@@Solestro for me, the magic stacking build with genji gloves was way faster. It just one shots all the mobs until chapter thirteen. You have to fight bosses the hard way but getting there was super easy.
Yeah there's lots of methods you can do. I did the magic build for certain areas but for some bosses I just killed them with limit breaks lol. I do love how there is so many different ways you can do it 😊@@kieragard
100% in fact it's super annoying how many guides recommend you have it equipped for challenges that you need to complete to get it in the first place...
Very good tips! One tip I should add is if don't have the Gotterdanmerung yet it is also worth getting the ribbon accessory as well via the 3D Sephiroth fight. It not only makes you immune to detrimental status effects but prevents you from being interrupted when casting spells. Perfect for Aerith or even Barret imo
I just happened to see it since I'm in the middle of the Combat Simulator currently, but does that mean there's 2 ribbon accessories in the game, then? One for Sephiroth from the Brawler minigame and one upon completion of the Bonds of Friendship?
Yeah but what do you NEED the manuscripts for? Nothing lol. I completed all the trophies and everything in the game and still don't have the last manuscripts. @@daanduijkers4845
The best way to max material is to do the cat quest in nibleheim and kill the bees. Then don’t kill the queen bee so she summons guard bees over and over. No joke, you get hundreds of ap every few minutes.
Biggest tip for Hard Mode so you don't repeat my mistake: Most manuscripts are locked behind side quests in hard mode- and the very last side quest is restricted until you complete all other side quests. *Do NOT restart your side quest data to farm AP more easily if you're still working on manuscripts. Just reset it once to start working on them and see it through until the end.* I got done with most of them and stopped to farm AP midway on the cat side quest in Nibel and reset my quest data to redo it (it gains thousands of AP every 10-15 minutes and seemed appealing). However, I forgot the last side quest was restricted until all others are shown as completed and was forced to redo EVERY side quest I had just completed a third time just to unlock "Can't Stop Won't Stop" (again) for the final manuscript.
I recommend party level 10 before Gotterdammerung. Most guides for the brutal challenges will ask you for some skills that you can’t unlock without party level 10. Party level 10 is a grind. I personally did chapters 1-12 before finishing the brutal challenges because it’s not that difficult and the manuscripts from those chapters will optimize your build by letting you unlock more skills. One thing I didn’t do and wish I did was spend more time maxing materia. Maxing materia like magic support, swiftcast, magnify will make things easier. The support materia takes the longest to master but if you out chocobo armband and AP and rotate the support materia in the gonganga loop you will max out quick. I also wish I got the genji gear earlier.
@@AslanisJc the path of enemies starting from cliff side storehouse in gonganga. There are a number of RUclips videos with this some with slight differences
I hate that they don’t have the whole just swap material load outs like the OG. It seems really easy just to add this but for some reason they make u manually each single materia swap them.
It’s also annoying that every time you select a materia you have to scroll all the way back down for the next one. It would be could to slot a materia then stay in the same spot to find the next one
Exactly plus in remake you could swap a lot of materia if I remember right and they removed it from the game where you have more characters!? Make it make sense lol@@MK-fm3ln
While all tips are good, the order in this video is bad to do them. 1st get enhanced Expeditionary Medal (you should be able to get it right away if you have done your full easy/normal run anyway) 2nd bring most/all of the materia to max. (It's fast, it's easy, it will make everything else on the list easier) 3rd get your Genji armour. (With leveled materia you have access to most of the broken builds to have an easy time) 4th reset side quest, jump into ch.13 on hard and do them. (You have access to them right away, in ch.12 you cannot do the last one until you beat Rufus) 5th get your Götterdämmerung (you may want to do the VR missions before rulers of the otherworld earlier to level the materia of those)
I agree with most of that apart from jump into chapter 13 to do side quests. I did everything in the game without the need for the hard mode manuscripts. They aren't needed for any completion and imo they don't help at all. Also the order I put isn't the order you should do it in. It's just tips lol.
Rufus is what I fear the most when I think about playing hard mode.... I hated him already in remake (where I also never played hard mode) and was already annoyed in normal when he showed up....
Thank you for the tips! This would be my last trophy if it wasn't for the game breaking G Bike bug in "can't stop won't stop" that prevents me from completing all quests :( so frustrating
I wish for people that suck at mini-games (raises hand) they gave you another way to obtain those high reward items eg. Dark Matter by placing them in stores and make them super expensive, I'm literally drowning in Gil. If they put them in the Gold Saucer shops you could just farm coins by repeating arena fights.
for the start of materia leveling, you know when you have alot, there is a loop in gongaga that you use. 75 ap per loop (the ap value is from all dead enemies) you save and reload to respawn the enemies. dont have the game open or i would write the locaiton name. its south tho if that helps.
Do you think you would consider making a guide for the final chapter? The back to back boss gauntlets are brutal and i keep dying to sephiroth. I'm sure others would benefit from a video if your looking for more ff7 rebirth content to pump out.
Of course yeah. I could do a video like that tomorrow possible. I know I struggled on Sephiroth at the end too but eventually figured it out. So I could share it 😁
For sure that final gauntle is hell howver if you manage to get to sephiroth he is a victory lap. Equip aerith with first strike and ATB recharge IF YOU CAN it helps because if you try to build ATB with her SEPHIROTH INMEDIATLY TAGETS HER IS ANNOYING (Well duh he is supposed to kill her) if you have their Synergy ability CHARGE blade something That synergy skill can help you bully sephiroth...I didn't had it so I had an awful time. No to mention this fight CAN GET BUGGED, as in in when you are fighting seph with the others before the final round with one winged angel sephiroth he can get bugged and instead of the floor breaking and he falling down so u party can reach his face, it won't so you don't have any way to target it, do no damage and he just OCTALASH YOU over and over until you run out of MP. When Sephiroth is getting ready To Octaslah in the final phase and you have both cloud and aerith alive, target HIS wing and do the Charge synergy attack, connect it and his wing will break pressure him and then you go ham on it, Finally if you lower his HP enough he'll do his desperation attack, that's so easy to deal with just hit and dogdge and you are done.
I would say kit out every character with some kind of elemental magic. You need it for Sephiroth Reborn and the final boss. Against Reborn, it’s easy to tell what you need to use because his wings will change color and element. For Sephiroth Reborn, any time you can attack something else (Masamune or Wing), use magic! Magic does way more damage to them than physical attacks. If you get its HP all the way down, I’m pretty Sephiroth gets pressured. Those are my main tips.
Gotterdammerung?! To start hard mode?! I mean it will help but it’s also locked behind arguably the hardest challenge in the game. And so far up to chapter 10 it hasn’t been that hard. I’m waiting a bit to get it but I’d like to have it for the last few chapters. Also waiting on some materia to finish leveling naturally while I progress. I grinded some already but that last 18k for magic focus and swiftcast is a beast. Great advice but I’d add to also make a regular expeditionary medal in case you go with the planets protection strat for a fight. Also make some extra karmic cowls just in case you you need instant death protection for a whole team. Karmic cowl>safety bit
Well like I said I'm a completionist did everything before moving onto hard mode. The gottadamerung makes hard mode trivial I sped through it in like 6 hours, most small fights are over in a second with it and coupling it with the enhanced expeditionary medal for some later fights makes them even easier too. There can still be some tough fights in hard mode. Or more annoying anyways. Oh yeah forgot about the cowls they are defo a good addition 😁
Yuffie Brumal/ATB ward strat trivializes the final brutal challenge in all honesty. The only real challenge with that vr mission is avoiding shadowy chains, though you can easily brute force it by simple casting barrier.
I didn’t know you could craft multiple expeditionary medals (I did max my crafting). Can you elaborate on instant death because a specific brutal challenge instant death’d my enhance karmic cowler. I guess tonberry king has an ability that goes right through it, but an explanation on the assess screen would have been appreciated. One of the many L’s this game has
@@nobodyscomment929 yea that’s gonna be my strat whenever I try it. I am bad though so I’m sure it’s gonna be tough. I wasn’t saying getting gottadamerung was too hard just that it’s likely harder than the story on hard mode so it’s funny to suggest getting it to make it easier. If you can get it you won’t have many problems in hard mode
@@xRoycex yea I’m not sure. When I fought the tonberry king recently I used them and I noticed the purple orb move he does that usually kills you just did like 1.5k damage. Cloud did get killed by his honed blade move but I also saw someone tank the stab move from a small one. It could be the damage it does was just so high it killed him instead of a one shot
Chapter 14 hard left, have a save afterwhite ghosts fight. Lifeclinger knocking me into its red laser after blizzaga....this is block timing but it is frenetic and dont play tired (big tip). i can get better builds so glad I saved at the place I did.
Mastering all my materia and having the enhanced expedionary medal broke hard mode for me. I still ran into some annoying boss fights here and there, but it was nowhere near as hard as if i wasn't prepared.
@babyfinesse_ I have done both, but for me personally, it's easier just to have the medal on Cloud, so he starts with Limit Break 3, and then I will block attacks to raise the limit. Also, putting limit booster on a party member helps so you can use Limit Siphon. Having Barrett in the party is key because he can use the iron defense synergy with another party member to block attacks and raise the limit meter. Once it fills up I use limit Siphon and Cloud goes to town on these fools with Finishing Touch. 😎
I’m still working on getting those relics. I’ve only got one of them the first one. In Fort Condor game. And I’m working on cards trying to all the players i’ve learned that with remake best to give all your characters, identical magic them combining stuff like fire and ice really hopes just need more of those dual material
Sadly, I wish I could do all of the sidequests. However, the most recent patch bugged the Can't Stop Won't Stop quest in Chapter 13, to where you'll never get the Ultimate Party Animal's reward for beating his high score in G-Bike.

@@Solestro sorry you are correct, I misunderstood. I thought you were saying they didn't drop any items again. I didn't realize they were different items. My apologies
For the side quest, mana is no problem, because the party not locked to main quest area, which mean you can go to any chocobo rest, use the item and fully recover HP & MP , in case you want to suffer through hard mode, dont use swiftcast :D
I need to redo 2 quests from Junon as I didn’t get the best outcome from the quests. Am I best doing this on normal mode? Do I have to finish the chapter to retain it? Sounds like I need to repeat certain things for manuscripts?
Retaining or resetting quest completion has no effect on main quest stuff. It only resets fully optional side quests, the ones you pick up from notice boards. The example you used, gathering greens for Billy in the dust bowl; that stuff stays completed no matter what. I would know, I reset the quests so I could just do them as I went. It's actually kind of interesting that there's some stuff that you can actually just never redo, like the greens stuff, and the grasslands protorelic quests.
@@seanowens1073no it’s just the ones with the manuscript logo next to them. Also you don’t have to fully complete them just get to where you get the manuscript. Usually after a mini boss. And with the final side quest you will have to redo the others that open in 12 to get it but not every quest
@@meximous2259 pretty sure you need to complete them all to trigger the ultimate party animal quest. I was told this on stream the other day. Because it won't trigger if they are only half done for the manuscript

Also chapter select it says it keeps completion status which made me think it would let you just jump around. I’m lucky though because I never did can’t stop won’t stop so if I go into chapter 13 with restored quests in hard mode it’s at the notice board. I'm still trying to solve the ultimate mystery why one Aerith's Weapon has an ability with Limit Damage 10%. Last I checked non of her Limit Break does any fucking damage.
Wait does she actually have a weapon ability like that? I never noticed lol. Maybe it gives it to others? Even though I'm pretty sure the weapon abilities don't do that lol

That happen to me with the materia... Cait sith didn't had none. 😂 Question how many in total elemental and magnify materia do you get. I have this build with magnify and magic focus, that os fun
Yeah I think about 3 or 4 of my characters didn't have materia at the end lol. Cause I kept the same build on 3 characters. You get 3 elemental and 2 magic focus materia in total. That's all you get.
I ended up deciding to go through and do hard mode before finishing the combat sims (I did the first three, got stalled on the fourth and got frustrated and decided to do hard mode instead), I've got to chapter 11 now, with the only real issues being Dyne and Gi Nattak so far. Definitely not looking forward to the next couple of chapters, though. I may end up going back to the combat sims if I hit a brick wall, but hopefully I'll make it to the end and be able to tackle the last few brutal and legendary sims with maxed weapon levels and folios after finishing hard mode.
@@takanuva456 yeah, only a handful of bosses and a couple of weirdly difficult encounters (specifically in the solo Cait Sith section) were a little tough and required a few tries, but the most annoying part of hard mode was just dealing with the unavailable cutscenes _during_ the fights if I had to retry instead of just getting me back to the action. It felt similar to Remake in terms of difficulty increase from normal to hard, if not a bit less because of the Chocobo benches in a bunch of the chapters, and things like the boxcrusher accessory and stagger recovery/Aerith being able to steal mp from enemies. Plus the fast travel letting you skip most of the flights in half the chapters really helps out. Now I'm just getting my last few Materia mastered before trying a few legendary solo missions to see if I can get some max weapon levels before finishing up the brutals. I found a decent Aerith guide using Genji gloves instead of gotter, so at least I can try her, then I'll look for some with some of the other characters I would want to use in the brutal challenges and see if I can do them at least. Might leave Cloud until after, though, since I'd need to do all of them and one of the two-person ones to get his last manuscript anyway.
@@R0D3R1CKV10L3NC3 Yeah, sepheroth, gi nattak, and Scarlett were the main walls for me. The last two more likely just because my tifa and red mechanics aren’t the best and they’re so critical to those fights. I will say between the sims and hard mode, I feel like my gameplay and game knowledge have really tightened up. A lot of these fights really require strategizing beforehand to win. I didn’t play remakes hard mode, but this is one of the best hard modes I’ve played. Completely with you on the cutscenes though. Sometimes it’s nice and quick, but when it’s not it’s super annoying. The final sepheroth fight is like this and probably the hardest boss fight in the story I think everyone finds they’re own play style and what fits, but something to consider is stacking blue materia on elemental magic. Quick cast, mp drain, and hp drain on cloud alongside situational aerith wards have been my best friends through hard mode
@@takanuva456 yeah, when I found the "Genji gloves + stacking blue Materia and fire" method for dealing with Dyne it really changed my way of looking at the "gimmicky" boss fights with less than a full party. Gi Nattak sucked, but was more just because once one goes down it's almost a losing battle of constantly trying to get back on your feet. But once you get to the final phase it wasn't too bad, honestly, as long as you saved your limits and summon for that point. I still had karmic cowls on both characters, though. Scarlett actually wasn't too bad for me, because I had already gotten so used to Yuffie and just had Tifa with auto-unique on and switched to her on stagger. Luckily Rufus wasn't nearly as bad for me on hard because the level 3 limit with bravery is a guaranteed kill when used at the start of phase 2, so it's basically just a one phase fight. I was dreading that one, honestly. The Turks were worse than him, in my opinion.
You go back to do them after hard mode if you want them. You don't need them for any trophy and I completed all the VR missions and hard mode without any of the hard mode manuscripts. Apart from the ones that you get for doing the hard mode area monster like.jabberwock etc.
@Solestro o okay I just chose to do it all in one go but then again I'm still on chapter 13 maximum materia grinding but I am on hard and all side quest stuff was finished by the time I had finished ripping my eyes out fighting Rufus

Gotterdammerung doesn’t make hard mode easier, it makes hard mode (bosses) free First if you have Aerith in your party, you can just loop Limits forever. If you don’t have Aerith, you can build a tank/heal engine to survive because the Limit constantly recharges, and while you are doing that use synergy to build your limit level. The only remotely hard fights with gotterdamerung are Dyne, and Cait Sith vs Yin and Yang, cause you’re alone, and Dyne and Yin both hit like trucks, with your limited MP pool you may die, especially if you buff defense as well. And Zack vs Sephiroth, cause Zack sucks, and it’s vs Sephiroth. Even the Cloud solo battle against Rufus is easy as long as you have a limit ready for Dark Nation when he is called.

Use them in conjunction with each other. Like i showed, the gotterdamerung and the expeditionary medal feed off each other essentially. The gloves are for powerhouse builds to break damage limit and the medal is for sucking limit with Aerith and giving it to others lol.
The problem to get the Genji gears are the damn level 16 which requires u to craft everything from the game, and to craft everything that means we have to get a lot of unwanted stuff including the damn DARK MATTER crap which also makes u to win rank A game on most of the stupid mini games... If you are good enough to get the gotterdamerung, then you are good enough to finish hard mode without. Obtaining the gotterdamerung is literally harder than hard mode
Well pause the game when they attack on 3D Fighter. For Aerith's CC you have to use her physical attacks on the ones that are running away from her. Also put on Hermes Shoes and increase her damage output
You don't really need to farm to 70 I got there naturally by just doing the content before going into hard mode. You will need to do rulers to get the gottadamerung, but yeah I did all the VR missions etc before hard mode.

no offence, but those are pretty bad tips. you are basically telling us to do hard mode and the most difficult things before even doing hardmode properly. those are not tips at all.
I’ve been stuck on Cloud Aerith vs Seph in normal, i get him down to like 25% hp then he blocks my screen with a vortex so I can’t see anything and unleashes a DBZ Raditz Double Sunday attack and when he finally stops his onslaught he quickly follows up with a combo that completely kills me
LOL this took me OUT when it happened to me, so annoying. Basically you have to kill him asap no rocky as soon as he goes into that setting; it helped me to save synergy ability and potentially limit break if you can get it for that specific portion. If you “unstagger him” (white bar), he automatically kills both party members. Hope this explained it better. Also, getting hit by the black stuff also pretty fatal.
I never survived his Final Flash Kamekameha 360 no look spin, however, focused thrust and ice materia helps increase stagger so try to break the anime rules and stagger him before he’s done with his anime speech!

Very good information about hard mode. I'm currently doing a hard mode run and it's very frustrating at times but this video helps.
Thanks dude. Yeah hard mode is fairly straight forward in this game but it's nice knowing some things before hand for an easier time.
Just reset it once to start working on them and see it through until the end.*
I got done with most of them and stopped to farm AP midway on the cat side quest in Nibel and reset my quest data to redo it (it gains thousands of AP every 10-15 minutes and seemed appealing). However, I forgot the last side quest was restricted until all others are shown as completed and was forced to redo EVERY side quest I had just completed a third time just to unlock "Can't Stop Won't Stop" (again) for the final manuscript.
Step 1 to getting through hard mode:
-make the equipment that you can only obtain by getting materials from mid-to-late hard mode chapters 😂
You know there's a thing called chapter select right? Lmao
Of course, I just always find it funny when guides seem oxymoronic in the steps you have to take

I hate that they don’t have the whole just swap material load outs like the OG. It seems really easy just to add this but for some reason they make u manually each single materia swap them.
Yup the materia swapping was really annoying me by the end.
@@Solestro I think they were so focused on the new content that this stuff was an oversight, I hope it gets fixed in a future update
You actually can, all you have to do is hit the touchpad after selecting materia and equipment
While all tips are good, the order in this video is bad to do them.
1st get enhanced Expeditionary Medal (you should be able to get it right away if you have done your full easy/normal run anyway)
2nd bring most/all of the materia to max. (It's fast, it's easy, it will make everything else on the list easier)
3rd get your Genji armour. (With leveled materia you have access to most of the broken builds to have an easy time)
4th reset side quest, jump into ch.13 on hard and do them. (You have access to them right away, in ch.12 you cannot do the last one until you beat Rufus)
5th get your Götterdämmerung (you may want to do the VR missions before rulers of the otherworld earlier to level the materia of those)
I agree with most of that apart from jump into chapter 13 to do side quests.

75 ap per loop (the ap value is from all dead enemies)

Another tips: you can actually restore hp and mp using cushion in Hard mode. Also use a non party member to restore if needed to save mp in your team.
If you plan on running hard I would suggest resetting quests to collect all the manuscripts to fill out the party's folios.
For some quests you get different manuscripts for first and hard.
So I could share it 😁
Sephiroth tip: barrier for octoslash. Precision block for immunity.
@@raulrojas9253that's good advice. I haven't fought him in story - only vr mission. So my advice is probably only great for the vr sephiroth
@@xRoycex yea I’m not sure. When I fought the tonberry king recently I used them and I noticed the purple orb move he does that usually kills you just did like 1.5k damage.
Would you use aerith limit break loop method or just in general for cloud?
@babyfinesse_ I have done both, but for me personally, it's easier just to have the medal on Cloud, so he starts with Limit Break 3, and then I will block attacks to raise the limit. Also, putting limit booster on a party member helps so you can use Limit Siphon. Having Barrett in the party is key because he can use the iron defense synergy with another party member to block attacks and raise the limit meter. Once it fills up I use limit Siphon and Cloud goes to town on these fools with Finishing Touch. 😎

You have to redo all the Side quests to get all the manuscripts for level 9 weapons
@@seanowens1073no it’s just the ones with the manuscript logo next to them. Also you don’t have to fully complete them just get to where you get the manuscript. Usually after a mini boss. And with the final side quest you will have to redo the others that open in 12 to get it but not every quest

Hard mode is easy compared to some of those last combat sims. The final group one and the solo ones are the only thing holding me back from the plat
The final sepheroth fight is like this and probably the hardest boss fight in the story
I think everyone finds they’re own play style and what fits, but something to consider is stacking blue materia on elemental magic.
What about getting all your manuscripts by doing all the Side quests on hard?
You go back to do them after hard mode if you want them. You don't need them for any trophy and I completed all the VR missions and hard mode without any of the hard mode manuscripts. Apart from the ones that you get for doing the hard mode area monster like.jabberwock etc.
@Solestro o okay I just chose to do it all in one go but then again I'm still on chapter 13 maximum materia grinding but I am on hard and all side quest stuff was finished by the time I had finished ripping my eyes out fighting Rufus

Gotterdammerung doesn’t make hard mode easier, it makes hard mode (bosses) free
First if you have Aerith in your party, you can just loop Limits forever.
If you don’t have Aerith, you can build a tank/heal engine to survive because the Limit constantly recharges, and while you are doing that use synergy to build your limit level. For the hard mode creatures you mean? Nope just kill them and then save and you can just chapter select out if you want.

@@samsthemank yeah it's fairly easy to run it through again when you skip the cutscenes and all the other content lol. Hmmm that's actually kinda a cool idea might look into it.
Get goterdemurg is a hell trial
Get the best gear. Level up you materia. Skip skippable things
6 hours? I’m going on a week and counting.
I found Gongaga with magnify quake to be better, faster and since this is PS5 only the load times are 0...or a second or two.
U could use Blizzaga but if one enemie moves you have to fight it and that's annoying, with Quake you don't have to
Aerith is the best for this job with ATB charge first strike and Genji glove and make sure to have her magic stat as high and possible.
magnify firaga can help too, yeah sometimes one lives but still.
The only tip you need is mine.
Sorry wrong text, the guy has like 5 tips and I only 1 tip 😢
That platinum is starting to get boring, all that's missing is chapter 13 14 hard and the final quest bugged
Aww dude. I hate that it's bugged for so many people. I hope it gets fixed soon.
@@Solestro Will be fixed they've already talked about it
@@SKiLedZ. Yeah I saw their announcement but didn't say when. Hopefully it's sooner than later.
@@Solestro now it is!
@@WMNova_XVI I saw! Thankfully people can now get the platinum who were stuck! So stupid that it broke it in the first.place but least it's fixed.
So close to the platinum
Oooo what's left for you to get?
@@Solestro 10 Chadley fights then I have beyond platinum. Play Log ✅
@@danwillburn not too far off then 😁
@@Solestro The Ultra boss fight is so tasking
Tips for hard mode. Get a bunch of hard mode items 😂
I cannot beat that white puppy (terror wolf) I Cannot stand them
"To do hard mode first you need to finish ultra hard mode first" terrible advice with the gotterdammerung
If you think that's "ultra hard mode" you need to get better at the game lol. The gotterdamerung is easy to get.
You sound like cait sith haha
I am never starting hard mode ever
no offence, but those are pretty bad tips.
you are basically telling us to do hard mode and the most difficult things before even doing hardmode properly. those are not tips at all.
This hard mode is bad
REALLY bad
I found a surprise invincible fight in Final fantasy 7 rebirth when you first enter the Temple of ancients video is on my page
Number 1: Don't waste your time
I’ve been stuck on Cloud Aerith vs Seph in normal, i get him down to like 25% hp then he blocks my screen with a vortex so I can’t see anything and unleashes a DBZ Raditz Double Sunday attack and when he finally stops his onslaught he quickly follows up with a combo that completely kills me
LOL this took me OUT when it happened to me, so annoying.
@@xRoycex will planets protection save you?
@@iLoveLucy420 no idea I used that limit like once, and that was on the remake haha sorry
@@xRoycex all good
I never survived his Final Flash Kamekameha 360 no look spin, however, focused thrust and ice materia helps increase stagger so try to break the anime rules and stagger him before he’s done with his anime speech!
Why doesn't Aeriths strategy not work near the end of the game? 😃 First timer here! Ch. 3 is awesome so far!!
