A helpful tip from Brooklyn, NYC - home of the pizza, before eating the American style pizza - take a paper towel or napkins/tissue and dab the the pizza to take out some of the grease.

Tim - the answer is yes and no - young people dont generally take out the grease so they might say such things but older people that want to cut down on SOME of the grease do do it and no one really has a problem with it.

Do most Koreans know the ingredients Pizza Hut uses are OK quality but not great quality? Pizza usually tastes better when made from high quality ingredients. Fortunately large cities in the USA have restaurants that make better pizza.

Pizza Hut in korea and other Asian countries are nothing like the ones in America, google it...Pizza Hut is a like a real sit down in korea even tho they still deliver and stuff, but you can get toppings like shrimp and lobster as well as expensive wine at pizza huts there. Brands often rebrand themselves to fit the preferences of other regions or try something new. For example, Pabst Blue Ribbon is awful cheap beer hut in China it's sold in huge glass bottles and it is marketed as a high class, expensive booze. Similarly, KFC in Japan is high end there as well and you can order some very expensive whiskey at most Japanese KFCs.

i agree with @lxve it's different. they add different options ie bulgogi burger at mcdonalds or matcha pudding at starbucks. i had a whopper and the breading itself tasted and felt different as i was eating it. pretty sure there are youtube videos of people traveling and doing this. so if this is korea pizza hut probably not as greasy. also there are other pizza chains. did these guys do a fried chicken ep yet?

They do not have sweet potato pizza here in Canada. Only American/italian kind of pizza. I would like to try Korean style. It looks yummy. 😊🍕

Basically they're arguing about the saltiness of the food. Eliza says the Koreans in the video think the food is salty because the food is actually salty relative to American foods and they're "really sooooooo salty as a fact".
Korean Vaporean replies that Korean Vaporean has never lived in America nor tried any American food, only assuming that the taste of the two must be similar so took it personally when they accused American foods of being too salty.
As a person that lived in vietnam for 15 years then moved to the states I can answer that in the form of sugar instead of salt. I think the body isnt used to that much salt intake since it isn't normal for us to eat load of sugar here. When I first moved to the states, everything to me felt like an overload of sugar. For example when i drank coke for the first time, i drank a quarter of it and got a headache from the sugar. I think its just the culture and how the body isn't used to the sugar.
That's some of the saddest pepperoni pizza I've ever seen... Most Americans wouldn't be excited about it either...

We do eat unhealthy here but in the last decade or so fit and healthy eating has blown up. Outside of eating, genetics plays a huge role in not just food. For people who are overweight to lose that weight it takes a huge amount of dedication to a healthy lifestyle and for a lot of people they have to undergo surgery.

30+ years ago America didn't look as fat as they are today. Just go look at High School yearbooks 1 from the middle of every decade 2015, 2005, 1995 etc until you get over 30 years. Most people were not fat as they are now. People like to blame genetics but it's just lies. Food+lifestyle is what's the problem, not genetics... Once you get to 1970 and under in the year books they start looking the way asian countries look, THIN.

Genetics does play a factor but rather it is all the processed heavily genetically modified organisms in the food we eat that has caused fatdemic in the US

yeah healthy food is expensive and unhealthy food is cheap and nobody cooks now a days when you can get to boxes of pizza for $10 and feed the whole family a meal from McDonald's is pretty cheap
funny it also depends on location. I'm from Louisiana our gas is super cheap but our fresh fruit/ vegetables so expensive. Its almost telling you to eat the sodium injected chicken, potatoes/rice with a can of corn. a can cause a cob of corn is $2.99 non seasonal time.

I'm not mad at all about their opinion on pepperoni pizza. I don't like it either and I agree that there are a lot of obese people. It's not fat-shaming to tell someone being fat isn't good. We're too busy pleasing our tongue and not enough time having self control and caring for our bodies
I am really open to try any food from any place. I usually don't say things about other people from other places or cultures unless I know that it is true (and if I have, please forgive me), but the fact that they says Americans get fat off of pizza and other greasy and oily foods is not entirely true. Some of it has to do with genetics, some are born more chubby than others sometimes. Those with a fast metabolism can go through junk food like its nothing and still be thin. It's not like they want to be born that way, it wasn't a choice they got to make. Some even have to go through surgery.
But if one is obese due to bad eating habits or not working out then that is a different story.

Sure, a lot of people take care of their bodies, but most of my American friends do not know how to eat healthy at all. My friends ate hardly any veggies, mostly meat, fried food, sugary sweets, white bread. I tell them they’re going to get diabetes if they keep eating like that, but nobody seems to care about health in the US. Hell, one of my friends thought pretzels and muffins were “healthy food”, and he took offense to it when I told them they are junk food. This isn’t something Americans should take offensively. Most of us know the food we eat isn't healthy, but the food is so addictive that no one really cares. It is an issue but no one takes it seriously at all. That includes me too though, I'm about to have pizza xp. We've all become very accustomed to eating overly sugary, salty, greasy foods. Everything else tastes bland/ boring to us, so we stick to the same junk foods that we are used to.
The only reason people are born chubby is because their parents were chubby. Literally stop blaming genetics for being too lazy to exercise and cook healthy meals. Americans love to point the figure at everyone and everything but themselves.

I went to a popular "Chicago pizza" restaurant today in Seoul and they 1) did not use a lot of sauce 2) put a thick layer of powdered sugar all over the top. The owner claimed to have learned how to make pizza in Chicago so I asked him what the hell was in front of me. He apologized and said this was what sold best in Seoul.
You guys can keep your dry, sugary abominations and I'll keep my original Chicago pizza. I've seen some huge motherfuckers on Seoul Line 1 nowadays, too, so keep your stereotypes to yourself.
Cortney I keep reading how salty or sweet our food is but just today I tried tteokbokki and I was imagining hot like super spicy and it was SWEET what the!! For the first time I was disappointed in a Korean plate. I seen they are very judge mental of anything is not From their country, like only one didn’t like the Korean pizza but everyone else is like this is the boom. Who adds sweet potato too pizza??? Weren’t they saying our food was too sweet or too salty? And they add powered sugar? Even to the typical sandwich they sell on the streets in Korea they add sugar at the end. Who understands them is only sweet when it comes from other countries.
I miss Chicago style pizza but I also love St.louis style. I have to agree with the video though. New York style which they're eating is way to greasy usually and yes Korean Food is beyond sweet

it is not what americans eat that make them unhealthy, its how much. Eat more than you lose in calories you gain weight, simple as that, no matter what you eat. Plenty of americans eat pizza, mcdonalds, and are thin, has nothing to do with WHAT you eat. If you eat enough seaweed and twigs, you'll gain weight if you put in more calories than you burn off. If all you eat is ice cream, you'll stay skinny if you don't eat a lot of it.

We would definitely say what that one person pointed out, that if there are too many condiments upon a pizza, you're not eating a pizza anymore, you might as well put those on a plate and go. Pizza is the dough, not what's on it. It will always be the margherita (sauce, mozzarella and basle!)

deep dish Chicago style pizza and New York style pizza pie is great. I have to agree about the grease pepperoni that looks like it was drenched in grease. If you cook a pizza for yourself then it can be more healthy and delicious than take away or fast food style. if they want real american food then should try those two types. the kinds they try are more like stereotype designed foods rather than what is normal. for breakfast could have oatmeal or have scrambled eggs with cheese and fried potatoes/mashed potatoes or there are also other cold cereals besides those sugary ones too. We also have casseroles and many other dishes besides hamburgers, fries, pizza, super sugary cereals...again seems you want to stereotype rather than give a wide variety. Also should have them try different kinds of hot sauces...like tobasko sauce...etc..

처음에 피자 끝부분에 빵 밖에 없다가, 나중에 생겼죠. 그덕에 치즈만 들어갔는데도 잘 먹곤 했죠. 피자헛, 도미노피자 이런데서요. 그런데 외국 사는 분들이 한국 피자에 놀라는걸 보면 한국만 그렇게 변한건가봐요.
