I love Bad English...!! They should be union again.. I couldn't understand why they broke up... They create amazing songs.. Awesome group.. I missed Bad English.. And John Waithe has a beautifull voice and amazing harmony by those musician in tthe group of Bad English..🙏
According to Billboard, Bad English's song "Straight to Your Heart" debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on August 31, 1991 and peaked at number 42 on October 19, 1991.
You're correct. I remember that song peaking somewhere between #27 to #29. It's strange why billboard, wikipedia, etc., would lie.. I'm certain, this isn't the only time.
I, for one, was really disappointed by what Journey released post-Frontiers so it was great to see Schon (a guitar hero of mine) and Cain do what they do best.
Nice video bro, retired professional drummer here from Los Angeles 40+ years on these skins. I cut my teeth on both Journey and the Babys in the late 70's, and early to mid 80's and this is my take on Bad English. Imo, they had amazing potential to be an amazing super group but fizzled out because 1) the year they were in, and 2) cause glamour rock, mixed with pop, mixed with hype which mixed with crap was big but was also destined to be short lived, just my p.o.v. ok? The goods: Deen is a GD monster, amazing drummer, amazing singer and writer. Listen to him on Mathew Ward's album FORTRESS 1990, especially WARRIOR) Imo, when Deen and Arnel were touring with Journey, that was thee best Journey line up ever. Remember, I listened to Journey since before Steve Perry, or any vocalists even sang for them ok?? Put Deen, Neal (founder of Journey, who played with Santana when he was 15!!!) Jonathan (A+ player, singer and amazing writer!) and Ricky on bass!!?.... amazing potential. For me, on the real?......Bad English was one of the biggest let downs, for me, in the last several decades, like my opinion or not.
Two great albums from a great band. Hardline were pretty good, too. Just a shame that Schon's (apparent) ego killed them both when they were in their prime.
The inner conflict: John Waite wanted more ballads. Neal. Schon wanted more rock 🎸 songs. RIP Mark Spiro, March 2024. Forget Me Not and Straight to Your Heart. Written by him, Jonathan Cain and Neal Schon. The other spinoff of Journey was The Storm. Ross Valory and Greg Rolie were members. I was a fan of Bad English and The Storm. Unfortunately, Steve Perry will not return to Journey. I like 👍 Arnel Pineda in Journey.
Actually just got finished listening to “Time Stood Still” from the “Backlash” album. Great band that broke up way too soon.
Backlash is a good album.
A great band - please come back !
Wouldn't it be great if they reformed?!!?
I loved John Waite and Jonathan Cain

Definitely wish THIS lineup would be better than Today’s Journey
Yes I said it.

This guy was 100% wrong. Their song Streight To Your Heart did make the top 40. It peaked at number 29 back in 1991.

Nice video. John and Jon have made it clear, there will be no reunion.

Totally agree, Mike D. "Bad English" really allowed those two to shine again.
