Freja K Braiding or putting your hair in a ponytail when it's wet can cause damage sooner because wet hair is more fragile. I went to hair school and do hair for a living so I know what I'm talking about :)
Doesn't really look the same, you get weird looking ends, plus it doesn't work on shorter hair. Heat is fine to use if you're not doing it all the time and your taking care of your hair.

You do realize these lines that says "oil" are really heat safe right? I'm a curly girl that uses a Moroccan oil infused heat protectant spray whenever I straighten my hair
Raisin Bren maybe the brand that you use. But Morocanoil Oil Treatment doesn't content any heat protection. Plus, she doesn't have coarse ans curly hair. So the damage may not show right away, but at one point, she will have mechanical damage
If you use oil before applying heat, it literally fries it and dries it out. It’s like putting your hair in a hot oiled pan - not good. You can still use the oil though, I use anti frizz oil after crimping it and it really smooths things out and makes it look a bit less messy, you know, before you mess it up 😂 it just adds that hydration back in your hair after applying the heat to ot
My natural hair looks like this too and I dyed it orange and it’s the best thing I’ve done. Before, when I didn’t really style it I looked scruffy in a bad way, but now it looks like it’s on purpose and I looove it. Any crazy color on our hair looks amazing.

Maja Stjepanovic when I used this oil I used it on damp hair before blow drying then add little more for a finish but even wit heat protector sprays people don't realise u hav to let it dry first cuz heat and damp hair aren't good either as for oils they absorb quickly and put a protective layer especially for dry hair but always finish with a little after if u got very dry hair and use moisture shampoos and conditioning treatments but for my personal use of oils I use L'Oréal heat protector oil I'll find a link
