Great bike check! Just thought we'd chime in with a little more info on the tires. Nino's Aspens use our 170 TPI casing which saves weight over the 120 TPI version available publicly. The higher thread count also gives Nino a super supple ride.
My guess is likely no. 170 tpi is insanely high even by road cycling standard, let alone the tougher and more abusive terrain of MTB/XC. The higher the TPI, the thinner the thread, thus the casing is incredibly light, supple, and FAST, but it also means it doesn't have nearly as much protection against cuts, punctures, etc. Running tubeless would certainly help, but for the general public that can't afford changing new tires every ride or a pro mechanic checking their equipment after each ride, 170 tpi wouldn't be very durable.... at least relatively speaking. I don't think the public would be very happy to purchase a very expensive tire and have it torn up much easier than other tires they have ridden. That said, I'm pretty sure UCI has a rule stating that all the equipment used much be made available for public use within a certain time limit... there is one weird exception to this, and that's pro road team's use of the special continental pro tire. For whatever reason, that tire is still not available to the public.
I have a 2016 Focus Raven Max SL full XTR double and I upgraded to DT Swiss XRC 1200 wheels 2 the 54 hub upgrade, love the sound bussing through the trails and naturally the light weight and stiffness of the DT wheels and Focus frame
Thanks, Doddy, for another fabulous look-see. That bike is carbon everything and it is gorgeous. And one request, if I may--could you please give us a shot of the underside of the bottom bracket? There is a lot happening down there and I like to see how the frame and components and suspension and such all come together.
Wow, actual footage of the new sram stuff. 30mm rims? Damn, I have to rethink my next wheelset. I've been on the 25mm train. My 55 Chevy is going up for sale to put this next bike together. Good to see some xc love on this channel.
Nino's bike checks are always immaculate, with no sign of any wear. Super trick bike, though I think they have an extra (this bike) to use as a promotional tool.
Olly Gibson I got one used and it’s fast and very light. We weighed mine and it was 25 lbs, which could easily be reduced if you wanted. Not tons of travel, though, if you like taking some bigger hits, drops, rock gardens, etc.
What a bike mate!.. great video and superb explanation !!.....the SRAM AXS will be installed in my new project MTB. I've got my EPIC with XTR Di2 so next one gotta be a hardtail AXS equipped!..
Hello all, can I get some input on spacers for an integrated handlebar/stem under the bar computer mount? between the mount and the handlebar/stem. so it would be a m5 spacer from 6mm to 8mm or 10mm, Thank you for your help.
so as a roadie, it always surprises me that you MTB guys haven't figured out deep section wheels. It seems like Nino would be going fast enough to get some advantage out of them. Is there a UCI rule that limits the allowed wheel depth?
Andrew Frink Vertical compliance would take a massive hit which slows you down and makes the ride harsher id probably why theyre not deep section rims. Not nearly enough downhill or speedy flat sections for deeper rims to give much gain either
Doesn't seem to be a gap. Could be just the normal space that's caused by the bearing race and bearings? The fork crown and headtube are often not flush with a little gap there.
yeh, like having a crew cut up front and a headbanger in the back! If that's yer style go for it! I actually came here to check out the Fraser SL Bar to see the degree of slam. 25 degrees is too much for me tho. 10 negative seems about right.
What is funny is that intense cycles makes a lighter XC frame and they are a downhill bike company, their XC bikes have more trail like geometry which gives them a leg up in races while maintain great pedal efficiency
Rich Piana's Oil Distribution Manager Well, have you searched it? No, literally there is on official Scott website the price of spark rc 900 2018. It is about $6000. Kid.
It proves that dual suspension bikes are far superior even with the weight disadvantage. Nino runs 29 inchers and the heavier frame and wins gold. While london and bejing he runs hardtails with 2-3lbs difference in weight and loses really badly.
Warning: The pivot bolts on Spark frame are aluminium, so they are very weak. Some owners are snapping those when they tight the pivot to the correct torque spec. Since 2016 models that this is happening, and Scott does not seems to care about...and they are very expensive. A Spark owner.

MaxxisTiresUSA will they be available in the thread count or is reserved for sponsored athletes?
what width is he running?
Are they a normal width version or are they a wide trail for his 30 mm rims?
tire width please

Were you allowed to touch the shifter?
No
most probably not
It was an unreleased product and Sram didn't want to leak anything.
A full box of tissues with this one.

Yesss!! Sram Eagle Etap is right around the corner
How can you not give this a BIG LIKE !!

So I did not watch mtb vids for a year and the tech changed soooo much
Damn, that's crazy. I was starting to think XC bike weights were top secret. Pretty much top of the line you're ever going to see right there.
Can you look at the other top xc bikes too, the specialised, trek top fuel, and any others
Nino's bike checks are always immaculate, with no sign of any wear. Super trick bike, though I think they have an extra (this bike) to use as a promotional tool.
Please show the scale readout when you weigh the bikes. Like your stuff.
albeit being an rockshox sponsored athlete, why is nino running a FOX Nude damper. You can see it at 0:32.
BB rides thinking the same thing
Nice catch! Didn’t see it there
Cause Fox Suspension is better than Rockshox.
@@comewarpeacecraft7927 they are more premium as they don't have entry level. in this case, SID has not a thing to envy to Fox. nice try, tho
Im from nz and Nino is still my fav xc rider.
@@般的な-y6z too angry.
How Nino rides with such low bars is beyond me. Clearly he wins! 👍
22 dislikes from Sam Gaze´s family and friends
Love the champion stripes under the seat post!
Does it actually say CAP EPIC on the frame??
Came down to comment the same thing :D
Little big error on the bike
I think so... 😬
thought it might have been the french spelling or some nonsense. Nope they just spelt it wrong.
I think it just rubbed off on a crash
Super sick bike!!
Nino is the Man.
Can you say "of course" one more time, please?
Yeah, I NEED this bike - because, why not?
*My couple of years old Bmx Racing bike is around 9,5kg* ... This is one Light Mtb

Under 10 kg......Amazing!!
Not seen the AX lightness XC hardtail yet. A proper bike and only 6.8kg.
RUclips User u was said

But nino's bike is full sus
The full sus xc bike under 10kg

pupsamson777 it is hardtail right?..
We are talking about full sus weight 😳😂
pupsamson777 ok
My fault 😂
I love it now I have idea for my xc hardtail and enduro mountain bike
Thinking of getting the spark 900 World Cup

Doddy makes every bike look like it has 26” wheels.
Of Course!
no oval ring?
Do XC riders drop in the chainring size? or they always ride on a 36 t chainring?
How is his or other pros of his caliber suspension setup? How much sag? How much pressure?
Do you think you will be able to use Sram red etap shifter with this eagle etap mech similar to a Dura-ace di2 shifter and a xtr di2 rear mech??
Only in my dreams.. to have this kind of bike..
What a bike mate!.. great video and superb explanation !!.....the SRAM AXS will be installed in my new project MTB. I've got my EPIC with XTR Di2 so next one gotta be a hardtail AXS equipped!..
Lovely bike
How many XC bikes are cappable of installing 36+ teeth chainring?
how many times did he say "of course"?
How can i buy tbat bike, and how much the cost...
If that was my bike, idk how I'd ever ride it, it's just too perfect I'd be worried about crashing or even getting it scratched hahahah
Nice job. Sorry, your
POC sunglasses what model are?
stem how many degrees 8? 17? or 25 degrees
Does it have wifi?
What a bike.
is there any difference in the position of the back/middle suspension being totally vertically, semi vertically or horizontal??
hello everyone. why doesnt this bike includes dropper seat post knowing that some tracks in the competion has technical downhill or rocky ones. thanks
1 word: skill
what size of frame ? is this

Someone tell me, what is the different between rear suspension near the top tube and one near the bottom bracket just like this scott has.
when did Nino switch to 27.5 to 29 wheels?:)
Hermosa divina joder no adjetivos para describir tanta belleza
Hi i buy an Lombardo Sestriere 500, normally i don't go to dh or Enduro. Is a good bike?
Nino use fox rear suspension ?, written in that bio data
what is the saddle height of this bike?
How many teeth has the ratchet in the rear hub?

do you jnow what size buke it is? S or M? how high is Nino? and finally what size of the crank, 170mm or 175mm? thanks,
I got a similar one like that for Christmas
Quick question why he moved from 25mm XRC to 30mm XMC ? really worth 100g more?
frame size ?
What is the size?
Can someone explain the gap on the crown on the fork and bottom of the head tube. If he wants a low front end then why does he have such a thing?

9.55kg for a full suspension with 30mm rims is very impressive
