Just programmed a replacement key this morning for my 2014 Toyota Corolla that my teenager lost. The dealer wanted almost $500 for a replacement key and I did it for $95 and one hour's worth of time that included the drive to the locksmith to have the key cut. I rented a programer for my 2017 Toyota Camry SE. It worked great. My original key didn't have a built-in remote. So I purchased a new key w/ built in remote and rented the programmer. Took about 2 mins to program the new key and the remote. And I got the key cut for free at Home Depot. The dealership quoted me about $350 for a new keyed remote. I think I spent about 90 bucks total using Tom's.
As many people know you don't know a good company from a great one UNTIL THINGS GO WRONG... this was the case with my order. I received my order and had to wait until the weekend. I opened the order and found it was one key/remote short. I have to say the programming is as easy as it could be with written instructions in the box and links to the video that walked me through each step. So the only problem was the shortage. I wrote an Email on Sunday evening and had a response in Monday mornings Email. They realized the mistake and set the key out right away. Think I received it on Wednesday but thanks to having kids the car was not available until the weekend. This time in setting up the second key/remote, I must have made a mistake but the instructions addressed this too. I reset everything and tried again. Worked like a charm... Ordered… got it in 3 days.. waited a day because I’m lazy.. programmed everything in less than 5 minutes. On my way to get the key cut… make sure it works.. and put the package back in the mail this evening.. I can’t believe how fast that was. I bought two keys off Amazon that I used a Toyota Smart Keymaker on initially fir the transponder, and that turned on new indicator in my Camry. I ordered this to program the remote functions, which it did perfectly, but it also seems to have somehow turned off that (orange key in a car) indicator in the process.
Best method ever. I even bought the keys from amazon, just rent the device from Tom's to program my girl's Toyota 2014 Camry. She bought the car without remote, only one key. So I bought another two keys with remote and programmed them easily with the device.

I was trying to covert my standard OEM key for my Camry to a flip key that I bought off of EBay. I was successful in programming the remote functions but unsuccessful programming the key. Even though it did not work 100%, I was very satisfied with this service. They were very responsive to my emails and issued a credit for my deposit. I highly recommend this if you are trying to program a key or remote. Many others have used this successfully. The guarantee if it doesn’t work is great.
I bought their blank key and rented their device for my 2014 Camry in order to replace my lost car key. Their customer service is top notch. I'd use this service again as this is a growing company that really wants to provide excellent customer service. Be aware of the time limit needed to complete many of the steps (included in the detailed written instructions they send with your order) because if you don't the programming will fail. Please make it clear that written directions are for ignition programming, not fob button programming. Will definitely recommend to others. So far I haven’t come across a better cost effective option for dubbing my car keys.
Rented a programmer from Tom’s Key Company and bought a key from eBay. I followed these instructions and it worked like a charm! I have two fully functioning keys now.
Got a key for my 2007 Tacoma. The first time I tried to program it, it didn't work and I think it's because I plugged in the programmer before the car stopped beeping after I turned it to the on position. When I tried it the second time and waited till the beeping stopped after I turned the key to the on position it programed perfectly, just like they said it would. I'm very happy and I know I saved a lot of money. I will use Tom's again if I need a key.
Rented remote and bought the key from Tom's - worked great on a 2015 Toyota Rav4. If I were to do it again, I would also have them just cut the key before sending as opposed to making an additional local trip to a locksmith.
this worked very well, they shipped it fast and the whole thing worked well, keep in mind there are two steps in programming. one for the key and one for the remote . the instructions on this video is for the key only, and paper that comes with the package talks about the Remote.

Used on my daughters 2012 Camry and worked great. Highly recommend. Allow at least a week in shipping. Had the key cut for free at my local Lowes here in the US. Depending on who is working they may make you purchase a blank to get yours cut, but it still is cheap and they have locations everywhere.

We needed a duplicate key for our 2005 Lexus RX330, and it was easy to program both the key and the remote buttons. I would recommend Tom's Key Company if you need a replacment key. They worked hard to get my order right.
Got one and got it to work! The instructions are very clear and they do a great job of really guiding you through. I did run into trouble programming the key because I must have been using a valet key instead of a master key, but once I got the master key, I got it to work! I emailed them my issues and they helped me figure it out very quickly!

The key chip requires programming. Then the remote part to lock/unlock the doors requires the second part of the procedure. Key must be cut before it will start the engine. Excellent service - received the kit, programmed the remote, removed it from the new key and replaced the damaged remote in the original key. Also resuscitated a spare key w/remote using my original damaged remote's good battery. (2013 Toyota Camry). Highly recommended!

In your video at 1: 30 in , you demonstrated that the security light kept blinking thus showing it was not a valid key. Is the security system detecting it was a non valid key because it is the wrong style (example dot vrs G) or because it hadn't been programmed yet? Was the key you programmed the same key as the "non valid key". Thanks ahead.
Yes, the key inserted at 1:30 was the key being programmed in this video. At 1:30 it is before the key is programmed so the vehicle did not recognize the chip as authorized to slow the car to start. I believe that vehicle used at "G" chip key. Whatever chip the originalworking key was, it was the same type chip in the new key being programmed

Can they turn on the cart to drive it? If so, ensure you have a master key (not valet). Email help@tomskey.com to find out how to know difference if you need. If you have a master key that drives the car, you can make new keys including to lock/unlock the door. (as long as the car was factory equipped with remote lock/unlock feature. )
@@TomahawkDIY yes both my keys are master keys, but the alarm/ locking/unlocking of both keys stopped working . First I thought it was the battery but we changed that and it didn't work. But one of my keys used to open and lock the doors, but it stopped working.

@@TomahawkDIY for a lot of cars if you press Unlock + Press Unlock and hold 5 sec , not only with the other doors unlock but all the windows will come down . In my old 2004 VW if I turn the door key to Unlock and hold 5 sec , all the Windows come down ,, I'm pretty sure this feature is in the car Computer settings somewhere , but i don't have access to "dealer diagnostics" software. anyway thanks man (Looking for answers)

Unfortunately no. Toyota requires a master key to be able to make another key. If you can get a locksmith or Toyota dealer to make a new master key, then you can rent the programmer to make another master key.

@@rojlanz7432 check out at 2:00 in this video. It does not matter if it was made by a locksmith. Need to see if it's a master key or valet key. If master key it can be used to program new keys. Programmed a new fob and now the trunk keeps popping open when I press the buttons for the doors. But only does it after the doors work normally at first.

Unfortunately, no way that we know. But, the TSL-2 programmer has ability to erase lost keys, so you could order that programmer instead of the TSL-1. Contact help@tomskey for assistance.
Two ideas that could be there problem: 1) Remember that the key chip is programmed separately from the remote buttons. Both programming procedures need to be completed. 2) there could be a problem like using a valet key to program, having too many keys already programmed in vehicle computer, or having the wrong chip in the new key. Can you reprogram an original key I lost it, get a new key set up without the other features like dook and trunk unlock, the found the original. It turnes in the car, but won't start it. What would you recommend?

You can have 4 to 5 fobs on most Toyota vehicles The programmer gets paired to the VIN number of the first vehicle you program. It can make several keys for that vehicle. Looking on your website for a key for my 2016 Camry and I don't see a key for HYQ12BDM H chip. You only show this key Toyota Camry & Corolla Key and Remote ("H" Chip Key with 4 Button Keyless Entry Remote FOB) HYQ12BEL-4B-H. I'm assuming this is not the right key, right? One more question if you will, How many keyless entry remote fobs can I make without the transponder. My old key works just won't lock or unlock doors.

I was trying to covert my standard OEM key for my Camry to a flip key that I bought off of EBay. I was successful in programming the remote functions but unsuccessful programming the key. Even though it did not work 100%, I was very satisfied with this service. They were very responsive to my emails and issued a credit for my deposit. I highly recommend this if you are trying to program a key or remote. Many others have used this successfully. The guarantee if it doesn’t work is great.
I bought their blank key and rented their device for my 2014 Camry in order to replace my lost car key. Their customer service is top notch. I'd use this service again as this is a growing company that really wants to provide excellent customer service. Be aware of the time limit needed to complete many of the steps (included in the detailed written instructions they send with your order) because if you don't the programming will fail. Please make it clear that written directions are for ignition programming, not fob button programming. Will definitely recommend to others. So far I haven’t come across a better cost effective option for dubbing my car keys.

Rented a programmer from Tom’s Key Company and bought a key from eBay. I followed these instructions and it worked like a charm! I have two fully functioning keys now.
Got a key for my 2007 Tacoma. The first time I tried to program it, it didn't work and I think it's because I plugged in the programmer before the car stopped beeping after I turned it to the on position. When I tried it the second time and waited till the beeping stopped after I turned the key to the on position it programed perfectly, just like they said it would. I'm very happy and I know I saved a lot of money. I will use Tom's again if I need a key.

Rented remote and bought the key from Tom's - worked great on a 2015 Toyota Rav4. If I were to do it again, I would also have them just cut the key before sending as opposed to making an additional local trip to a locksmith.

this worked very well, they shipped it fast and the whole thing worked well, keep in mind there are two steps in programming. one for the key and one for the remote . the instructions on this video is for the key only, and paper that comes with the package talks about the Remote.

Had the key cut for free at my local Lowes here in the US. Depending on who is working they may make you purchase a blank to get yours cut, but it still is cheap and they have locations everywhere.

We needed a duplicate key for our 2005 Lexus RX330, and it was easy to program both the key and the remote buttons. I would recommend Tom's Key Company if you need a replacment key. They worked hard to get my order right.

I did run into trouble programming the key because I must have been using a valet key instead of a master key, but once I got the master key, I got it to work! I emailed them my issues and they helped me figure it out very quickly!

With Toyota you program first. Then the red light confirms it's programmed. Then you cut it.

The key chip requires programming. Then the remote part to lock/unlock the doors requires the second part of the procedure. Key must be cut before it will start the engine. Excellent service - received the kit, programmed the remote, removed it from the new key and replaced the damaged remote in the original key. Also resuscitated a spare key w/remote using my original damaged remote's good battery. (2013 Toyota Camry). Highly recommended!

In your video at 1: 30 in , you demonstrated that the security light kept blinking thus showing it was not a valid key. Is the security system detecting it was a non valid key because it is the wrong style (example dot vrs G) or because it hadn't been programmed yet? Was the key you programmed the same key as the "non valid key". Thanks ahead.
Yes, the key inserted at 1:30 was the key being programmed in this video. At 1:30 it is before the key is programmed so the vehicle did not recognize the chip as authorized to slow the car to start. I believe that vehicle used at "G" chip key. Whatever chip the originalworking key was, it was the same type chip in the new key being programmed

How about if you don't have a working key? Both my original keys don't open or close the doors. What can I do?
Can they turn on the cart to drive it? If so, ensure you have a master key (not valet). Email help@tomskey.com to find out how to know difference if you need. If you have a master key that drives the car, you can make new keys including to lock/unlock the door. (as long as the car was factory equipped with remote lock/unlock feature. )
@@TomahawkDIY yes both my keys are master keys, but the alarm/ locking/unlocking of both keys stopped working . First I thought it was the battery but we changed that and it didn't work. But one of my keys used to open and lock the doors, but it stopped working.

Can you program the remote without programing the transponder chip?
Yes. Remote is separate from the chip. Two different programming procedure needed to do both, so you can do only one if needed.

@@TomahawkDIY for a lot of cars if you press Unlock + Press Unlock and hold 5 sec , not only with the other doors unlock but all the windows will come down . In my old 2004 VW if I turn the door key to Unlock and hold 5 sec , all the Windows come down ,, I'm pretty sure this feature is in the car Computer settings somewhere , but i don't have access to "dealer diagnostics" software. anyway thanks man (Looking for answers)

Unfortunately no. Toyota requires a master key to be able to make another key. If you can get a locksmith or Toyota dealer to make a new master key, then you can rent the programmer to make another master key.

@@rojlanz7432 check out at 2:00 in this video. It does not matter if it was made by a locksmith. Need to see if it's a master key or valet key. If master key it can be used to program new keys. Unfortunately, no way that we know. But, the TSL-2 programmer has ability to erase lost keys, so you could order that programmer instead of the TSL-1. Contact help@tomskey for assistance.
What’s the problem when you can program the remote, but not the key of a 2016 Toyota Camry
Two ideas that could be there problem: 1) Remember that the key chip is programmed separately from the remote buttons. Both programming procedures need to be completed. 2) there could be a problem like using a valet key to program, having too many keys already programmed in vehicle computer, or having the wrong chip in the new key. What do you mean by one and a half button?

The programmer gets paired to the VIN number of the first vehicle you program. It can make several keys for that vehicle. But for a different vehicle you need to get another programmer.

Looking on your website for a key for my 2016 Camry and I don't see a key for HYQ12BDM H chip. You only show this key Toyota Camry & Corolla Key and Remote ("H" Chip Key with 4 Button Keyless Entry Remote FOB) HYQ12BEL-4B-H. I'm assuming this is not the right key, right? One more question if you will, How many keyless entry remote fobs can I make without the transponder. My old key works just won't lock or unlock doors.
