I'm surprised nobody mentions CM Punk when it comes to Cena, especially when it comes to a potential WrestleMania match as a call back to the match that Punk never got, or even like Punk vs Cena at Money in the Bank
Yeah I could see Punk facing Cena in the Main event while Seth faces Bronson for the title to open up the event. That would end both feuds leading to the Seth vs Punk angle finally and Cena gets to keep chasing the record.
For me, greatest return of all time has to be Edge at the 2020 Royal Rumble. I mean you talk about that HHH return in 02 or the Cena return at the Rumble in 08 about how people weren't sure when they were coming back. Edge WASN'T coming back, he was retired, he was done for 9 years. Nothing can top Edge's return just because those circumstances of a top guy being told he can never wrestle again, forced to retire before he was ready to be done, coming back after 9 years away. Those circumstances can never be duplicated
Yeah that one was unexpected that's the last year I watched lame ass wrastling 😂. Tried to get back into it recently I only watch it for LA Knight,Kross,Theory,Bron
@@TioJones-lm1zii stopped watching in 09 picked it back up a bit recently its starting to get a bit better again definitely improved from the dark days of 2010-2020
Edge's return was by far the most human. He missed this so much. He couldn't believe it was happening and we were ECSTATIC for him. To still have him 4 plus year later is WILD.
The chemistry between Sam and Chris is just off the charts. To have a tongue in cheek yet somehow actually logical debate about chicken wings to cap the episode in such an entertaining fashion is awesome.
I will reiterate the comment I posted last time Sam was the guest on insight. This is such a good combination that it needs to be a permanent podcast weekly
This has been my favourite episode of your podcast ever. Just something about this episode where two guys are discussing wrestling from almost the people’s perspective
It's insane to me that we're heading into the year 2025 and the top 3 Royal Rumble winner contenders are Roman Reigns, John Cena and CM Punk, and we're okay with that
WRESTLEMANIA 41 1.JOHN CENA VS RANDY ORTON WWE UNIVERSAL CHAMPIONSHIP 2.ROMAN REINGS VS THE ROCK 3.GUNTHER VS CODY RHODES VS DAMIAN PREIST WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP 4.SETH ROLLINS VS CM PUNK
Drew McIntyre needs another run with the belt soon. His story needs to come full circle. Had his Cody moment taken in the pandemic, but needs that redemption arc with the people.
Tbh he should win the rumble imo, him vs gunther at mania and cena vs bron breakker are my dream matches for 41, ik drew vs gunther would be heel vs heel but if any guy can do babyface whilst being the same character its drew mcintyre
I would love for Cody to be Cena’s last match, hearing how he used to drive Cena around and learning from him on the road when he first started out would make for an awesome passing of the torch moment.
Great episode as always, CVV! I would love regular CVV/Sam Roberts crossover episodes. I really enjoyed the chat about the returns, too. Triple H coming back from the torn quad is still one me and my friends talk about to this day. In more recent years, Bray's return at Extreme Rules was just incredible. My current favourite return. The pop was absolutely insane. I've got goosebumps just thinking about it.
I strongly disagree with Cody being the only pure babyface in the company. Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, Bianca Belair are good guys that are cheered by all demos.
He didn’t say there was only one right now, he said there hasn’t been a top guy pure baby face like Cody for a long time and they weren’t as consistent
We gotta get you two to do these more often. Wwe is at an interesting time where a new breed is coming in and are being established. Also, the current generals are at their prime with still many years to give. Regarding, possible Mania match ups what if they went the Roman vs rock, Orton/Cena vs Cody, Punk vs Rollins, Goldberg vs gunther/bron breakker, route. A changing of the guard/torches being passed on the grandest stage, kind of deal. Anyways, love the show and a too sweet your way, broski!
I think Punk-Rollins is the world title match at Mania, Cena trying to get the world title is gonna happen a lot slower than people expect. CM Punk getting his mania main event is the story for the world title that’s already been set up. With him being old and injury prone, why wouldn’t they do it this year instead of giving Cena yet another main event title match? Cena isn’t the Rock and Summerslam is 2 nights next year for a reason. I think he’ll take one of those main events facing 2x champ Gunther or Punk for his 17th, but not Mania.
Let me predict matches for WM41, my fav list: 1) Roman vs Rock 2) Cody vs Randy orton - WWE championship 3) Cena vs Gunther - WHC 4) Bron Breakker vs Drew McIntyre - InterContinental championship 5) LA Kinght vs Kevin Owens vs Logan Paul vs Solo sikoa - US Championship 6) Liv Morgan vs Ripley (RR winner) vs Becky (if she signs new contract) - Women's world championship 7) Nia Jax vs Bayley (EC winner) Tiffany cashes in and wins Title 8) Raw Tag champs War raiders vs New day 9) Smack down tag champs Ladder match MCMG vs Bloodline vs Usos vs Street profits vs Pretty deadly vs DIY 10) Women's tag title Chelsea/Piper vs Damage control 11) Punk vs Rollins 12) Wyatt Sicks vs Judgement day 13) Jade cargill vs Bianca Belair 14) Oba femi vs Bronson reed vs Braun strowman 15) Grayson waller vs Austin theory Results would be : 1) Roman 2) Cody Rhodes 3) Gunther 4) Drew McIntyre 5) Kevin Owens or Solo Sikoa 6) Rhea Ripley 7) Tiffany Stratton after cash in 8) War Raiders 9) MCMG / Usos 10) Damage control 11) Rollins 12) Wyatt sicks 13) Jade Cargil 14) Oba Femu 15) Austin Theory Jacob Fatu wins Andre the Giant Memorial battle royal
Some WrestleMania 41 predictions Roman Reigns vs The Rock - Main Event Night 2 Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton - Main Event Night 1 Opening Match Night 1 - Rhea Ripley vs IYO SKY Opening Match Night 2 - Seth Rollins vs CM Punk
I think you guys have analyzed Cody Rhodes's so well, he does have an American Hero aura that we have not seen since the 80s and maybe that's what as a society we have been wanting.
