Great vid. I've got a thousand miles on mine and the chain seems a bit loose. I'll tighten it up tomorrow...looks like the chain is good for around 5-7K before it needs replacement.
I hope you can help me real quick. When the chain is where it is tight and where it is supposed to be at, is it supposed to look really loose? leaning on the kickstand.
you should use the caliper to measure the distance of wheel pin and block the chain ON rear sprocket, with wooden hammer handle when tighten the axle nuts (to keep the wheel from moving forward) sorry for my english
The plate you are using to line up the marks on both sides completely wobbles around loosely while you are lining this up. It’s not any kind of indicator as to the alignment because the plate with the notches in it that you are lining up with the dot is NOT in a fixed position. My last bike, a Yamaha had all this figured out. This is a complete grope in the dark. 😂
so are you saying the marks on the axle blocks and mark on the swingarm aren’t a reliable indicator …hmmm i measured with calipers the length of the adjuster bolts so they were equal length on both sides and then found that the alignment marks were way off…
@ So, I was able to put my wheel back on after I wrote this and it appears to be working fine. . I did find this situation odd though. I’ll re-examine this soon when I need to adjust the chain. 👍
Thanks for the vid! I would love to see a video about spoke adjustment.
I’m about due for my first chain adjustment aswell! Thank you for the solid explanation! Hopefully I don’t fuck this up lmao
I did it exactly the same way, however it was too tight when off the stand. The 50mm should be the slack when it is taking it's own weight.
You have to check the chain and adjust it from the kickstand

Sight along the top of the chain, from the top of the rear sprocket, forward, and make sure the chain is in a nice, straight line.
Hi , we need a SUPERPINION ( BEST front sprocket just like SUPERPINION ) for our CRF300L / THX for forward around
Id think youd measure for the chain guide up?
Thanks, I've always had the cam style washer adjustment bikes, which I prefer GREATLY to this.🫤

?the book does say/top of swing arm?
Dont make sense/ it doesnt ride on the swing arm..?
Took a photo.
Zoomed in.
Dang!
The guide is drawn in and they measure from the actual swing arm.
Ok!
Thanks
How many miles do you have on it?
Around 2000
What size tools for the bolt and nuts please?
24,17,12 and 10
