  • We went to Capital Forest to explore a Cave and my cousin is going to show me how he Rockbound for agates and Cool Rocks.

    This is an old gold mine from long ago, i do not have any history on it but i was in the mine in the early 70s, there are several old mine shafts up in the peak area. One used to be right by the road but DNR covered it up several years ago.

    Looks like fun. My Grandparents were avid rockhounds. They would go all over the country looking for specific rocks. When they had both passed away, I can't tell you how many tons of rocks they had collected. Maybe I will see you on the river someday. I have got to get down to Blue Creek. Maybe next week.

    How far down does that cave go, ive been in it but not very deep only had phone light.

      Not to far like down and around the corner. its maybe 40 yards deep.
