  • As witnessed in his Netflix film, Quincy Jones almost died after falling into a diabetic coma, resulting from alcohol abuse and a poor diet. Following this near-death experience in 2015, Q’s doctors made it clear that if he wanted to see the next chapter of his life he’d have to quit his habits and stay healthy. To help cut down on calories, Q replaced alcohol with eating sugarless popsicles and lost more than 50 pounds. Now, in conversation with some of today’s top young artists, Q shares his wisdom, advice, and everything in between, in his new series, “Popsicles with Quincy Jones.”

What an honor to have Quincey sit down and spit wisdom like that. When we have a moment with our elders we need to cherish it. I love how humble Nas is he will never forget that conversation or the real gems the camera didn’t catch that was only for his ears. 🥰

Hey quincy this is dink you produced my dad's album Switch. You should have videos about the science it takes in constructing songs as far as..your past songs like where the bridge goes, the hook. How many bars a verse can be before inserting changes formulas u used in making the whole composition or structure of songs. Like the structure of human nature ending the song with the bridge or off the wall ending with verses....song structure. your songs are like e=mc2 in there structucture. Not just the normal intro, verse, hook verse hook change outro ....but very structured. How you come up with all the ideas you used in structuring songs. That would be so cool to share all that information. ...you r the Micheal Jordan of music...the best

Love Quincy's work and Little Nas X seems like a great young spirit but "Old Town Road" doesn't really do it for me .... still as Q said it 'captured the culture's pulse' so good for Little Nas X ... however Q also states that the only time you find success before work is in the dictionary but this seems almost like the perfect example of an exception ... not saying that Nas X didn't put some work into "Old Time Road" but in this case I would say his success stems mainly from a fortunate 'capturing of the culture's pulse' rather than years of hard work learning music theory, melodies , harmony, rhythm and the like.
