How to Paint Motorcycle Fairings pt.2 | Prep Sanding | Ride Rehab ep. 15
Now that we have the fairings washed and degreased, it's time to move on to Prep Sanding. This proceedure will smooth over the surface to remove any large scratches or blemishes that would otherwise show in our finished product if left untouched. The other purpose of this, is to give the paint a semi-rough surface to bond to for proper adhesion. Be sure to subscribe so you don't miss out on part 3, where we go over the steps for spraying the adhesion promoters, base coat, how to remove any defects or dust from the color, and apply the final clear coat! This tutorial series will teach you how to paint a motorcycle with spray cans, using SprayMax 2k paint and clear coat at home!

This is a really good video It's really informative and I don't blame you for missing any kind of little step but out of you or what did I do know that would help me if I didn't know it. Would be to explain how to send out those Nicks and chips. Like when you're standing oh, you don't send the Nick itself. The point is to stay away from the lowest spot of that Nick. And 2 fan down the high area around it to blend it back in. You brush over it by saying when you stand around it. And I caught that. But I know better. The person that doesn't feel good that sandpaper and start sending ride the middle that sucker I'd bet. I say that because that's exactly what I was doing for many years and couldn't figure out why the Knick wasn't getting any better meanwhile I'm losing a ton of material. Suggest you abbreviate that one more time, send everything except the Nick sand around the edge of the neck do not touch the middle of it. Blend in the area surrounding it by taking it down to the same level of the day unless you're using Bondo to fill it chubby. Not trying to tell you anything that mister video maker. I'm watching this video for a reason LOL. And the guy I used to work for it used to say all the time oh, it doesn't matter how good you are oh, everybody knows something that will help. Cheer thanks for the informative video man otherwise it's very helpful

Hi! If I’m using brand new unpainted fairings should I still use degreaser as a step before sanding? Thanks!

Great vid! Quick question, I have some brand new unpainted motorcycle plastics. Do I need to sand these down before painting?

I'm painting my fairings rn, however I'm using 180,220,320 grit. Is it fine to end in 320? Or is it necessary to go to 400? Any help is appreciated.

I really appreciate your channel. My Z650 is my first bike and I'm learning a lot from your videos. You're covering most of the stuff I either need to know or mods I want to do. It's saving me tons of time.
