I live in this great city of Tokyo, and I love watching time-lapse videos of it like this. I often wonder what people think of their own great cities like NY, London, Paris, Beijing, Rome, Seoul etc.

Ive been to Tokyo 4 times, and cannot wait til i go again - this view reminds me of when we stopped in the New Otani hotel in Akasaka - great view of the Shinjuku skyline.
Brilliant choice of music too - that solaris soundtrack is one of my all time favourites - 'dont blow it' and 'will she come back' are beautiful tunes.

I confirm, it is Shinjuku district area.
Personally, I prefer Shibuya district area: the Shibuya Station and the 109 building intersection is so nice. The entertainment, the bars and the love hotels: the best place for hang over!

This is one of the most BEAUTIFUL Things i have ever seen in my life despite being a city. I canno wait to go to TOKYO and see thsi while learnign japanese for a WHOLE YEAR! *hint-look around the web very HARD* This is VERY BEAUTIFUL.

I was lucky to spend a month in August on holidays in AZABU EAST TOKYO in 2008. One of my best souvenirs was my stay in a beautiful and modern flat very close to the Tokyo tower with a view similar to the one above. Vive la magie du Japon et la gentilesse des Japonais... Then the music of this clip tunes so well with the mystery of this Country so far away from me a European. Merci samtk01.

Lovely. I have been in Tokyo for a couple of months now and have been thinking of trying to do something like this (I have a DSLR, VirtualDub and Vegas, too) to try and convey the beauty I find in the city at night.

@astralplane47 Tokyo is nowhere near a grid system. The streets seem as if they were laid out randomly without planning. The thing that they did smarter than the US was build up instead of out

How did you get the exposure right on both the city and the sky? HDR? especially as the lighting changes, stilll nothing is blwon out or in shadow. How?
