- The Portal End Credits song trilogy is finally complete!! The incredible Benny Benack III returns once more with another Jonathan Coulton composed game music hit "You Wouldn't Know" from Lego Dimensions: Portal!
In this arrangement, I fused this incredible tune with the big band classic "Ain't That a Kick in the Head" originally sung by Dean Martin (which was arranged by the great Nelson Riddle)! It's a testament to great song writing when your lyrics and melody can function in an entirely different context like this, so huge thanks to Jonathan Coulton for this great piece of music!

It's remarkable how much the songwriter was able to keep Glados in character despite Lego being more child friendly.
Jonathan Coulton, he's the guy who wrote all the portal songs, which makes it even better they got him back for the Lego one
Plus adding in the casual "I was saying this to Batman" as if it were totally normal for GladOS to be chatting with a superhero

man lego dimensions will always be the weirdest things to come out of the toys to life genre. lego always made sense to go into toys to life genre but the way they did it was truly something different and having a credits sequence that's straight out of the portal games really drives that home
The devs at Traveler’s Tales were probably talking about their new short-term partners at Valve like “Yeeeaaah their ass is never making a third game, might as well get the most out of this opportunity”
Really let it sink it in that characters that are canonically in a child’s imagination (The Lego Movie) met glados and a god basically

@@kaitlyn__L eh I wouldn't really call it a tie-in. Moreso fan-service. It was written by the same songwriter as Still Alive and Want You Gone; sung by Ellen McClain, and played over the end credits of the game as a surprise for fans. Lego Dimensions was incredibly faithful to all of the franchises they included, but I think the devs had a particularly special place in their hearts for portal. Playing through the two portal levels in that game honestly feels like you're playing a Portal Game (albeit made of Lego, and Batman and Gandalf are there for one of them).
I honestly truly appreciate someone actually tackling this song!! Lego Dimensions is such an underrated game and I appreciate it getting some attention!!
It came around the tail end of the "Buy our game and our toys" era, when parents were thoroughly done with the concept.

I LOVE how this sounds. I don't know the original, but I love Benny's voice from the other Portal songs anyway, and just the general feel of the whole song. It's already on repeat! I'm just waiting for you to come to the UK... 😭😭😭

I can’t thank you enough for making this types of songs, they bring me so much light in a place of darkness. I think they don't publish their sheet music due to fear of copyright infringement. Copyright law is weird, and since by covering VGM they're already operating in a grey area, they don't want to push it :/

I have been through their whole catalogue since I found them and I can safely say that no, they have never missed. Only been great and amazing. Some examples are stand out, like the Portal covers and Snake Eater, but EVERYTHING they do is gold.

Jonathan Coulton has to be one of if not my most favorite artists of all time, and your covers of his songs for Portal made me feel like a child in awe when I discovered his music through some really old World of Warcraft machinimas. Thank you so much for not just this cover but all of your amazing covers!
Lego Dimensions was a lot of fun, how crazy the crossover plots were but they all worked so well, and of course, gave us the closest thing we ever got to a Portal 3, complete with GlaDOS song at the end
Agreed. Multiversus is fun, but between it and LEGO Dimensions of which is the better “WB throws every franchise they have the rights to in a blender” game, I’d pick Dimensions- even if just for the GLaDOS inclusion.

It’d be a dream come true if you could cover a LittleBigPlanet song! That series was my childhood. I have 3 options I’d absolutely LOVE to hear,
1) Orb of Dreamers - Daniel Pemberton TV Orchastra
2) The Gardens - Mat Clark & Kenneth Young (that flute part would be SO impressive)
3) Get It Together - The Go Team (It’d take some creativity to make it into a big band cover but it’s such a good song and super iconic)

Recently, a Portal Gun set got added to the line-up for the next Lego Ideas pick.
I pray they make that because it's been years since Lego Dimensions, and we need official Lego Portal sets.
They've made Ghostbusters, they made Back To The Future, they've made Sonic, I believe it's time for a Portal set.
