Thanks for the heads up on the upcoming Legend Auction. Really nice looking coins. The prices on coins and currency seem to be overheated these days.

Coin collecting trends come and go. In the 1990s every collector I knew was collection copper cents then in the early 2000s murc dimes then Morgans but this could also be that I'm getting older and that's just what I saw as a trend because that's all my age group had money for at the time.

Interesting thought. I can definitely see trends in what's popular come and go. I know large cents are really struggling right now, but were supposedly hot in the 70's and 80s.

@@premiumtonedcoins7749 I was listening to a coin channel and they go to all the big coin shows and interview deals (coin week?? 98% sure) they were interviewing a large cent collector about affordability of the set and the collecter said " The price isn't that bad!!! An entry level large cent set will run you about $900 per coin for some good quality entry level coins in the G to VG grades. Any collecter would be happy with." There are about 102 coins in the set counting the common veritys. So an entry level set is around $91,000 im struggling with $15,000 Peace dollar set around the MS64 area. Also my wife would kill me if I had coins with the Same value of a Porsche.

If you want to be a good auction buyer, there are a few things you need to do. Find out what comparative auctions sold for. Take an average and then x that by .80. Never go over that in an auction. Bid straight with no emotion and you will be happy.

Man I’ve been bidding aggressively too and getting my ass kicked lately haha. My strategy has been to bid in volume where I’m tracking and bidding on hundreds of lots. I’m loosing 98% of the time but still land a couple good deals a week. It’s been all eBay lately because the big auction houses have been stupid out of control lately

I thought about you when I saw all those pretty half dollars on the Legend Auction. 😀👍 You are right of course, it will depend on how high the bids go. Currency prices are off the hook too! Please take a look at some of those Toned Morgan Dollars. I am far from an expert, but some of those look artificial to me. It could be that I am not use to seeing really quality toners. lol 😂
