It's the silence that gets me. The silence that allows you to hear the buzz of the overhead lights, and the creak of the old wooden floors that sound so much like my primary school built nearly 100 years ago now, and the chatter (real or imagined) of school children giggling and screaming far off. That's what really makes this chilling, more so than any animatronics or scare actors (still great in their own way, of course). This whole place is beautiful and chilling! I’m so glad I’m not alone! I rarelyyyyy leave my house unless I absolutely have to. I love horror but I don’t like loud noises in real life, being around people especially strangers, people being close to me and enclosed spaces. So the ONE time I went to a haunted house, my flight or flight kicked in except for I legit froze and thought I was having a heart attack but couldn’t move. I was actually having a panic attack but an actor had to break character (I was at netherworld in Georgia and they NEVER break character) and he was like are you good? And I had to get escorted out this secret side door and they told me it was probably a good idea if I didn’t come back haha. That was years ago when i actually could make myself go do things. But never never again I’ll watch from my phone and enjoy every minute 😂

I can push through it enough to be able to have a job. But anything that involves socializing in crowded places makes me extremely uncomfortable. There are days I don't want to leave my house either, unless it is to go to work or if I have to. I am more of an introverted person. But we got the internet and youtube to make up for that..lol.

My therapist recommended I get a work from home job for a while because working in public was causing me too much stress and I started drinking a lot. But now that I really don’t have to leave my house for things I just don’t. At least before when I had to I was somewhat normal 😂 I have a 2 year old now though so I’m probably going to have to start making myself do stuff in public for him so that he doesn’t become antisocial and weird like me.

I am in my 40's now, but I can remember when I was in lower grade school, my principal had a paddle with holes in it and she knew how to swing with perfection. Her name was also Mrs. Fuller. I am unable to go into haunted houses due to a heart condition, so seeing you guys doing this is great. Thank you for doing this for your fans, amazing haunts. Happy Halloween!!!

Mr. Bud and Company, the artisans, every crew member deserves accolades for this unique attraction. You covered all the senses, which is unusual, and the painstaking makeup, foam molding, painting, set building, you did an amazing job! It would be fascinating to do a paranormal investigation based on the history and what Jessica heard, who knows what will be recorded!
I'm actually from Cincinnati, it's really cool that you guys are covering it. It is a really great haunted house I encourage anybody that's around the area during Halloween to check it out. They also do a Christmas themed haunt during December! I think it's only for a few nights a week.though. People in the buckeye state love Halloween so we go all out.
When Jessica said an empty school gave her the creeps...so true. This haunt was a combination of real ghosts and Halloween set design along with childhood memories...those all together made this haunt so authentic & really trully scary!
Thank you so much for this!!! The owners put so much work into everything. As a kid, I was terrified of haunted houses, my parents took me to them every year. They made me walk slow and pointed out small details. I hated this as a kid because it was so scary. But now as an adult, I do take my time in haunts and I appreciate every small detail put into the attraction. This haunt is top tier even with lights on and no scare actors. I live in socal in a beachy city and very touristy, we have 3 famous haunts and the school house beats all of them.

This place looks incredible. Im astounded by their attention to detail. It's not easy to make things look naturally grungy, grimey, dirty, dusty and just plain old. One of my favorite parts was one random cobweb hanging off one chair on a stack of chairs. It was such a small detail but it caught my eye. I thought for sure they'd pulled that chair out of some old barn but then the owner talked about creating all the dust themselves. That is what true passion looks like- one perfectly placed cobweb. 🖤☠🖤

This series was my favorite of all the youtube content I saw last Halloween. And this haunt is my favorite one you visited. The fact that the storyline is intertwined with an actual dark past of a historic place just added a whole different dimension to the spookiness. 16:44 As someone who over the summer worked as a custodian in the middle school, I always felt creeped out by the 3rd floor which is normally empty and almost all of the lights are out. I always had that feeling that someone is watching me while I clean the glass. Schools really do give you a liminal space kind of vibe when there’s no one else around.
Dent schoolhouse is less than 5mins from my condo so needless to say we're faithful patrons lol. My aunt actually went to school there & can validate the rumors of the janitor but she was to young to really understand any of that. Idk, that story has definitely help up over the years & people in the area actually believe it to be true. Im happy that you guys got to experience our local haunt & loved it!! We have a few more here in Ohio I think you guys would love if u have the time to visit you should check them out!!

this is the scariest haunt I've seen you guys tour so far! Woooooow! I'm sure its horrifying during the show but it was almost scarier when it was so still and quiet especially since its easier to pick up on paranormal activity. And the fact that they're bringing a true story to life. I feel like theirs nothing scarier than that. It was almost something out of American Horror Story. I also appreciate the level of detail and making it an immersive experience in triggering all your senses. Overall super intense and visceral! And I love that after you spend time being scared you can enjoy the monster midway! That's seriously how its done. They are doing it right.
This place is amazing. I've never seen anything like it. I have always been fascinated by horror and gore. My dream job growing up was to do special effects makeup, costumes, props and sets, but unfortunately, i never got the opportunity. I wish we had things like this in my town, but not much goes on here. Great video..

this series is so incredible & i don’t think we can thank you guys enough for doing it! i loved watching the shows on the travel channel growing up that would show haunts across the country, but they never did it in this much depth. the owners of these haunts put so much effort into their craft and it does often go unnoticed from running through so getting to see every little detail, down to the dust on the chairs, is awesome! i can not wait for the coming weeks & what else you have in store for us!

In.my opinion this was the best haunted house in this series so far. That was a real treat. I can only imagine how much it was for you two. If I lived closer I'd definitely be going to this one

Seeing as for the past several (okay, maybe more like a decade or more) I've not been able to travel, or afford, to go to some of the big attractions around the country. But, you guys have shown me, and all your viewers, some of the most amazing haunts and sights! It really brings me so much joy, to see these with your awesome camera work, highlighting even the smallest of details that most may never even realize is there! The Dent Schoolhouse, even though it was only a lights on tour, I legitimately felt a chill, just watching, as I could imagine the feelings I'd be getting in the darkness of the haunt. This sent shivers down my spine, and a small sense of panic, at thinking of those incredibly detailed areas and props, all seeming to come alive, along with scare actors.. I can see even the most hardcore "I don't get scared" types finding themselves in a bit of fright from this place. Thank you for bringing us along on this wonderful journey with you both! The Dent Schoolhouse - Halloween Haunt Tour is one of the best video ever from Michael and Jessica the Grimm Life Collective and ever part of the this video is awesome from the history to the present and Jessica favorite is the carved pumpkins area.
Used to ride on Phantom Theatre at Kings Island when I was a kid. So neat that they used part of it for the Ghost Ball. It was always one of my favorite rides. So glad that you two are keeping the Halloween spirit alive and well as always! Wonderful series of behind the scenes haunts..loving all these videos!
Between this walkthrough seeing things you wouldn’t see in the dark, and a walk through video I saw of it in action… this looks like the best haunted house ever. I need to fly out to Ohio I think.
Wow!!! 🎉 Just w-o-w! I enjoy the artistry and theatrics of places & this schoolhouse was so detailed!!! Dust, webs, the narrow halls, takes you back! So realistic. The crazy thing is the backstory & that this place is haunted & you captured a lot of it not even trying. By just being there. (RIP to the poor children that died there & praying they didn’t miss any leaving them there because ALL THAT on top for a gravestone would be terrible🫤). Michael, at 36:34 you really looked like Brandon Lee from the Crow for a moment, in that scene. Also, Jessica, the reason why it was so creepy is because so many kids lived in fear in that school. The other reason why the lockers were so scary is because that’s where so many kids (nerds) were stuffed.

I am completely MESMERIZED by this place. My eyes never left the screen as this one was presented. I have never seen any place like this! I can relate to Jessica when she said that schoolhouses were creepy as a young girl when you would be sent back into the schoolhouse for something after school hours, and there would be dead silence and so spooky. That brought back memories for me and I got that same exact feeling when you all went through the Dent Schoolhouse. I could hear the lights "buzzing." I am in awe of the people who own and run this place. The gentleman who toured you through seemed so sweet and kind. Thanks!!

🇬🇧🦋fantastic haunt ..love the way it lets things that scare yourself able to surface via touch smell looks etc , wish it was over here in the uk , absolutely great stage setups . If it is this scary without lights and affects on how awesome will it be with them on ......🦋🇬🇧

this is the scariest haunt I've seen you guys tour so far! Woooooow! I'm sure its horrifying during the show but it was almost scarier when it was so still and quiet especially since its easier to pick up on paranormal activity. And the fact that they're bringing a true story to life. I feel like theirs nothing scarier than that. It was almost something out of American Horror Story. I also appreciate the level of detail and making it an immersive experience in triggering all your senses. Overall super intense and visceral! And I love that after you spend time being scared you can enjoy the monster midway! That's seriously how its done. They are doing it right.

This place is amazing. I've never seen anything like it. I have always been fascinated by horror and gore. My dream job growing up was to do special effects makeup, costumes, props and sets, but unfortunately, i never got the opportunity. I wish we had things like this in my town, but not much goes on here. Great video..

this series is so incredible & i don’t think we can thank you guys enough for doing it! i loved watching the shows on the travel channel growing up that would show haunts across the country, but they never did it in this much depth. the owners of these haunts put so much effort into their craft and it does often go unnoticed from running through so getting to see every little detail, down to the dust on the chairs, is awesome! i can not wait for the coming weeks & what else you have in store for us!

In.my opinion this was the best haunted house in this series so far. That was a real treat. I can only imagine how much it was for you two. If I lived closer I'd definitely be going to this one

Seeing as for the past several (okay, maybe more like a decade or more) I've not been able to travel, or afford, to go to some of the big attractions around the country. But, you guys have shown me, and all your viewers, some of the most amazing haunts and sights! It really brings me so much joy, to see these with your awesome camera work, highlighting even the smallest of details that most may never even realize is there!
The Dent Schoolhouse, even though it was only a lights on tour, I legitimately felt a chill, just watching, as I could imagine the feelings I'd be getting in the darkness of the haunt. This sent shivers down my spine, and a small sense of panic, at thinking of those incredibly detailed areas and props, all seeming to come alive, along with scare actors.. I can see even the most hardcore "I don't get scared" types finding themselves in a bit of fright from this place. Thank you for bringing us along on this wonderful journey with you both! Love you two, keep on living the Grimmlife!

Used to ride on Phantom Theatre at Kings Island when I was a kid. So neat that they used part of it for the Ghost Ball. It was always one of my favorite rides. So glad that you two are keeping the Halloween spirit alive and well as always! Wonderful series of behind the scenes haunts..loving all these videos!

I enjoy the artistry and theatrics of places & this schoolhouse was so detailed!!! Dust, webs, the narrow halls, takes you back! So realistic.
The crazy thing is the backstory & that this place is haunted & you captured a lot of it not even trying. By just being there.
(RIP to the poor children that died there & praying they didn’t miss any leaving them there because ALL THAT on top for a gravestone would be terrible🫤).
What a kind, personable nice co-owner & he gave a fantastic behind-the-scenes tour! I want to thank him as THAT is the part that interests me.

Michael, at 36:34 you really looked like Brandon Lee from the Crow for a moment, in that scene. Also, Jessica, the reason why it was so creepy is because so many kids lived in fear in that school. The other reason why the lockers were so scary is because that’s where so many kids (nerds) were stuffed.

I am completely MESMERIZED by this place. My eyes never left the screen as this one was presented. I have never seen any place like this! I can relate to Jessica when she said that schoolhouses were creepy as a young girl when you would be sent back into the schoolhouse for something after school hours, and there would be dead silence and so spooky. That brought back memories for me and I got that same exact feeling when you all went through the Dent Schoolhouse. I could hear the lights "buzzing." I am in awe of the people who own and run this place. The gentleman who toured you through seemed so sweet and kind. Thanks!!
