Hey Logan! It was neat to watch more of a philosophical video. I have similar thoughts when it comes to striving for things like economic security. But I'm moving in a different direction by focusing more on cutting expenses and enjoying downtime. For example, instead of a car, I have a little electric motorcycle to get around. So my monthly cost of ownership is around $25 for insurance, maintenance and parking (This winter will be interesting lol). I know being super frugal won't be fun in the long term when I eventually have a family. But I have a couple ideas for this with one being to start a city in the middle of nowhere with low living expenses. Anyhow, there is no right way to live life. And it's fun to see how different people deal with the current problems most of us face.
Thank you for sharing! Others will benefit from your comment. Being frugal is a skill everyone needs to learn before they make good money anyways, otherwise they won’t keep it 😂 the city sounds like a cool idea
I agree with you because I feel like especially us millennials, and even Gen Z have to work extra hard to have anything. But this amount that we are overworking ourselves just to have a decent life and a place to live is ridiculous. Some of us had to take breaks I had the worst burn out for a couple of yearsand no, I’m gonna do the balance until I feel better mentally
The burnout is the worst, I’ve been there and it sucks cause you know you’re losing progress but you’re exhausted. Good luck with that & everything else 🤝
@@loganwillx thank you ! Yes I’m taking it a day at a time and making progress even if it’s slow. When I am ready I will make all the changes I have to make to pick up pace again in my life ! 💕 I’m not downplaying your advice by the way it was in my feed and I obviously clicked it bc I thought it was something I wanted to hear. I think what I want to say is that you have to be in right headspace to make those commitments to make these wins.
Interesting video. Glad the algorithm led me here. Im 26 and currently changing career fields. Feels like im starting again from ground zero. I fought through negative thoughts that parallel attitudes that you have in this video. Life's hardest trials will show us exactly the work that we need to put in to live on our edge / fullest potential. The real challenge proves to be maintaining the same work ethic through the good times. The concern I have is how you talk about how you fit in with your "successful" friends. Are they making you feel this way? Or are you choosing to put them on a pedestal bc they have more money? In either case, I value my friendships that feel like a win for them is a win for me (and vice versa). Subscribed; Interested to see how you progress. Stay blessed
The second chunk of text here is great, thank you for sharing that so others can see as well! As for my friends, in regard to money I can’t compete… yet 😂 they benefit because they enjoy my company and I benefit because I enjoy theirs. For my comment that concerned you, I was speaking strictly financially. Thank you for the sub, I appreciate your support. Keep me updated with your progress as well! 🤝
I do agree with this, but there’s something to be said for enjoying life while you still are young. If we put too much focus on front loading the work we may be able to enjoy life in our 60s, but we won’t be able to enjoy it the same way we can when we’re young. I don’t find a lot of people who say they wish they worked more when they were younger. I think a true balance is helpful. But you have to have discipline. That’s probably the most important component.
Idk, man, I just don't understand videos like these. I think balance is the only way to achieve a GOOD life. You say we are modern-day slaves, but your solution is to out-slave everybody else for the next 20 years until you earn your right to be free? You say balence will only lead to regret but somthing tells me you have never experienced what its like to have hobbies you are absolutely obsessed with, a community that truly accepts you and people you love and take care of. If you did, you wouldn't trade it for any amount of money, and you certainly wouldn't be making this video. I dont blame you, you are still young. Please go experience life before you draw conclusions and pidginhole yourself into a mindset that prioritises productivity over everything else in life.
Thank you for taking the time to share this with me, I appreciate your perspective. I have had hobbies I obsess over in the past. At my current stage of life & with the goals I want to achieve, self improvement & work is kind of my hobby at the moment. There isn’t much I’d rather do outside of this currently, so I don’t
@@loganwillxUltimately life is about balancing the necessities with the desires. If work is both a necessity and a desire, then you can achieve balance in a way that people working unfulfilling jobs cannot. By continuing to work. Nothing wrong with that, but it's not easy to achieve, especially in the long run.
@@Ttt-n1w I saw a video about this rising in popularity prof talking about how todays youth want work-life balance but by that they mean they want the maximum of both. They want to go 100% at the intenstive high income job and also go 100% at traveling, hobbies etc. He mentioned that this type of work-life balance is almost impossible. Instead, its more attainible to have periods of your life where you focus on your career, your family, your hobbies, etc. Not sure if thats what you mean in your post but his argument resonated with me
This is what im doing but i also only work smart. I minimize effort towards tasks that don't grow or benefit me over time. A great business idea hit me a year ago, and since that moment I've spent 90% of my free time cranking out code. Have written about 50k lines of code at this point and am nearing the finish line. The reason I work so hard is because I didn't ask to get thrust into this universe. Life has a lot of inherent suffering. So if I'm already gonna suffer, it's really not that much harder to grind.
I like this mindset, and it seems like you are the only commenter that understood it’s about minimizing time/effort/attention to things that don’t grow or benefit you that much, not about only working 24/7 without any fun in life at all. It’s about focusing more on work and having better time management so you still can do some fun stuff
That would be very unfortunate indeed, I enjoy every day regardless, find things I’m grateful for, and because I work hard to manage my time I still work long days and do some things I enjoy on the side 🤝
I will never understand people that work 3 to 4 menial jobs just for the extra money, why don’t you take all the effort you’re putting into that and instead learn a high income skill
Usually people do it for a few reasons; fear, laziness, or lack of knowledge about the opportunities out there. But sometimes, it’s cause they have low risk tolerance due to lack of backup savings. It’s a stepping stone on the way to having the ability to work on a higher income skill such as sales
The first few years he did sales door to door, and then he helped facilitate some kind of crypto mining deal with some overseas people and some people here and took a small % of that + his door to door that year. The year he became a millionaire he did marketing and sales for a tax firm with a government tax credit called ERC, and he did very well
I'm the same age as you, I see myself 100% reflected in your still-clear "rambling"
Keep up the good fight 🤝 & keep me updated

Proud of you. You’ve come so far and you’ve helped me grow and learn so much. Keep it up and keep taking care of yourself.
When I was in grad school and working part time, there was no balance. Literally work, study, sleep.
That’s how it is in some chapters, and it pays off
