As a tip for anyone that keeps blocking instead of dodging, the window to dodge is when Sephiroth's punch is coming AT you. If you try to dodge while he's still winding up, you'll just end up blocking So it's not just about being fast but hitting the right window in the animation
Right Stick Right moves during fury will result in him hitting you if you wait that long though. You have to do it just after full extension. If his fist is on the way, it's already too late.
This is why this minigame is so wrong. Bad reading inputs, too less spots where you can do your move and in 3 hits he gets the limit. This is so wrong.
I actually found it easier to look at his eyes more than his hands. Down on the sticks on both sides is easy because they're uppercuts he does. Right analog stick right, Seph looks at Cloud. Right analog stick up, Seph looks at us. Left analog stick left, we can't see his eyes. Left analog stick up, we see his eyes just over his shoulder Hope this helps someone get their Ribbon/Platinum!
Sorry, what you mean by 'down on the sticks'? I'm finding it VERY hard to distinguish the difference between a left hook and left uppercut, and a right hook and right uppercut respectively. They look so similar! Any help please? *Edit: actually, no sweat. I beat the bugger in the end!*
the is one of the worst mini games ever made, its unfair by design, we are not even playing the same game as the opponent. this is literally shown to us IN THE GAMES LORE to be a brawler game with a real opponent on the other side taking actions, so why the fuck does the AI get to swing at me 57 times where i get to dodge and evade 57 times and hit him once a minute.
@@MATHFJZ this isnt punchout, and thats not at all what punchout is, punchout has openings that you punish, this crap is scripted, you MUST dodge enough attacks to get your single hit in, there are no random openings you can skillfully exploit with good timing, no idea why people defend crap like this, its overwhelmingly disliked for a reason, because its not fun and feels cheap.
Thank you. Your video actually helped with the commentary. The other videos are just telling to use the pause but the hard part is actually figuring out which direction.
I appreciate you saying out loud which way you move the stick during the paused, that helped me tremendously. I also didn't realize holding the stick before you un-pause worked. Thank you for this video. I love the game but HATED this mini-game, hated every part of it, even the easiest level 1 "saucer brawler".
Omg i finally did it. It took about 6 hours spread between a few days. Had to take a break and do some combat to keep from losing my mind. Thank you for the video. I was having a lot of trouble telling the straight jabs from the overhead. But seeing them really helped out
Lucky you. This method hasn’t worked for me. If anything like this is in part 3 I’m not buying it. This platinum grind has made the game the opposite of fun. And the god damned music. Repeating and making my fucking ears bleed. This has me beyond enraged. Gaming shouldn’t be the opposite of fun.
So I just beat Sephiroth, and all the advice I can give you is: Keep at it! This might sound almost impossible to believe, but eventually you WILL learn his tells properly, and with the help of this video, you’re also going to be able to survive all of his rushes with ease (they always have the same pattern, but the one at the very end is unique so watch out for that)
Left stick inputs: Left - Rear arm will be straight pointing north east. Closest eye will be 1/2 visible. Up - Rear arm will be bent pointing upward. Closest eye will be visible. Down - Rear arm will be pointing upward but he'll be bent down and looking at the ground. Right stick inputs: Right - Rear arm will be behind his back and he'll look right at cloud and the camera. Toward the end of the animation he looks down. Up - Rear arm will be visible to the right. He'll be standing up straight looking at the camera. Down - Eyes will be looking at Cloud but he'll be bent down. A few tips. Hold the direction then un-pause while continuing to hold the direction. To avoid him blocking your attacks when he's moving at a normal speed let him get half way through the animation before unpausing. Even when it's time to attack pause briefly to make sure you don't hit the wrong side.
His head moves to the level he will punch, so if his head stays up his punch will be up, if his head goes in the middle it will be a middle punch and if his head goes low it will be a low punch
Here’s exactly how to tell which attacks Sephiroth will use using pause buffering (note: this guide is assuming that you pause at exactly the moment that his punch is fully wound up): Left Up and Right Up: Sephiroth will lean backwards Right Middle: Sephiroth’s chin is cocked to the (player’s) right, relative to the center line of his face Right Down: His chin is cocked to the left, relative to the center line of his face Left Middle: His thick forearm is in a straight line with his bicep Left Down: His thick forearm is bent so that it does not appear to be in a straight line with his bicep Up is easy, since those are the only attacks where he leans back For left stick middle and down, the trick is to watch the bend angle of his punching arm For right stick middle and down, the trick is to watch whether his chin is to the left or right of his nose (from your perspective). It takes a bit of practice to get the pause timing down, but once you do, it should be a pretty straightforward fight.

This is the most unfair thing I've ever seen in a videogame. Edit: got him. Holding the analog stick in the right direction before unpausing works and makes all the difference. This is the kind of thing I don't feel one bit bad about cheesing my way out of.
If it's this hard, then is not a cheese. Also, holding doesn't work for everybody. It worked for me up until Middle Mgr, then I had to push/pull just after pause.
@roymariogaming good man. My weakest mini game is the pirate shooting. I don't dislike it but I struggled to get the tier 2 rewards and not great at shooting games. Everything else has been done except S rank piano for It's Hard to Walk on Two Legs. It's frustrating because I can play it on a real piano 😅
The first time he enrages he does the same pattern every time. The times after he has three different patterns, including the first one, it’s random which one he uses. When you’re close to winning he starts off with the same patterns but mixes up the end.
So I am late to this but something I took notice of, the non attacking arm kinda gives away what it is, maybe because of the pause strat but I took notice of it, with uppercuts the arm is downwards, overhead the arm is upwards, straight swing he keeps his arm neutral. I am guessing the dev's wanted us to use that other arm as our guide but with soo many visual flairs who is taking notice of that shit.
Holding doesn't work for everyone in every fight, because everyone's timing and controller (stick drift, etc) is different. Holding worked for me up until Middle Mgr, but I had to do push/pull just after unpausing to dodge from that point on.

I've already lost my mind, I don't make trophies or achievements in difficult stressful games on an inhumane, sadistic level, it's not worth wasting time on this poorly made mini game, Square Enix doesn't know how to make people have fun, this fight, Sepheroph is practically invincible, almost no loophole is not worth it.

I've never had to do the pause thing until this fight, nothing against it i just wasn't pushed to that point until Sephiroth. That being said i wanted to like this mini game but I can't it's just too dog shit for a boxing simulator. It feels like RNG when you get an opening and do nothing but dodge until the CPU decides to let you hit it. There's not even an actual strategy to it or experimenting with another playstyle even fort condor had that. Not to mention the tells are almost unrecognizable in the later fights. Why does it feel like every mini game they put in *almost every* is just square telling us to f*ck off and they don't respect our time and money lol. This is dogshit lol. Good video tho!
I've been working on this for 4 days. It's really hard to practice, because this is the most unfun and tense activity in the whole game. Two Legs was hard, but at least piano could be fun to practice. This strategy makes the minigame physically possible to beat, but it does not make it easy. Please stop calling strategies that make hard challenges doable "easy." It is still incredibly hard, to the point that we cannot even call this a cheese. If the cheese is still difficult to pull off, then it is not a cheese.

They should’ve made a One Winged Angel 3D battler remix for the Sephiroth fight

Left Middle: His thick forearm is in a straight line with his bicep
Left Down: His thick forearm is bent so that it does not appear to be in a straight line with his bicep
Up is easy, since those are the only attacks where he leans back
For left stick middle and down, the trick is to watch the bend angle of his punching arm

Um dos piores minigames da história dos jogos eletrônicos.
Lol laziest way to beat him.
Only way to beat him..
@@roymariogaming i beat him without the pause, usually he has the same final attacks. His attacks are not as fast as the shinra guy so its a bit easier but just longer. And the ultimate attacks have the same pattern
@@pikkacho no you never, you wouldn’t be watching this video if you did 😂
@@roymariogaming yeah i was looking to see how people beat it and if this is the only way i see people do it. I didnt like it so i did it myself
