Space management is the most important skill when driving and passing a driver's test. You must maintain a 3 - 4 second following distance. And when stopping in traffic, you must be at least one vehicle length back from the vehicle in front. Being able to see the bottom of the tires of the car in front making contact with the road is your landmark. Doing the speed limit. And you must have your observation and communication skills in place. Good luck on your driver's test.
Good luck on your road test.

I love this video, it is so true! I watched many of your videos and passed my road test on the second try. Everything Rick talking about is what the tester was looking for on the test.
That is awesome! Thanks for letting us know that you passed your test, and your words of endorsement. How's the driving going my friend? All the very best, Cheers Rick
I watch these videos! Learned all I could from him! I ended up passing my driver's test the first time with flying colors! The instructor even noticed that I've been watching these videos!
I have to do my drivers test in a truck.. I've had my permit for over a year and my vehicle since July but I'm so afraid of the driver's test for absolutely nothing
So you passed? If so, how's the driving going my friend? All the best, Cheers Rick
Hi! I got my license ten years ago in a different country, didn't drive for several years and developed an extreme driving anxiety. Got to a point where I was terrified only thinking about getting behind the wheel. I came to Canada, found your channel, watched almost every video of yours and after four weeks of slowly practicing everything in my own speed and binging your videos, I have learned so much valuable knowledge about driving that I can finally just go out there, by myself, in a foreign country, confidently and relaxed, and I'M FINE :D!! I straight-up didn't think it was possible :D Genuinely thank you for putting all of this out there, your videos have been a life-changer for me
Hi Rick, I passed my road test here in Edmonton for the 1st attempt. I watched all of your videos, it helps me a lot. Thank you so much. Always take care!
That's awesome news my friend. How's the driving going there in Edmonton? All the best, Cheers Rick
Thank you for your videos. I watched and applied them while preparing for my driving test. I passed today on first try. God bless you sir.
sir let me express how thankful i am that i found your driving videos over a year ago. before i found your channel, i wasnt the best driver by any means. I was also quite scared and didn’t really have a passion to drive either. your videos are the reason how me and my crew passed our road tests the first time! please keep doing what you’re doing; you are doing God’s favor!
Thank you for your kind words my friend. That is incredible news. We're so happy to hear that we could help. How's the driving going? All the very best, Cheers Rick
Short and informative....Thanks!!
You're most welcome! All the best, Cheers Rick
Hi Rick, Thanks for the useful information and guidance.

You're most welcome my friend. All the best, Cheers Rick
Before changing lane, signal, mirror, shoulder is right or mirror signal shoulder is right???
Hi Rick, do you know how to fix overscanning issue?
I can't say I've heard of that issue before. Who told you that you were "over-scanning" and how did they describe the problem? Cheers Rick
Apologies for the late reply as I just saw this now
My Class 5 Examiner told me and my instructor that I rented his car
And also she said wide turns as well.
Bit nervous for my friday’s 2nd road test 😂
Hi @lorenacaingcoy - You're going to do awesome. Remember to breath; that will cause your body to relax. Good luck on your road test! Be sure to let us know how it goes. All the best, Cheers Rick

hey rick i got a question where your danger at when making unprotected left turn i might be right or wrong is it usually on the left side or right side
The danger is that you'll get "T-boned" on the passenger side of the vehicle my friend. See this vid: ruclips.net/video/j1oQZIPkjhQ/видео.html And see this vid for "T-bone" crashes: studio.ruclips.net/user/video0xxjcU7pjrc/edit?Fdashboard Drop us a note if we can help further. Cheers Rick
I got a very good driver's training and spent a good amount of time behind the wheel. Unfortunately I failed my test on my first attempt. Since then I have very low energy and motivation. Sometimes I think I'm not fit to drive 😕
You got this! I saw one driving instructor who got his license after three tries so don’t give up and keep on trying your best!
See this vid: ruclips.net/video/sWRSNB1iiuQ/видео.html Don't let someone's opinion of you become your reality my friend. OR Batman "Why do we fall down Bruce?" To learn to pick ourselves up again. You got his my friend. Push forward, learn from your experience and go and get your license. The four most powerful words in the English language: "I CAN DO THIS!" All the best, Cheers Rick
hi quick question, do i need to check the blindspot for every turns??… Im kinda confused.. i was told checking the blindspot is not needed if you are just doing the regular turns like turning right and left.
Thank you for asking such an important question my friend. Every time you change directions of the vehicle you need to shoulder check my friend. See this vid: ruclips.net/video/uJ4w63wZyFQ/видео.html See this vid for observing correctly during your drive: ruclips.net/video/TrtgVbd87SY/видео.html Drop us a note if you have further questions. Cheers Rick
I drive an suv with very poor back up visibility, I use my mirrors and backup camera more than anything, now I’m teaching my son to drive, should he look back when it’s dangerous to do so?
See this vid: ruclips.net/video/otBIqU3FrAY/видео.html For the purposes of the test, get your son to look out the back window. He can check the mirrors and backup camera, but the main line of sight has be be out the back window for the driver's test. Drop us a note if we can help further. All the best, Cheers Rick
@@smartdrivetest Wow thank you for the fast response and link, I appreciate it. After 20 years of New Jersey driving I’ve picked up some really bad driving habits, I don’t want to pass them on to my son. I appreciate your videos. Thank you so much.
To teach is to learn my friend. And you're a great Dad if you're looking stuff up and correcting your own driving behaviors. Drop us a note if we can help further. Cheers Rick
