    Howdy Mr. Matt...
    Very cool video. 😎 Very informative with all the snap shots of the different bits as you're using them. Excellent Job Sir.
    I am definitely gonna have to give this a try.
    You say this is called "Relief" carving? I just finished up a "Relief" carving of a heart for the wife using Jordy Johnsons "Valentines Heart" he did about a year ago for inspiration.
    I am currently doing another "Relief" carving for a customer (co-worker) of a fairy mushroom house with 2 fairies 🧚‍♀️ in love. Extremely highly detailed. I'm using micro bits at the moment for outlines of the fairies.
    Have you/do you use micro bits? They are like Itty bitty teenie weenie drill bits about the thickness of a sewing needle.
    Do you have an email or something for people to send you pics of what they've carved after watching you?
    Glad you took my advice with the longer video with instructions. It sure is gonna help me ALOT. So, I'm sure it's gonna help others too.
    Great Job Sir!!!

    How about using a router carefully to quickly remove all that wood from around the shape?

    • @MattCarves
      @MattCarves  11 месяцев назад

      I don't have a router, but it sounds like a great idea. 👍

    Thanks Matt. When you say macrocarpa is that the species of eucalyptus or a separate genus.?

    • @MattCarves
      @MattCarves  Год назад

      Not eucalyptus. Hesperocyparis macrocarpa also known as Cupressus macrocarpa,] or the Monterey cypress is a coniferous tree, and is one of several species of cypress trees endemic to California.

      That's tough, hard when it's at the end of the carving.
