- The group arrives at the same pub Captain Carter took Steve to in Episode 1, and they meet Doctor Strange Supreme before learning about their mission and being dubbed "the Guardians of the Multiverse." After Thor tries and fails to escape, the team agrees to help and begins to debate how they should go about it. It takes some deliberation, but eventually, Gamora convinces everyone they can destroy Ultron's stones using the "Infinity Crusher," a device of her creation. Marvel Studios' What if...? Watcher could've had an entire army of dr strange, Iron man, and Thor but he did this the hard way
That could've cause a lot of consequences than it has now, The Watcher wasn't supposed to interfere in the first place, He's probably Going to get punnish by the other Watchers or maybe they'll just let him go

I think some people miss the point of the team here. The Watcher specifically says he originally went looking across the multiverse for the perfect hero to fight against multiverse Ultron but realized a team of heroes would be better. While he doesn't say the next part I think it can be assumed that searching for something that specific, especially given this is the first Ultron the Watcher has ever seen gain power of this level, would take far too long. The longer Ultron is active in the multiverse the worse things get. Likewise, the Watcher didn't get an army of (*insert favorite hero/s*) because that would cause the scope of the battle to expand and endanger countless realities and that's assuming that an army would be able to defeat perfect Ultron. More of something doesn't mean better and there can be too many cooks in a kitchen.
Finally each member of the GoM was picked to play a very specific role in the Watcher's grand plan. *Spoilers below*
1. Supreme Strange - Arguably the most important player. His protection spell stops the team from being vaporized immediately, not to mention his absorption power stops Ultron from just blowing up the universe they're in but the most important thing he contributes is the reality-sealing spell.
2. Captain Carter - Is who I would say is the next most important player. Her ability to talk Apocalypse Black Widow into joining their team and working together directly leads them to getting the key to defeating Ultron.
3. Apocalypse Black Widow - I mean she literally has the key to defeating Ultron.
4. Killmonger - While not clear at first Killmonger isn't actually brought onto the team to fight Ultron. He's actually there to stop Zola from getting the stones and becoming a threat in his own right. Him not really contributing to the plan and working on a way to steal the stones was all part of the Watcher's plan to create an opening for Supreme Strange to permanently seal the set.
5. T'challa and Gamora are actually part of an elaborate decoy/red herring to distract Ultron so he doesn't see the real threat coming. If Ultron knew about the arrow he would have immediately taken steps to protect himself from it or remove that weakness of his.
6. Drunk Thor - While at first he seems like the most useless part of the team Drunk Thor is actually there to be a counter balance to Killmonger. The Watcher couldn't allow the team to have too much prep time as that would give Killmonger more prep time to perfect his plan on stealing the stones from everyone else, so he put Drunk Thor on the team to get their cover blown and first them to act earlier than they would have liked.
From a storytelling perspective it’s would have been way more entertaining in my opinion for the watcher to have genuinely been worried about ultron’s threat instead of just… knowing the EXACT plan to completely neutralise ultron with zero effort, makes him feel less like a multiversal destroyer of worlds and more like just another guy that watcher had to deal with
@@tacopizzasandwich621Uatu had calmed down since he encountered Ultron. He was probably afraid of him still (given Ultron can kill him and i don’t think vice versa) but had realized that he was a stoppable force.

The Watcher: Look, it was on short notice and considering the other options, he's the least evil of the bunch. Think of him like a giant Golden Retriever who wields a hammer.

Yeah, but what would he do? What kind of roll would he even have against Ultron? I mean, has he and Peter Parker even fought Ultron before? I doubt he’d be of any help. Besides, he’s on the younger side of super heroes, and his inexperience with powerful villains, much less those from alternate universe, would only get in the way, possibly even make the situation worse. No offense, Miles, but you’re gonna have to sit this one out if you’re planning to fight Ultron.

Other than Strange Supreme, Watcher clearly chose the ABSOLUTE WORST OPTIONS for his team. He could've used a Wanda, a Vision, and some other powerful options, but no, he went with little ones like Captain Carter, Black Widow, Star Lord, etc.
He was doing it on Hard mode.
Wanted the achievements.
You just don't get it. The Watcher chose the perfect members for the team. It's not about who's more powerful. This was about who would produce the most preferable outcome.

Its weird how the watcher didnt pick Cap.Marvel, since she was at least the only one who was capable of dealing a bit of damage to Ultron when fighting in Xandar.
i don't think his plan was to physically defeat ultron, so he only picked a couple high-class combatants like strange and thor. he just needed a couple big guns to keep ultron occupied while ultron was ultimately done in by not accounting for human tactics and misdirection, since he was at a point where he could overpower just about anyone and probably hadn't thought about strategy in some time. ultron had already fought a standard captain marvel, but was at least perplexed by party thor, so the latter was a good distraction
Plus he didn’t hear Ultron tell captain marvel “I’ve already won” you know what that means he was hella holding back
