  • There's nothing inherently wrong with self care, therapy, or romance-but many people overemphasize or even overindulge in them. Here's how I think we should be approaching each.

Because, in a world of commercially dominated, saturation marketing/propaganda, ANYTHING they can tell you to help you feel inadequate, and sell you for the illusion of feeling better, will be overrated

Everything in moderation as the saying goes.
Self care isn't always pretty, it's doing things you don't want to, because that *is* how you take care of yourself. - Taking accountability for yourself.
I do agree with what is being said!

I agree that doing things you don't fee like doing is often good in the long run and feels like "investing" (short term vs long term reward), that said I do believe now that sometimes we just need to take a break and do things just because it feels good, I don't know if it's self care or not, could be indulgence ok, but I fail to see how that's a bad thing if it doesn't last long and doesn't become a habit

@@jammyuse Agreed. Don't let indulgence become a habit and it should be fine.

As a massage therapist, massages are totally worth it! Especially if you have a good therapist who will help you fix chronic conditions. BUT you must meet your therapist half way and actually DO the stretches and exercises we recommend!

I have always thought this about self-care. Every person blowing money they don't have on their vanity and ego just calls it self-care. These same people won't eat right, exercise or read a book, but "self-care" is very important when they want a new dress or to get their nails done

I think Mark is confusing romance and passion.

OK, I get your first point totally, and then you move onto the second point you haven’t lived long enough to comment on some of the stuff you can only comment on your experience and on things like that you should probably refrain from speaking you misleading people in your grifting
