- Follow these steps to reprogram your Toyota Keyless Remote code: GQ43VT20T
If this technique works for your car, please write your model and year of manufacture in the comments below to help others just like you.
These steps should work for most Toyotas with the remote code: GQ43VT20T. If you're having trouble reprogramming the remote after a few attempts, then you may need to give it a couple more attempts. If you still can't get it to work, then unfortunately you may need to search for an alternative technique.

Omg! IT WORKED! My key battery died, and after replacing it, i couldn’t lock or unlock my doors with my remote. Everyone told me it had to be reprogrammed at my car dealership. I didn’t want to spend all that money, so i looked up 2 videos before yours. 3rd times a charm. I would give you the biggest bear hug if I seen you in person bro. Lol! You saved me so much money. Oh, and by the way, my car model is a 2009 Scion tC (Toyota)

I lost the Master key on my 2006 Toyota Rav4.
The local Toyota garage has not gotten it to program the key and told me that you can not program a new remote key without the Black Master Key thanks to your video I've got it done💪🏻

Great, it worked for yaris tsport 2005...toyota dealers tried charging me £75 to program the new fob key. Thanks to this video it took 1 minute to program 👍

Thanks a lot!. This also works for prius 2008! Instead of ignition you press power twice. Then turn off by pressing power again. All the rest the same.

Programming or Reprogramming
1 Open driver's door and remove key from ignition switch.
2 Insert key into ignition switch, then remove it, then insert it, then remove it.
3 Within 40 seconds, close and open driver's door twice.
4 Insert key into ignition switch, then remove it.
5 Within 40 seconds, close and open driver's door twice.
6 Close driver's door.
7 Insert key into ignition switch.
8 Switch ignition to On for 1.5 seconds then Off.
9 Remove key.
10 Your car should now go through lock and unlock cycle.
11 Within 20 seconds, press and hold both Lock and Unlock buttons.
12 Within 3 seconds, press and hold Lock button.
13 Your car should now go through lock and unlock cycle.
14 Open the driver door to exit programming mode
Note: If system locks and unlock twice, then programming is incomplete, please restart programming from step 1. Open driver's door to exit programming

Thanks for this video, very helpful....had kind of an odd scenario though.
I went through the procedure, the vehicle did get into programming mode, I was able to program the key fob...and the fob will work on the rear doors only. The 2 front doors won’t lock or unlock at all. This is for a 2001 Toyota RAV4. I know you said this was more for later years, but as I said, I still was able to get it programmed...just not working on all the doors! Kind of stumped here.

HA, Ha. Went to the Toyota "Dealership" to get another keyless entry key flop programed to my 2014 Toco-ma . Only a cost of $350.oo estimate and a 2 hour wait latter? And the service writer came out and told me, "it couldn't be done because the "dealer" installed alarm system took out the body module. Really? How come the rest of the body controlled module functions? Function! The aqnd lying started didn't end. Oh ya, this was all at Rancho Santa Margareta Toyota in Orange County, CA. Even the service manager was in on it. Of course the car had a complete inspection and a laundry list of things to be serviced handed to me. But as far as adding the new flob? Cant be done. So, the lodgic is to look back at past applications from the manufacture. And here you are, and there it works. Thanks!

Great video but you have omitted two steps required to programme our toyota prado. After holding the lock and unlock button for a second, then holding the lock button for a second the locks cycled. THEN we had to put the key back in the ignition, turn the car on so the lights came up on the dashboard, then turn them off. Key out. Then hop out of the car and test the new remote. Instructions as follows in writing.
1. Open Driver side door
2. Put the Original key in and out of ignition for 2 times
3. Close and open driver door for 2 times
4. Original Key in and out for once
5. Shut and open door for twice
6. Close door
7. Put Original Key in the ignition and Turn ignition on
8. Turn ignition off and remove key
9. Door locks will cycle
10. Do the following for all remotes:
Press lock and unlock together for 1s, then press the lock button
11. Locks will cycle put key in ignition turn to on then off
12. Remove key from ignition, close door and test remote

Will this work if my original remote key is lost? I only have the duplicate but no remote. Just the key itself.
To program the remote, you need a working key.

What do I do if I don't know if the key is "the original" key? My key works and starts the car. But the buttons don't work and I've replaced the battery and it's buttons light up the keypad. It will not program. I've done it twenty times now.
I also tried deleting all codes. I don't get it. 🤔

Does it has to be the original key? Thief stole my key yesterday in San Francisco, Locksmith made me a new key, I bought a key fob for Sienna 2012, I followed your steps, but it didn’t work.

Hi mate. I have a toyota celica 2000 model uk version, and it has a remote intigrated in the key. (Key with 2 butons, lock and unlock). If i buy the same remote as yours from ebay and program it with my car, will it work ?
Hey mate, I can't be too sure but I'd probably say no. Most of the cars it seems to work on seem to be between 2004 - 2013. If you jump on Amazon or Ebay, you should be able to search for the correct remote for your car your. Often the seller will provide instructions with the remote.

Didn’t work, but the key still unlocks the door without the fob, and turns it on.
I get to the end where you hold both keys and then release and press lock, which locks and unlocks the door. Everything up to that point works just like you but after I open the door nothing happens anymore.

Now I bought a Kluger 2010 model and it has same remote.

I want to configure my single button remote with Toyota Corolla 2001 .
Just 1 problem . Mines a 2011 hilux deisel , The remote has 2 buttons , 1 for lock and 1 for alarm/immobiliser. So should i just push lock for a few seconds instead.
Sounds like you have a different key fob, so it probably won't work on your car. You might have to find a different programming tutorial - sorry I couldn't help more.

Got it to work but not sure why I have to program every week or so.
Could be that the battery in the remote is either flat, or it's getting dislodged inside the remote
