" was in the amy side so it probably is from titanic....but in the sheldon side when he is explaning to amy why he doesnt like "raggidy ann" you can see part of the sentence "r & a dalek" so i asume that it was "the doctor & a dalek"
It was. I saw it more clearly. LOLOLOL
I love it how he put the doctor and a dalek instead of one of the companions
on the white board for costume ideas under "Couples I Like" it has "The Doctor & A Dalek"
On 2:54 on the "Couples I Like" it had The Doctor and a Dalek on the bottom. XD
3:06 It is on her side so I will assume that it is from Titanic. Sheldon would want to be The Doctor not Jack. HOWEVER!!! 2:54 under "couples I like" at the bottom it says The Doctor and A Dalek
You have a point. In the Unearthly Child, the credits say "Dr Who played by William Hartnell" whereas some of the more recent episodes (if I remember correctly) it says "The Doctor played by David Tennant." I'll follow up on this, as I may be wrong, but that's just what I remember
it's The Doctor...not Doctor Who...
He has 2 names/whatever, you can call him Doctor Who or The Doctor.
no "SkrimaxDubstepper" it's just The Doctor.
Harry Thompson if you look at the ending credits it says "Doctor Who" so either one is acceptable
^this apache guy knows his shit
oh fucking hell i won't compliment you next time :L
I am a huge Doctor Who fan (I have seen all of the Doctors from William Hartnell to the current Doctor). And I recently got into The Big Bang Theory and now I am a huge Big Bang Theory fan. Love it when Leonard and Penny come out of the TARDIS after having coitis.
Wow six seasons on the air and it cant even fill 4 minutes of Who references.... I think someone needs to revoke their license to nerd.
Historically the tv series began in 1963 and ran until 1989, then returned in 2005.
Rolf Rykken
I meant six seasons of Big Bang, not of Dr Who.
"Doctor Who sure has a thing for modern day London" she says whilst watching Silence in the Library
If a guy asked me to spend time with him, watching Doctor Who together would be just about the most amazing date ever!
"and all things raggedy"
"To hell wiht the raggedy!"
This was an absolute delight! I love all those references and I have adored Doctor Who since I was a child! Great job here and wonderfully edited. With this show, though, you could do a ton of clip shows about their franchise references (Marvel, Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, and so on . . .)
Thank you! For the longest time I have been meaning to do a video of Simpsons and Futurama clips referencing to Doctor Who but I have a lot of trouble getting the clips! Maybe I'll do something like you said, though. Thanks again! :)
I honestly don't get the appeal of Doctor Who or British Sci-Fi in general to American audiences, because a lot of British Sci-Fi can be quite Anti-American at times.
waterfieldV The americans then are either extremely daft or have a wonderful sense of humor and dont take themselves too seriously unlike their Presidents of course :D. Take your pick.
There is also the exploding TARDIS painting by Vincent Van Gogh in Stuart's comic book store.
Wonder what would have happen if one of the doctors showed up at their doors ? Hmmmm
+Amrita Sengupta: OMG! This needs to happen!!!!!!!! 10 needs to show up at their door, while they watch Doctor Who. And then take them in the TARDIS. That would be amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And get Sheldon to shut up for a change while he is at it. Not that anyone actually can put a word in when 10 rumbles on XD
Oh, Ten can talk too. He likes to talk a lot. Well, so do I.. Well, who doesn't? But seriously ... Those two would have an argument about Doctor Who. That would be funny....
Clara Doctor Who Fan yeah thats what i said :P but 10 talks even more than Sheldon does. XD. Oh dear sweet 10 0-0
I love Ten though!!!!!!! Sheldon & Ten would fight over who talked the most lol.
It’s funny, at 1:25 in the video, one of the characters makes a comment about how despite having a machine which can travel anywhere in time and space, Doctor who sure does have a thing for modern-day London. However, the music underneath this comment is from the opening of series 4 episode 8 “Silence in the Library” which takes place in the 51st century at the Library, a planet covered in a massive library. They probably have the characters watch this episode because it’s one of the most well known introductory episodes to the show, but it also happens to show one of the most interesting futuristic settings of the modern era, so the comment the character makes would not be appropriate for the episode they’re watching as identified by the score.
Additionally, there’s a lot of controversy over the Big Bang theory characters referring to the character of the doctor as “Doctor who” when they’re typically referred to as the doctor by other characters on Doctor Who (the show) itself.
To set the record straight, there is some evidence to both sides. Other characters do refer to the doctor as the doctor almost exclusively, but in the first doctor serial The War Machines, the doctor is referred to as doctor who. In the second Doctor serial, The Underwater Menace, the doctor signs a note as Dr. W. I’d personally attribute these inconsistencies to people on the writing and production staff not being quite as knowledgeable about the show when the show was newer. Cast members would get frustrated by this because they felt they knew their characters better than the writers.
For the most part however, these early anomalies are just that: anomalies. The Doctor has always been consistently referred to on air as the Doctor.
For the first eighteen seasons of the classic series the show also lists the character as Doctor Who in the credits. This changed for the Peter Davison fifth doctor run and has stayed “The Doctor” ever since with minor, specific exceptions. (Everything has exceptions upon exceptions in a show this expansive.)
Additionally, production team members and actors who play the doctor will sometimes refer to the character as Doctor Who. This tends to depend on the person and it’s more common among older individuals than younger, but it is interesting.
So behind the scenes, there is some evidence of the character being referred to as Doctor Who, but within the show’s continuity itself, it’s pretty explicitly the Doctor. Steven Moffat even went out of his way to reference on several occasions that this isn’t the doctor’s actual name, but rather a title they adopt as a promise.
This is most discussed when the Doctor talks to Clara in Day of the Doctor, when Clara asks the time Lords for help through the crack in the wall in Time of the Doctor, and when Missy introduces herself at the beginning of World Enough and Time. There are also nods to it in Asylum of the Daleks and the Bells of Saint John when the Doctor meets Clara for the first time for the third time. (It’s timey wimey.) Even Silence in the Library/Forrest of the Dead, the two part, Moffat penned, story which the characters on the Big Bang Theory are shown watching references the Doctor’s true name when Riversong whispers it in the Doctor’s ear upon meeting him for the first time. (First time for him, not for her… again it’s timey wimey).
Fans and American fans especially will typically refer to the character as the doctor almost exclusively which is why it sounds so weird to hear Sheldon say “Doctor Who”. If someone calls the character “Doctor Who”, it typically (not always but usually) indicates that they don’t have much exposure to the show.
The real reason that the characters on the Big Bang theory call them doctor who instead of the doctor is because audiences watching the Big Bang theory who might not be as familiar with the show will be able to identify the reference if Sheldon calls the character Doctor Who. They might not get the reference if the character is only referred to as the doctor.
Also I don’t know what compelled me to write all this, but seeing how much I wrote on this topic in a RUclips comment section makes me sad.
Actually he has a toy dalek on his shelve if you look carefully.
Its the second in command dalek from the 1960s film "Dalek invasion of earth 2150AD. I'm a nerd at Daleks :)
That's a terrible film. Don't watch it.
And in a recent episode, while Bernadette is quarantined, Howard alludes to Doctor Who in a lyric of the song he sings to her.
thats as bad as a Doctor Who joke i heard:
DOCTOR: knock knock
MASTER: who's there?
DOCTOR: doctor
MASTER: doctor who?
gleeLPSproductions DOCTOR CHANG
1:38 Amy and Penny can take a flying leap into the Untempered Schism.
Cassandra Walden Frey i dont get that scene i know the song in the backround while theyre watching the how but i cant think of the episode where that music was playing
I love that at 1:30, they’re watching a real episode, that’s Silence In The Library, Series 4, episode 8.
Alright, you definitely need to break up with Penny now, Leonard.
The music is used in Silence in the Library, but it's a theme that's used in a lot of episodes. It's probably not "Silence" since Amy or whatever she's called says that the Doctor seems to prefer modern day London as a destination, even though he has a time machine. London doesn't appear in "Silence" so...
i would LOVE to have a date where we just sat at home and watched doctor who! poo on u penny ;)
Omg Doctor Who
I had another tab open that I didn't realise was playing audio.
It was a loudish upbeat song in Spanish, and I thought it was coming from his video.
It was drowning out the speech in this video.
I was annoyed, because why would you put loud music over the dialogue?
I paused the video to post an angry comment about the music.
The music did not stop when the video did.
I got most of the way through writing the comment before realising this...
I felt pretty silly after that...
Thank you for coming on this journey with me. I'll watch the video now.
Sometimes in the credits The Doctor is referred to as Doctor Who, in Series 1 Episode 13, Ecclestone and Tennant are both listed as Doctor Who in the credits. It was also quite common in the classic series as well.
I understand Sheldon on the first one lol
As for 3:08 I think it's the Titanic, because the second circle represents 'couples you like' (you=Amy) and Amy doesn't seem too bothered with Doctor Who. Plus Jack and Rose aren't really a couple - they have a few scenes together and they flirt a bit, but that's all.
The Doctor and a Dalek aren't a couple either. Not yet anyway... lol
Katherine Garcia :-) Neither are Captain Kirk and Spock or Batman and Robin. They qualify as a "doctor Sheldon Cooper-type" couple, the kind he would approve of. Almost no touching and a little bromance.
As for the Doctor and Dalek... oh yeah, it's gonna happen, I ship it. Clara Oswin Oswald was just step one.
^Good point. xD
I'd love to see them get Matt Smith to do a cameo on BBT.
god two amazing shows come together
AMY CALLED HIM DOCTOR WHO!!!!!!!! THAT IS NOT HIS NAME!!!!!!!!! HIS NAME IS THE DOCTOR, JUST THE DOCTOR THANK YOU! OR AT LEAST LIKE THE TENTH OR NINTH DOCTOR OR SOMETHING, BUT NEVER NEVER DOCTOR WHO!!!!!!!
Goodbye, have a Fantastic life!! Allons-y!
Dregonna
I know, I just didn't have a spot to put it in my comment.
*****
I remember we went to the mall not too long ago for band and we went inside one of the stores and I saw a Doctor Who blanket. Me and my friend wanted it so badly (btw, this was before I actually started watching the show, because we didn't have Netflix and it took me forever to find a website to watch it for free, but I knew a lot about it) One of my classmates comes up to me and goes, "Wait is that that guy Doctor Who? What does he look like?" I just put my hands up to my face and trying to stay calm I said, "His name isn't Doctor Who first off. And there are twelve versions, so I can't tell you what he looks like because they all look different."
It doesn't fucking matter.Watch the 2nd doctor and it'll really piss you off.
+StormRider72 Actually he was orginally called Doctor Who in the orginal series, so that means you're wrong and your not that big of a fan to know this fact... sorry
haha I am more giggly about the couple costumes on Amy's side " blossom and Joey" I loved blossom
I LIKE THE turkish subtitles
TARDIS stands for:
Time And Relative Dimensions In Space
his name isn't "doctor who" its the doctor! :/
Look in the credits, he's been called "Doctor Who" since 1963... He just seems to prefer "the Doctor" now.
@ 3:13 one of the options was "The Doctor and A Dalek"
1:26 - it always kinda irks me that Amy talks about Modern Day London but the soundtrack playing is from Silence In The Library. Which is an episode set in a 51st Century Planet Sized Library. Kind of a nitpick I know but as a big Doctor Who fan, I love seeing references to the franchises but never like seeing them messed up.
The Doctor and A Dalek :))
So it is most definitely a song box...
I think you're referencing when in the show they called it snog box. If that's what you meant then that comment is funny and clever.
that's what I meant...
"It is not a snog box!"
your right, its a shag box now!
Well, I suppose you're right.
1. Invent time machine.
2. Travel to 23rd century.
3. Invent probability changing machine to make probability certain that everything is fixed.
you missed that on the "Couples I Like" list there was The Doctor and A Dalek
No its in the red brackets
While characters in the show always refer to him as just "The Doctor," the classics do credit him as "Doctor Who" after each episode, not "The Doctor"
Without trying to be rude, there are WAY MORE references to DOCTOR WHO in "The Big Bang Theory".
Please take note of the fact that this was made in 2012.
The perfect date in my book would be watching Doctor Who.
who con sounds awesome but, I GOT TICKETS TO CHICAGO TARDIS TO CELEBRATE 50 YEARS BABY!!! #savetheday
Both Amy and Penny call him "Doctor Who", when the guys say it, its always in reference to the show, not the character. Though they never say "The Doctor" Sheldon has it written like that on the board of proposed halloween costumes "The Doctor & A Dalek"
You can see it at 2:54 in the video.
2. referans altyazı Türkçe😃😃😃😃
I don't think that changed until David Tennant's time as The Doctor. Even Christopher Eccleston's Doctor was credited as Doctor Who.
In 1:30 Did Amy just call the The Doctor Doctor Who
Yeah, in the old series, he was usually credited as 'Doctor Who'
*****
And in 2005.
I spotted one the other day, the comic book store has a poster of the exploding TARDIS painting. I love how popular Doctor Who is getting worldwide.
Amy referred to the doctor as doctor who, she is not a Whovian.
As many elsewhere on this page have noted, from the 1st Doctor through the 4th Doctor, the character was credited as Doctor Who, or even Dr. Who, and in multiple episodes, he either called himself, or was called, Doctor Who. As well, in the new episodes, the 9th Doctor is credited as Doctor Who, and Missy called him Doctor Who when she was impersonating him. Either name is completely acceptable, especially from a *real* Whovian who *knows* the history of the show. Stop pretending you are a Whovian when you obviously don't know this.
She's not completely wrong. In the original series he was billed as Dr. Who.
Two or Three of these had nothing to do with Doctor Who, just saying.
+Karley Tennant Which?
If you look at the Left side of the board, it even says THE DOCTOR & A DALEK.
Why is does Anderson's face flash at 3:41?!
...there is no 3:41
Ever heard of a Troll?
WHY YOU SAYING MY NAME IS FLASHIN',SON?!
JON PERTWEE, YOU ARE MY INSPIRATION, I LOVE YOU.
RobloxIsLife22 Thank you, thank you very much. But I am not him,I only carry on his spirit as his big fan.
and an imaginary bow tie as well, bow ties are cool, fezzes are cool, but together they're FANTASTIC :D
HIS

ITS
THE
DOCTOR
MY

I'm sorry but that just popped in my head when you said that. I completely agree with you
As many elsewhere on this page have noted over the years since this was posted, from the 1st Doctor through the 4th Doctor, the character was credited as Doctor Who, or even Dr. Stop pretending you know it all when you obviously don't know this.
Doctors at the time these episodes were aired:
- Episode 1x07: David Tennant
- Episodes 5x14 and 6x05: Matt Smith
- Episode 4x11 was aired around when the Doctor had regenerated from Tennant to Smith
You missed 9 others before those listed, LOL!
"Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.”
OK LISTEN UP. Yes people call him The Doctor in the show. However, on the end credits, the character was actually written as Dr. WHO, or DOCTOR WHO. It alternated between series. For instance Hartnell was Dr. WHO. Troughton was DOCTOR WHO. Pertwee, Dr. WHO. BAKER, DOCTOR WHO
I love how Lenard (I DONT KNOW HOW TO SPELL IT) and Penny have sex in a tardis...
There's a new one in this season. In The Convention Conundrum, Sheldon's whiteboard of celebrities for his comic-con includes Matt Smith.
I'm female and a Doctor Who fan- admittedly started watching when I was 8 but I'd call it a family show. There are plenty of adult themes and references that went over my head for a long time. I have heaps of female friends who are DW fans & seen a heap of female DW fans online that are a lot older than me.You shouldn't hide being a DW fan!
The part when Sheldon says "If you don't get a TARDIS, you stink and your party stinks," is also a Futurama reference/meme! XD
You know you’re a nerd when you’re watching this and the captions come out “Who Khan” instead of “Who Con”
After that Halloween episode aired, I felt the desperate need to explain everyone who didn´t care what the tardis is and who the doctor is
Erm... Given Sheldon's love of Doctor Who his comment on not liking Raggediness is somewhat baffling. The first thing that came to my mind when they raggedy was mentioned was the fact that one of The Doctor's nick names, was the Raggedy man. Especially after 'The Day of the Doctor'.
He should have gone as the Raggedy Doctor and Amy could have been Raggedy Rose (I guess Raggedy Amy would make more sense in the context of both shows... especially given that her name is also Amy).
I think there is a possibility for the authors of "The Big Bang Theory" not having known about Amy's raggedy doctor when they wrote that episode. I'm not sure about the delay between writing, filming and screening, so I don't know...
Traditionally, since the first episode in the credits it is Doctor Who
