Kimmich is not a all-rounded juggernaut like Bastian Schweinsteiger. Unlike Schweny, he is very good, but to amplify his strengths, his team needs a lot of support to cover him. That's what we call "luxury player". Bastian doesn't need the team to sacrifice to cover him, this is an underrated opinion: Bastian is the only German defensive midfielder able to bear the burden of a single pivot. Kimmich sucks at it, for bad luck that he's only 177 centimeters in height. While their game senses are very sharp, but Bastian is very strong, very jacked and tall enough to handle the extreme physical contact to stop a quick counter.

Kimmich ate Messi to lunch, it was quiet impressive to watch. He is among the best 6ers in professional football right now. He somehow reminds me of Lahm, even though they play different positions.
Thinking about it, Germany seems to be quality in producing CDMs with Khedira, Kroos, Kimmich just to name a few. If they would just start to create some strikers again their national team would be right back at the top.

It's absolutely suicidal. Everyone knows that if you are playing to not lose, you will get hurt real badly. If Galtier really was trying to "protect the game" and hold the scoreline at 0-0 until Mbappe got on, then he is not a top level coach because he essentially does not know of a way to beat Bayern without Mbappe, even though he has Messi and Neymar in the team. It's a disgrace.

When Mbappé comes in and Ney drops to midfield he becomes efficient as always. I don't understand why Galtier use him properly. Also Mendes contribution and his pace was fascinating. You should talk about the prelude to the match as it plays a huge part in the tactics aswell. I would like to add that 4-4-2 was expected since Messi and Mbappé suffered injury.
Knowing that Bayern is all about aggressiveness and relentless attacks, PSG just had to defend long enough for Mbappé to be substituted and make the difference, because He literally is a difference maker.
Watching it with a friend, He told me that desipite the injury Mbappe suffered, He would come on in the 60th minute to bypass Bayerns highline. That was a little too late as Nagelsmann made his own substitute with Davis for Cancelo. It would take mere 8 minutes for Bayern to get a goal in the second half thanks to this change. Mbappé then came on right before the 60th minute. That is almost too little too late, but Mbappé did shift the momentum for PSG (scored two offside goals)
Nagelsmann might even have forseen PSG’s tight defensive formation and leaving the flanks empty as He opted for a 3-4-3 formation, which they haven’t used previoulsy.
Bayern are dangerous no matter where. PSG ironically opted to close the space in the center, forgetting that all goals PSG conceeded against Bayern from previous games was from crosses.
Mbappé was the plan for PSG, But two offside goals dosen’t win you anything.

Galtier got it wrong, but the most important problem is the lack of depth in the squad, when a young player like zaire-Emery started this type of match, it means you failed in your management of recruits. Playing also the 4-4-2 and a narrow 4--3-1-2 was not good, as Bayern dominates from the wings. Therefore Davies and Pavard who is not fast player, get enough time and no pressure when in possession. If you only have one player who attack the space ( Mbappe) then it is a problem. Ekitike, Neymar, Messi, even Soler are "ball players''. It is not over yet, no more away goals rule, but now they need to score 2 without conceding. That goalkeeper also is not reassuring, always conceding easy goals.( Navas was better). I gave the 30% of chance of passing even with Mbappe fit, because their defense will probably concede again in Germany.

do you have a video about the second leg match between Man City and PSG at 21/22 UCL group stage? I think many people will understand this video better if you also include that video.
In my senses, i can feel 2 key points:
    1. Kimmich as single pivot - the most risky decision ever. I will not be so surprised if Bayern falls early if this future happens: somehow PSG were able to mimic Villareal, Kimmich would be screwed up because he is an awful single pivot, you cannot just leave a dwarf in a vast valley.
    2. PSG dead lock 4-4-0, with the frontline always filled with luxury players in Messi, Mbappe, Neymar literally has zero defensive contribution. This is their intention, and i think they should feel lucky not meeting Man City again. De Ligt, Upamecano, Pavard, Kimmich had to carry these guys with the ball simply because their potential danger with the ball is very low, Upamecano's acceptable. Imagine one of the trio were someone like Matip, Alaba, Laporte, Dias. Kimmich is excellent at longballs, but not too sharp at going low with piercing passes from deep. Matip's penetrating passes perfection...i'm pretty confused about the reason Bayern hadn't snatched him earlier

@@lexkanyima2195 PSG has only one problem when Poch came, midfield. PSG's midfielders are not so tempered with the ball at their feet, only once Paredes and now only Verratti. The others, i don't to be called racist cuz my skin tone is caramel, they don't do anything close to "good" level in any aspect. PSG didn't do any appropriate transfer deals to solve this problem. But in his final time he was "given" Messi, the black hole that costs Poch his seat. PSG frontline already has 2 luxury players in Neymar and Mbappe, luxury means they are dismissed of denfensive duty and team build-up, now you add Messi, a GOAT-tier player obviously don't come to a big club to be benched, but Messi is also a luxury player. With only 7 players in defense and build-up, what problems do you think will occur?

Bayern's high-press is quite impressive, but we have to consider that PSG build-up very poorly when only Verratti can dictate the play. I don't think in the bigger picture, Mbappe wouldn't do anything so significant even if he started right from the start, unless the coach bench Messi.
