    Hi! The recipe looks amazing but I wanted to ask a question. Isn't it better to use olive oil instead of coconut oil? I've heard that it contains alot of saturated fats, so the olive one would be an healthier option.

    • @toastyapron
      @toastyapron  Месяц назад +2

      Hi there! Yes you can certainly use olive oil instead of coconut oil if you wish - while olive oil does contain a lower level of saturated fats, I personally prefer the taste of coconut oil in this recipe compared to the more herbally taste of olive oil (just personal preference). Hope that helps, thanks for watching!

    FIRST, i love your content! you focus on the food and that’s very much appreciated.
    SECOND, video quality and style is so on point. i’m not a camera guy but love the transitions, how the recipe fonts complement your style (if that makes sense)
    THIRD, i hate vegan baking but your recipe changed my mind. i made the this with banana last week. today im going to try it with PUMPKIN 🎃
    LASTLY, one of my favorite things about your food content is how you swap out ingredients BUT then state what the ratio for the swap should be.
    KEEP KICKING ASS and thank you for making such a great youtube channel!

    I didn't know you could swap out flour like that! So does that mean we could use 180g of almond flour instead of oat flour??

    • @toastyapron
      @toastyapron  Месяц назад +1

      Hey there! Yes for this recipe, I've swapped out oat flour for almond flour at a 1:1 ratio by weight and it's worked out great. Different types of flour vary in their weight, so measuring by volume (i.e. in cups) will yield inaccurate results, which is why I recommend going by weight instead. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!

    • @harutran4703
      @harutran4703 Месяц назад +1

      @@toastyapron thank you so much for the detailed response! Do you think it would be okay to also halve the recipe and make muffins instead? I only have 2 ripe bananas at the moment 🥹

    • @toastyapron
      @toastyapron  Месяц назад +2

      @harutran4703 No problem! I personally haven't tried halving the recipe myself, but I'm sure you can do so if you wish! The only things I'd call out are to adjust the baking time, as a smaller loaf will bake faster than a larger loaf. So perhaps start checking doneness about 15-20 minutes earlier than the suggested time. You'll also want to use a smaller loaf pan. Please do let me know how it turns out for you if you give this a try! 😀

      Hi there! You can use 180g of whole wheat flour (measure by weight, not volume), and 1/4 cup (59 ml) of melted butter or avocado oil. Hope that helps - thanks for watching!

    Okay, so I've made this twice now, and this is a GEM. You have to have it leftover warmed up in the oven- the texture that way is spectacular! I blend my own oats in the food processor and though it's not as fine as oat flour and it makes the mix a bit runnier (the chocolate and walnuts sink to the bottom unless I sprinkle them on top), the recipe still works well for me!

    • @toastyapron
      @toastyapron  19 дней назад +3

      Amazing! I'm so glad to hear that it turned out great for you. Yes, the finer the oat flour is the better the more cakey it'll turn out - I typically use my high-powered blender when I'm grinding my own oat flour, as I find a food processor often lacks the power needed to grind into a fine powder. But thanks so much for sharing your experience! I'm glad you enjoyed giving this a try.

    Hey! Great recipe except honey shouldn't be heated. Heated honey is toxic

    • @Liusila

      I could only find one study that mentions harm discovered IN RATS fed heated honey MIXED WITH GHEE, so I’m not convinced about your statement for basic western baking.

      Not sure where you heard that but honey is not toxic when heated. It does however kill the nutritional value. If you are using honey specifically for a healthy alternative and the recipe requires cooking, it doesn't give you nearly as much health value. You can still absolutely use it if it is you're preferred sweetner though!
