- Sir Keir Starmer has paid back over £6,000 worth of gifts and hospitality including tickets for Taylor Swift, racing tickets and clothing for his wife - all received since becoming PM. This has raised questions over whether other senior Labour MPs who have accepted freebies will now pay for them.

To put it in context; Its nearly as much as the new higher rate state pension for the year which people are expected to live on! Lower rate old pension is even lower!

Ok, very important lesson for anyone that doesn’t know this yet because most of Britain doesn’t. You cannot run a party in Britain without taking large donations. Those donations are simply legal bribes, obviously. That is why they all work for big corporations and the rich. Please remember that at all times to understand why things happen. And no need to be partisan either, all the parties are doing the same thing unless specifically campaigning against it.

If you robbed a bank and got caught, and offered to give it back, you'd still be prosecuted. He won't be, but it doesn't change the fact that he is open to persuasion by gifts. Because we all know that if you recieve a gift, you have at the very least put yourself under an emotional pressure to the giver, to some degree. Its all the same thing with him and his team; they have no real moral fibre, and a total lack of sensible judgement, and seemingly a complete disregard for honesty in it's purest form. Add to that arrogance and self entitlement and delusional beliefs of thier superiority and infallability, and it makes for a disgraceful and potentially a dangerous team of leaders for our country. They don't seem to understand normal reasoning, and that any action has a reaction. You'd think anyone in thier positions would first of all know that accepting gifts is not a good idea, on so many levels, especially after they hounded the Conservatives so vocally for so long, so they knew very well what they were doing accepting gifts, they knew the probable outcome, and they did it anyway. A terrible weak government, who do not work for the legal citizens of the UK.

He didn't 'decide' to pay for anything, he was given no other choice politically. If no fuss had been made there would be NO CHANCE he is repaying a penny.
If he repays these bribes surely he and his fellow MPs have to repay an equivalent amount of cash to the value of the bribes that they have received.

Here's a thought - how about don't accept concert tickets and expensive clothes in the first place, then you don't have to reinvent the rules after you get 'caught'

Repayment is easy. This does not clarify the moral character of a human rights lawyer and a prime minister.

We already pay our MPs, PM and cabinet positions enough not to need to take anything at all. They are in the top 4 to 5% of earners, plus expenses and pensions.. which as a package probably puts them considerably higher.

None of these 'personal donations' cost the tax payer a penny so why all the fuss. If it's because politicians are much better paid than most of us and can well afford to 'pay their own way' that's understandable. Perhaps some good will come of this. If the rules allowed it and 'no rules were broken' a new set of rules prohibiting it would be good. Giving it back is also a good idea. Perhaps other politicians will follow suit (excuse the pun). It's all good. Let's focus on the positivity of the situation.
