My name is Eric and I travel with my cat, “Jax” in a 2012 Coachmen Mirada 32BH Class A Motorhome on a Ford Super Duty truck chassis. (V10 Triton) We travel about 35 miles a day chasing 70 degrees year-round since 2010. I travel with a 2009 Honda CMX 250 on the back of my RV on a Titan Ramp 600lb carrier. Bike goes 78mph and gets 70mpg. Here is my gear & some popular questions answered:

I've heard of the color periwinkle and the periwinkle flower, but I have never seen the periwinkle animal. Great to know! Washington is beautiful and I bet the temperature is nice, too. I'm in Illinois and it's hot..hot...hot! Nice footage of Jax! He was really chomping on that grass. He likes the natural areas, too. I'm sorry to hear about Rife lake. I've watched all your videos from your visits there. Beautiful memories. I'm sad that I never made it to that area. i feel ya Eric, every time i turn around they are paving over a dirt road that holds memories. and now since the road is paved... that increases the traffic flow. then comes road signs, guard rails, and of course speed limit signs. now of course you can't pull off on the shoulder anymore and just take a quick stroll in the woods like ya used to. OH and now that dirt road that had NO NAME, now has a road sign with a name on it, and it's not what we or the locals called it and knew it by. so yes times are a changin and not always for the better. Hey Eric, The wife and I were just at Riffe Lake on the 25th of June. We must have just made it in time before the closure. Glad we got to experience it before it was gone. We ALWAYS pick up trash and do what we can to preserve a site but we noticed a real trash issue there. We think that's why this beautiful camp was closed. Sorry that it went down like that. People have a responsibility to leave things better that when they found it and I'm so glad that you spread the word about cleaning up and doing our part. Thanks...
Portland and Seattle are off my travel plans. I was sad when Rife lake closed the lakeside camp as well. It is close for me too.
I just left the PNW, because the Californians have completed their conquest.

I am sorry to hear that the Lake where you shared so many special memories, as are so many other places, being closed. Usually it's not because of the few (like you) that do their part, but unfortunately the many that don't.

I’ve never heard of the creature called Periwinkle… so very cool! The river is so beautiful, loved seeing the beautiful trees, ferns and moss. I loved all the footage of JaxMan 😻.

I thought a Periwinkle was a Gastropod and or a Flower. I think you will find its a Caddis Fly.
Ditto. I’ve always called these caddisfly larvae. Periwinkles are a type of marine snail.
Hey I grew up calling them periwinkles. Maybe that’s their nickname.
In England they are sea snails and eaten...by some...yuk!
