My wife and I were fortunate to have witnessed Witold Lutoslawski conduct the premiere of this work in LA. We were also in the Founders Circle and standing very close to the maestro before the performance. Many years ago while in grad school I became a big fan and analyzed several of his works.

I think I know too little about Lutoslawski and his music, but I appreciate this music, and l admire this fantastic orchestras interpretation of their own composers work. Thank you so much and greetings from Sweden!

Wydawało mi się, że po takich Mistrzach jak P. Wit czy P. Kasprzyk problemem będzie znalezienie godnego następcy. A tu niespodzianka ! P. Boreyko jest wspaniały ! Serdecznie pozdrawiam. K D.

Wonderful, it is a great symphony with a musical language that I have not heard in in any composer before, neither Wagner nor Richard Strauss, nor Mahler, not Shostakovich, nor Sibelius nor Stravinsky, this composer is considered one of the greatest polish composer of the XX century , the orchestral forces that he uses are so great and each section and solo violin of the orchestra have an important role, even the clusters and the percussion, Thanks for keeping updated with such a beautiful concerts. Also this symphony would sound very well as a sound track of a contemporary film. BRAVO!

When comparing Lutoslawski to Stravinsky they both have a thousand ideas being expressed in a short amount of time but Lutoslawski bridges those ideas together with transitions and musical familiarity better than Stravinsky does. And if you don’t agree I’ll meet you in the parking lot 😂
