An easier way to jump into a space that is two blocks tall, is to hit shift in air, so that you are crouching

Since Minecraft’s jump distance calculations are momentum, speed, and direction based, you could theoretically clear any gap. You’d just need a near infinite run up. The practical and simple answer is 4 block gaps, but 5 block gaps have been cleared before. No jump boost or speed.
