      Please make sure that the Bluetooth Radio is turned on on your piano first, I'd suggest checking that. It's Function 15 I think, and make sure it's on, and also make sure that no other device has auto-connected to it by accident. Hope that helps!

    For those with an FP-10. Pressing the function key and the fifth last black key counting from the right end (ie the rightmost C sharp) will enable Bluetooth.
    My Bluetooth worked out of the box but then suddenly stopped. This trick fixed it. I must have unwittingly disabled it!

    I have been looking for info on the Roland Go:Piano. It has the midi over Bluetooth feature and you are the first to actually clarify that this is a two way connection. Thank you.
    What still isn't clear is if this is locked into Roland software. Can I use Bluetooth midi with a daw? Hell can I use midi over USB without Roland software?
    Audio over Bluetooth to the piano is cute. It would have been much more useful to send audio the other way: for recording, headphones, streaming an audio signal... If I have understood correctly this is not available.

      since a couple of persons seems to have the same doubt, I can answer (at least for the Roland FP-10) to that now since I've bought one and the answer is no. And in general latency seems to be a problem for bluetooth, which is absolutely fine for many things but not for playing with wireless headphones (I've seen there are some low latency bluetooth devices but I don't know about that, altough someone said to me that still the latency is not low enough to play an instrument)

    • @MerriamPianos
      @MerriamPianos  2 года назад +2

      Hi Jeff! The issue with Bluetooth headphones is that there is latency between the playing a note/key and hearing it played back. While the latency does not have any impact on listening to music, it is very problematic when playing piano as it is important to receive immediate feedback sonically when you're playing and pressing keys. With that said, virtually all digital pianos will have wired headphone jacks for you to be able to play silently at night. :)

    Is it possible to have midi and audio over Bluetooth simultaneously? Use case: connect to e.g. GarageBand, choose an instrument like „heavy metal organ“, play it using midi over bluetooth and have the synthesized audio played back on the DP-internal speakers? The Yamaha p125 can do this without lag. This way you have a ton of synthesizing apps available for live play, you can manipulate these apps interactively (kick in the rotating speakers), have in teaching apps the instructors voice and the instrument at the same time, etc. pp. For P125 I can confirm this works with usb, has anybody tried out this with Roland DPs?

I went through all 40 functions and there is no "Bluetooth Turn/ MIDI" except for Function 1 which says "Bluetooth" (not "Bluetooth MIDI"). I try to connect to my iPad Roland Piano Partner 2. @@MerriamPianos ... Thank you for your quick response, Brent! It looks like the Roland Piano Partner 2 (both IOS and Android versions) does not support FP90X. In some fine prints (I forgot where) Roland directed me to install the "Roland Piano App". I found the "Roland Piano App (version 1.1.0 (B069)" in both Apple App Store as well as the Android Play Store. I installed the "Roland Piano App" and I am able to connect to my Roland FP90X without trouble. Again, I appreciate your reply.

    • @MerriamPianos

      Thanks for the question! This is not possible. Bluetooth headphones and earbuds are not compatible with digital pianos. The issue is that there is a latency between when a note is played and when the signal transmits. For this reason, digital pianos do not support them. You will have to use a wired connection.

    • @EAGauss
      @EAGauss 2 года назад +1

      @@Nikola16789 I've just received my Ugreen 40761 Bluetooth transmitter. I connected it to a 3.5mm audio jack of my FP-30X from one side and to a USB port from the other. It was a bit tricky to connect my Sennheiser BT 350 Bluetooth headphones to the transmitter. If you face difficulty, just hold a transmitter button for 10 seconds to reset it and then press it twice to enter pairing mode. Then you have to enable the headphones and they should be connected automatically (check that your headphones are not connected to another device and enable the pairing mode on them if needed, and yeah - don't forget to put the volume up on both piano and headphones).
      So, if you connect just one piece of headphones to the transmitter, it transmits music without latency at all (I press the key and hear the sound as if it comes out of the piano speakers). However! If you connect two headphones to the same transmitter at once (it supports the option), you will have about a half second delay, which is frustrating.
      Another thing is during the first 15-30 seconds after connecting, you may hear some sound glitches but they disappear shortly and never come back.
      To sum up, as long as you have a Bluetooth 5.0 headphones with aptX Low Latency codec support, you can connect them to your FP-30X piano and play without any delay 👍

    • @EAGauss
      @EAGauss 2 года назад

      I've described the initial connection process but the next time you have just to enable your headphones and click the transmitter button once to reconnect them.

      @@Nikola16789 I've been choosing between Kawai ES110, Yamaha P125 and Roland FP30X since they are in the same, below $1000 price range. Roland is more interesting in terms of keyboard action, that is closer to a real piano and further from synthesizers. It also has more recent features, like two USB ports and Bluetooth, that I'm using. I haven't considered the models that are more expensive, because I'm a beginner and that's enough for me so far. Regarding the two models you mentioned, they both look great at a first glance. I bet, you would not be disappointed with any of them 🙂

    How to share the recorded audio as mp3

    • @MerriamPianos
      @MerriamPianos  Год назад

      Hi! Brent from Merriam Music here! Are you referring to the playing that you record internally within the unit? If that is the case and you are trying to share the recording via Bluetooth, this is not possible. Bluetooth audio allows you to play music from a device through the onboard speaker system of your digital piano. However, you can share recorded songs/playing from your piano as audio (and in mp3 form) by using either the headphone outputs or, if your piano has them, dedicated audio line outs. From here, you would have to run that connection into an audio interface/device that has a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). Within that software, you would be able to record the audio and export/bounce it as an MP3 file. Thanks and all the best!
