It’s not just Vegas, rather the whole country since the pandemic. People have lost their ever loving minds out on the road. Impatience and a general lack of respect and empathy for their fellow commuters and the result is more money to the insurance racket and funeral racket.
I see this a lot in the country areas, speed limit is 60 but they are doing 70 on your butt the entire time. They don't want the ticket but will push the person in front to go fast for nothing
One of the big reasons why I moved. 55 year resident and the way the roads are designed, north south and east west with 6 lanes turn lane with parking make it like the Roman Chariot Races. It is amazing there isn't more carnage on the roads.
Again I hate to be this guy but it wasn’t like this 15 years ago. Only a couple things have changed since then. I drive in California 5 days a week and that’s the problem. California. Especially the no blinker thing. Lazy fucs
Also, Las Vegas intersections are HUGE! If a driver enters a typical L.V. intersection on a yellow, doing the speed limit, the cross traffic already has the green before he is out of the intersection. The city needs to increase the delay between the start of the red, and the start of the opposing green.
My coworker was involved in a hit and run the other day. She was able to capture a pic of the plate but when she turned it over to the police it was a fake plate. Nothing new here!

I went to Las Vegas a little more than a month ago to visit my cousin and it has been over 15 yrs since I was there last, I was surprise to see how much the city it has grown, and the speeding cars was on almost every street, it was insane, I am not surprise to hear about these number of crashes and fatalities.
Lots of drivers running through red lights and blowing through stop signs. Then you have all the potheads driving around in addition to the drinkers coming out of the bars. On top of all that we have a lot of horrible drivers from Los Angeles bringing their road rage here to Vegas and acting like they're the only ones who know how to drive.
Being an OTR truck driver for 26 years now, I have driven in 47 of the lower 48 states and I can say without a doubt, Las Vegas drivers are some of the most dangerous drivers on the road today. When I drive in Las Vegas I have to be extra vigilant because my life depends on it!
I was living there until just a few months ago. The traffic/speeding got so much worse after 2020. I believe it had a lot to do with all the people from California moving to Las Vegas.
It's not just people I see driving wreckless from cali. I've seen plates from other states out here doing it, too, as well as plates from here. People know the cops are not around to stop them, and as long as the police don't enforce the law, it will continue.
The majority of the reckless driving from NEVADA RESIDENTS....I got hit today 2 times by the same fuckin taxi FROM LAS VEGAS.... gtfoh trying to Blane everything negative on California like this is some fucking moral cathedral.....
A big problem is the design of the roads and lights. They are huge, they feel like a highway, and the stop lights are loooooong, making people impatient.
Las Vegas and the whole U.S. needs to implement a stellar public rail transportation system especially to complement the Brightline coming in and get cars off the roads.
They run stop signs too! Happened to both my dad and me here. My family has had FOUR CARS TOTALLED through no fault of our own! I just watched a driver run the stop sign at the intersection where my dad nearly died ON A TURN!
I avoid las Vegas. The traffic there is the worst I have ever seen. Worse than anything in California, which is hard to believe but las Vegas traffic is insane. It's Vegas!
As a school crossing guard, I am witness 5 days a week to blatant disregard of school zone speed limit of 25 MPH. It is alarming how many people approach school zones doing 45 while looking at their phones. Nearly every day we have people suddenly skidding to a stop just feet from the crosswalks. You run into a group of kids crossing the street to school, your life is over. Is it worth it?
I noticed this trend before I was medically retired from driving for a living in 2018.🤷🏼♂️ I think I've seen more than my share of wrecks caused by fatigue, DUI and outright stupidity. I learned how to drive in 1975, drove overseas on active duty and obtained my Commercial Drivers License in 1991. On my last tour overseas one of my duties became to go out and take pictures of accidents our vehicles had. I lost a buddy in one in which a truck crossed over and hit him head-on.
The main 2 things that illustrate people's real attitudes are: 1-The way they post on social media. 2- The way they drive on the road. In both cases they're insulated from the real world.
Running Stop signs and traffic lights is a f***ing sport here in LV. I've seen so many vehicles blowing thru traffic lights that I'm damn near terrified of driving.
LOL…don’t leave the scene. I visit Vegas each year (VLV) and see hit and run crashes usually each visit. Last trip was a red Ford Explorer screwing around, ran a red light (EB Valley View at W Charleston). Lady restarted the Explorer and took off with steam and fluids spewing as she went. What a lovely person.
people leave the scene because they can't afford insurance or child support suspended their license so they flee to avoid more government extortion,, or they are drunk or drugged
People here tailgate too much or speed like crazy. They don’t know how to use passing lanes. It’s truly crazy. I have seen 6 light posts knocked down and a few cars upside down!
I live here and the traffic enforcement is lacking. People speed through school zones and 10 mph over the limit is common. You can't drive a half mile without fearing for your safety. We need more traffic enforcement and the statistics speak volumes. I'm a retired trucker and I know through EXPERIENCE that we need solutions. Someday ,speed will be controlled and you won't be able to speed.
Vegas has the worst drivers in the nation hands down ...wreckless, inconsiderate, distracted, drunks , aggressive, etc...and some just do not know how to operate a moving vehicle...period!...
I've lived in spring valley for the last 23 years...basically every car you see you have to assume they are going to do something stupid and drive accordingly. Slow down when entering intersections, be prepared to take evasive action from cars entering the street on your right or left, switch lanes when you see someone speeding behind you. Assume people are going to run stop signs and red lights and defensively look for it. I agree metro needs to crack down on reckless driving. Many years ago they would set up officers at intersections looking for people running red lights and speeding. You don't see that anymore.
I ALWAYS slow down when approaching a traffic light - EVEN IF the light is green! If it turns yellow when I approach an intersection, I will ALWAYS punch the gas and go! In the latter case, I have the fear that an inattentive driver will hit me from behind. I learned that the hard way many years ago, when I suffered whiplash when I got smacked from behind when I stopped at a yellow-about-to-turn-red light.
Easy fixes. Install red light cameras, excessive speed cameras ( 60 mph or higher trigger a photo ticket ) and implement a no distracted driving law meaning no cell phone use, no cigarette smoking and no eating or it's a ticket. Seattle does all 3 and it works. It's that easy so it's just a matter of how bad do you really want to prevent this stuff or is it just all talk........
There already are cameras. Speeding cameras? No. They don't help. It's the TEXTING and the fluoride stupor in people that's the problem, not just the speed.
What is warning people going to do? If people aren't blatantly on their cell phones with it two inches from their face or looking into their laps.... they are driving like it's GTA: Las Vegas Edition. Nothing is going to change if there aren't consequences. On Sunset every day cars pass me going anywhere from from 60-80 mph. The speed limit at most points is 35-45 mph. I've had a car from New York try to run me off into the emergency lane because he wanted into the right hand lane and I was in his way... not once but twice. He apparently couldn't slow down to get in behind me and there was a car in front of him. He was screaming at me, not that I could hear what he was saying but he then sped up, cut off the car to his left and cut off the vehicle that was in front of him, to cut off the car in front of me and continued to slam on his brakes up the off-ramp nearly causing them to collide with him. He continued that behavior down Sunset Blvd, still screaming. Erratic and terrifying behavior. I decided years ago I was going to get a dash cam, I highly suggest everyone get them. Video is solid evidence in the wrong-doing. If you aren't at fault, the video can clear your innocence and get the ball rolling quicker on claims and give police evidence to charge the guilty party. Not just that... it can help get information on hit-and-runs, such as license numbers and the make and model of the vehicle(s) involved.
You think that's bad? Have you seen the freeways around Los Angeles lately? The craziest most reckless driving I have ever seen in my lifetime. And, unlike in past years, virtually NEVER see anyone pulled over by the Highway Patrol. It's frightening.
Defensive driving is the basic FIRST rule taught - or used to be - when I learned to drive in the mid 1980s. It would be interesting to find out if this reckless driving trend is nation wide, as it certainly is becoming increasingly common in Los Angeles. People are often: 1) Angry 2) In a hurry 3) Distracted with cell phones. Pedestrians are often glued to their cell phones, not paying attention to where they are going or traffic conditions.
LEO always points to speed simply because it's easier to measure and enforce. In general speed is underrepresented in fatal accidents (meaning it's the prime cause less often than it occurs in general). As long as everyone goes about the same speed, speed is usually not the primary cause. The things that do matter more are: tailgating, unsafe lane changes, distracted driving, unsafe relative speed, unsafe merges. Enforce following distance and signal usage, implement variable speed limits to reduce pressure (vehicles per minute) when traffic ahead is slowing or too tightly packed. Another suggestion is to place merge "spacing lights" to get people to adjust early heading into merges (my concept is a combination yellow/ green lights with constant on/ flashing signals). We are still using traffic management methods from the 1970s with (at least) twice the traffic in all major cities. It's not a law issue, it's a traffic management issue.

i am more concerned with the people going 20+ mile over the speed limit. untagged, no plates, probably no insurance...
@@letschangepoliticsforthebe8366 Yeah that's the only real problem. To try and fix the rest is just over-ticketing with the money wasted.
Get a dashcam unless you don't mind being blamed.
It’s not just Vegas, rather the whole country since the pandemic. People have lost their ever loving minds out on the road. Impatience and a general lack of respect and empathy for their fellow commuters and the result is more money to the insurance racket and funeral racket.
I see a lot of DUIs……🤬
Well between my house and the grocery store, there’s 10 bars!
I've never gotten a DUI. I don't even have one drink if I know I have to drive. There is also no way I would be able to afford it if I did.
Driving under the influence of a cellphone
This trend is happening all over the nation.
And don't follow so close. You won't be able to stop if you are following that close.
I see this a lot in the country areas, speed limit is 60 but they are doing 70 on your butt the entire time. They don't want the ticket but will push the person in front to go fast for nothing
Just have good breaks, worry about yourself and less about where other people are driving.
One of the big reasons why I moved. 55 year resident and the way the roads are designed, north south and east west with 6 lanes turn lane with parking make it like the Roman Chariot Races. It is amazing there isn't more carnage on the roads.
But have you driven in Paris or Mexico City …😂😂😂😂😂
Bullshit!! I see everyone going more than 70 on the freeway/highway. No respect whatsoever no one turning their turn signals on.
Again I hate to be this guy but it wasn’t like this 15 years ago. Only a couple things have changed since then. I drive in California 5 days a week and that’s the problem. California. Especially the no blinker thing. Lazy fucs
Here in Houston a LOT of drivers are closer to 100 mph on the beltway and rarely get stopped.
I live in San Diego and this is my daily life on the freeway. I hate the freeway but i need to work.
These doorknobs , Don't know the difference between a video game and reality ,
Getting dumber by the day 😐
Very little traffic enforcement over the last several years as policing priorities change.
Yeah. Traffic tickets are probably racist or something.
This is a direct result of the defund the police. If you have less police, traffic patrol is the first thing to go.
Very noticeable where I live, and yet the local authorities say they can’t figure it out.
Also, Las Vegas intersections are HUGE! If a driver enters a typical L.V. intersection on a yellow, doing the speed limit, the cross traffic already has the green before he is out of the intersection. The city needs to increase the delay between the start of the red, and the start of the opposing green.
Least considerate drivers ive ever seen. Everytime i change lanes someone speeds up and nearly hits me. These stats don't surprise me at all.
It’s people from California. It’s obv Nevadans just DIDNT just decide to do this? No, it’s CA
They always drive at excessive speeds
My coworker was involved in a hit and run the other day. She was able to capture a pic of the plate but when she turned it over to the police it was a fake plate. Nothing new here!
Idiots driving without their lights on or with only the automatic headlights but no taillights or running lights. Should be some serious citations for that level of stupidity.
People need to stop being in such a damn hurry. If you’re in a hurry, you should’ve left earlier.
Now that Vegas is a suburb of Los Angeles it was inevitable.
Now thats the truth 👍🏾
You can only wish, bud; you have't a clue what you're talking about. Never, ever will this stupid city ever resemble even a tiny hint of my hometown in California. - stop wishing.....it's never gonna happen. Haters who've never even visited my home state love to say that this is "like" California, but the reality is that it's nothing like home. You people here in Nevada are the complete opposite of the kind, loving, logical and very cool people I grew up with. Eat your hearts out.
…..I moved here from Malibu / Calabasas area of Los Angeles (extremely upscale areas, with educated, decent people)……..I believe you’re referring to the Inland Empire…….TRASH.
The worst type of trash are those whom think they are better than others. Sounds just like you!@@eddieg6436
@@beebeescreebee …….Did you go to Boston University, fully fund your ROTH IRA in your 20’s-40’s, diversify your investments, buy, and PAY OFF real estate, travel the world, and RETIRE by age 50?!? …….No, didn’t think so. 🤷🏼♂️🤔🥂
It's time for r the police to enforce traffic laws.
Blaming government for the actions of its citizens.
They aren't going to enforce it. It's a low priority
I went to Las Vegas a little more than a month ago to visit my cousin and it has been over 15 yrs since I was there last, I was surprise to see how much the city it has grown, and the speeding cars was on almost every street, it was insane, I am not surprise to hear about these number of crashes and fatalities.
Im a Trucker..i drive nights...here in NJ..CT...NY...the cops do nothing.....
Same with Illinois, I've seen cars doing 130 past the state patrol and they just there
Former New Yorker here. They'll only stop you for tint and exhaust but not actual dangerous driving, they're a joke back home
Stay away from Las Vegas! Just saying!
Same with Arizona. Alot of bad drivers and accidents here. The heat makes them crazy.
Cant help it when there’s only idiots driving! Tired of having to think for everyone on these roads!
I'm curious to know if there has been a change in the demographics of the drivers.
California asians
It's not just people I see driving wreckless from cali. I've seen plates from other states out here doing it, too, as well as plates from here. People know the cops are not around to stop them, and as long as the police don't enforce the law, it will continue.
The plates from here but drivers from California..
You better start paying attention when you’re driving especially when going through intersections.
It's Vegas!
Reason # I've lost count of why I'm out of here. I've never seen worse drivers than in Vegas!
The people in Vegas drive like New York cab drivers!
I think his life is fine, the kids not so much.
I’m tried of seeing idiots running red lights , stop signs, and yield signs !! It’s like no one gives 2 shits about the next person on the road !! Smh
Slow the f down
The cops blame everything on speeding, while the citizen in the video explains what’s going on. All of our institutions have failed us.
Mr. Carr is right " we're like brother and sister" and we have to look out for each other❤
I noticed this trend before I was medically retired from driving for a living in 2018.🤷🏼♂️ I think I've seen more than my share of wrecks caused by fatigue, DUI and outright stupidity.
Sounds like a shit place to live. Criminals go unpunished.
And the good guys are found at fault
Running Stop signs and traffic lights is a f***ing sport here in LV. I've seen so many vehicles blowing thru traffic lights that I'm damn near terrified of driving.
"Many of these are preventable"? Unless cars are spontaneously blowing themselves up, then pretty much all of these are preventable.
Impatience, lack of consideration and general rudeness tied to lower class undereducated population with addictions.
This is everywhere.
I have seen 6 light posts knocked down and a few cars upside down!
no license no insurance no tags no citizenship
Drive DEFENSIVELY.
The ignorance of youth kills easily thousands each year. "I'll do what I want" is the battle cry of ignorant youth.
It’s a problem everywhere unfortunately.
Definitely put speed cameras by school zones to start. People start getting tickets in the mail and that will end
Mostly women speed through school zones. It blows my mind then remember these same people want abortion laws. Have a great day
Someday speed will be controlled and you won't be able to speed. Lets hope we never get to that kind of distopian future.
The cops don't do anything, and you hardly see a policeman on the streets.
These are crazy numbers 😮 I agree everyone in Vegas, let's SLOW DOWN and be more careful 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
It’s definitely is a lot of immigrants who don’t know the rules or who just don’t care.
I'm sure it has nothing to do with the legalization of marijuana
Always hit the carts while driving it's safer 😂
This trend correlates with every street and highway in the city constantly being under construction. People are more angry and frustrated now.
They need to go back to AZ and Ca
It's not just Vegas, it is the entire US! PUT DOWN YOU DAMN PHONES
Ya, and look at how well Seattle is turning out....Nazi Germany 2.0......
I live in Vegas and this is 100% true. Most people drive recklessly and it's terrifying. Police do nothing.
Cameras, install them. Police, DO YOUR GOD DAMN JOB!!!! DMV, quit giving licenses away because people know how to start their car.
There already are cameras. Speeding cameras? No. They don't help. It's the TEXTING and the fluoride stupor in people that's the problem, not just the speed.
You can pay for the cameras too bad a machine can't be a witness in court.😁😁
Speeding cams are NOT something you want. They get out contracted out to God only knows who and they f*** the taxes payers even harder.
Red light cameras @@jaredroussel
Uhhh...@@kawjaw8130?? Don't be afraid to make sense when you say something, it won't hurt.
There’s no police presence in Vegas! It’s very rare to see highway patrol. Years ago you would see them everywhere! Tell me if I’m lying!
Pot smokers not giving a damn, clouds pouring out of cars. Oh but legalize drugs! 🙄
Had a car stop and the driver got out and smoke billowed out of the car and my dog went in to a sneeze attack! Drugs are for losers!!
People on the phone are the least of the crimes I see on the road every day.
What about taking peoples' licenses away when they do stupid stuff like this? Fewer people need to drive anyway.
The trouble is, a lot of people driving don't have a drivers license or insurance! CRAZY TIMES!
The NJ Tuunpike used to have signs up the read, “Speeders Lose Licenses”. It used to make people think twice about driving like an idiot.
Dying has always been a dangerous trend.
I grew up in Southern California San Diego area. I moved to Medford Oregon 3 years ago and it's way worse here than so cal believe it or not
We used to have a law when I was younger. What happened to that?
Defensive driving is the basic FIRST rule taught - or used to be - when I learned to drive in the mid 1980s. It would be interesting to find out if this reckless driving trend is nation wide, as it certainly is becoming increasingly common in Los Angeles. People are often: 1) Angry 2) In a hurry 3) Distracted with cell phones. Pedestrians are often glued to their cell phones, not paying attention to where they are going or traffic conditions.
ALL crashes are preventable!!
I used to walk everyday to work , almost lost my life so many times there . I moved never going there again
Cell phone addiction while driving, minds are stuck in there,no mind at all for reality.
