    Great bike check! Just thought we'd chime in with a little more info on the tires. Nino's Aspens use our 170 TPI casing which saves weight over the 120 TPI version available publicly. The higher thread count also gives Nino a super supple ride.

    • @caylanwojciechowski8233

      MaxxisTiresUSA will they be available in the thread count or is reserved for sponsored athletes?

      tire width please

    • @jaykan1002
      @jaykan1002 6 лет назад +7

      My guess is likely no. 170 tpi is insanely high even by road cycling standard, let alone the tougher and more abusive terrain of MTB/XC.
      The higher the TPI, the thinner the thread, thus the casing is incredibly light, supple, and FAST, but it also means it doesn't have nearly as much protection against cuts, punctures, etc. Running tubeless would certainly help, but for the general public that can't afford changing new tires every ride or a pro mechanic checking their equipment after each ride, 170 tpi wouldn't be very durable.... at least relatively speaking. I don't think the public would be very happy to purchase a very expensive tire and have it torn up much easier than other tires they have ridden.
      That said, I'm pretty sure UCI has a rule stating that all the equipment used much be made available for public use within a certain time limit... there is one weird exception to this, and that's pro road team's use of the special continental pro tire. For whatever reason, that tire is still not available to the public.

There is a lot happening down there and I like to see how the frame and components and suspension and such all come together.

      well , MY point was that it is pretty impressive , considering my hard tail frame weighs 900 grams, my build is unicorn feathers, magic nympho dust and carbon, well... everything ... ... ... it wasn't a matter of the cost of it , it's just that they were able to build the thing to that weight in the first place , and that it is strong enough to survive some hard riding ... it's impressive , no matter what it cost ... and to be honest if i were any more "relax"ed , technically i would have to be asleep ... so , yeah .. i think you missed the point

      Andrew Frink Vertical compliance would take a massive hit which slows you down and makes the ride harsher id probably why theyre not deep section rims. Not nearly enough downhill or speedy flat sections for deeper rims to give much gain either
